Stampin’ Up! Ready for a Legendary Ride Birthday Card for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is “Birthday”!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

So – I don’t really have folks in my family or immediate circle who are motorcycle peeps, but…I think the Legendary Ride bundle is pretty fun – and perfect for masculine cards!  I added some paper from the coordinating Ready to Ride DSP and took it in a little more feminine direction.  Take a look-see!

Stampin' Up! Ready for a Legendary Ride Birthday Card for the Amy's Inkin' Krew Blog Hop

The layout was loosely inspired by the sketch at the Saturday Sketch challenge!

I started by adhering a full size panel of the Ready to Ride Specialty DSP on the front of a Basic Black card base using Liquid Glue.  This paper is so cool – it’s got all-matte designs on one side – and then the flip side has gray and black foiling on it!  There’s also a couple of pieces that you can cut up to use on card fronts – like I did for this one!

Speaking of – I cut one of those panels – in Pumpkin Pie with pretty vanilla roses on it – and used my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker to add tone-on-tone faux stitches around the edges.

Then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used a little Liquid Glue to adhere two lengths of burlap ribbon from the Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack.

On a piece of Pale Papaya cardstock, I stamped the Legendary Ride sentiment in Pumpkin Pie and cut it out with the largest circle Stylish Shapes Dies.  Then I embossed the circle in the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the embossed circle over the ribbon.

Now – here’s some coolness!  One of the dies in the Legendary Ride die set cuts out a cool motorcycle image right from the Ready to Ride Specialty DSP!  I used the die to cut out a DSP motorcycle and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I decided it needed a little sumpin sumpin!  So…using a couple of dies in the Legendary Ride set, I cut a bike frame from dark silver foil from the Silver Foil 12″ x 12″ Specialty Pack.  I also cut out two Basic Black tires.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the two die cut tires over the DSP image and then added the foil bike frame.

Nice texture, huh?!  I love it! 🙂

I added a few of the Adhesive-backed Studs and the card front was done!

On the inside, I use Liquid Glue to adhere another piece of the Ready to Ride Specialty DSP on a piece of Pale Papaya cardstock, then I adhered it to a Pale Papaya-matted Very Vanilla panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the matted panel to the inside of the Basic Black card base and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the flames image from Legendary Ride in Pumpkin Pie on the front…

…and more of the Ready to Ride Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – I love love love when you can cut images from Designer Series Paper using dies, like in this Legendary Ride bundle, don’t you!??  And the cool Ready to Ride Specialty DSP has LOTS of motorcycles to cut out!  And that paper is why you can lean this set towards a masculine card or…the other way as a feminine card.  Cool beans! 🙂
