Happy Good Friday, y’all! I hope your plans for the weekend include spending some time with family and friends and reflecting on the meaning of this Holiday! We’re planning to go to our friends’ for dinner so that’s a cool thing to look forward to for sure.
My card today is all about a Sneak peek at the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. Like…nearly everything on the card is from the new catalog! Starting with the Botanical Layers stamp set – which is bundled with the cool new Lovely Layers 3 3/4″ x 5″ Vellum Paper. I am ALSO using the amazing new Fabulous Frames and Stylish Shapes die sets. All wrapped in beautiful new Orchid Oasis. ALL these goodies will be available to you on 3 May 22! Take a look-see:
This one is a pretty close CASE of a sweet sample in the new catalog from the uber-talented creators at Stampin’ Up!

I started by cutting one of the printed pieces of vellum from the Lovely Layers Vellum down to 3 1/2″ x 4 5/8″. That makes it fit under the die cut Fabulous Frames frame a lot easier to do, I promise!
These new papers are very fun – you’ll get 60 sheets – 20 of them are printed in black in 5 designs and the remainder are blank. I’ve used the design that looks like a mountain range. Note: in the video, I mention that there isn’t any Vellum 8 1/2″ x 11″ Cardstock in the new catalog. I looked again afterwards – and I was wrong! So sorry – it’s on page 140 in your catty. 🙂
Next, I stamped the pretty floral image from Botanical Layers in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with white Embossing Powder and heated it up with my Heat Tool. Tip: after you sprinkle the embossing powder on, secure the panel to your work surface with a few sticky notes – that will help to curb the vellum’s tendency to curl/warp when you hit it with the Heat Tool. Tip 2: do not touch the melted embossing powder until it cools – or it will smear. 😳😳😳
I used Stampin’ Seal along the very bottom edge of the vellum paper (keep it close to the edge so it won’t show under the frame) and a couple of Glue Dots along the top edge to adhere the panel to the center of the 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock.
From a piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock, I cut the big frame from the fabulous Fabulous Frames!
Using mini Black Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the frame over the top of the vellum on the card front.
Using the cool corner dies in the Fabulous Frames Die set , I cut four corners from the darkest Brushed Metallic Cardstock and adhered them with Liquid Glue.
I tied a small bow from vanilla baker’s twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack and adhered it with a Glue Dot.
On another piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock, I stamped a Botanical Layers sentiment in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with white Embossing Powder and heat set it.
When the melted embossing powder was cool, I cut it out with the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes Dies (y’all – I have used this so much already – I LOVE this die set!!).
Using mini Black Stampin’ Dimensionals, I adhered the sentiment over the card front – letting it overlap the frame.
I added some new Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots (also coming on 3 May in the new catalog!) and the card front was done.
On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Botanical Layers in Orchid Oasis on a Very Vanilla panel. In two corners, I stamped the foliage in stamped-off-once Orchid Oasis. Then I added another Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Orchid Oasis mat and into my Orchid Oasis card base, adhered the card front with Liquid Glue, and the card front was done.
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Botanical Layers foliage in full-strength Orchid Oasis on the front…
…and I stamped the image twice on the envelope flap, too!
Et Voila! Wow – another one that I’m already loving (SOOO happy that I got to get my hands on all these new goodies early – it’s GOOD to be a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – especially at new catalog time!!). Botanical Layers has a lovely mix of pretty, collage-able organic images and sweet and handy sentiments – and I LOVE the new Lovely Layers Vellum (which you’ll be able to get as part of the bundle – saving 10% – OR as a stand-alone paper set!). These two new die sets are simply….fabulous. Yes, I did that! Fabulous Frames and Stylish Shapes are perfectly wonderful a la carte dies – and, like me, you’re going to be pulling them out a LOT!

Finn Fan Fix
Finn and I love this time of year! We can open the windows and door and smell the fresh air. When we go to bed, we often have to close everything up cuz some fool is burning and left their fire smoldering. 🤬
But – as I walk thru the house in the morning, I open everything back up.
And Finn…just settles in for the first post-get-up nap of the day.
