Stampin’ Up! Eden’s Garden Heart & Home Hello There

Good morning and welcome to Weekend-Eve!  Know what three weeks from TODAY is??

Did you guess….Christmas Eve??  See the connection?  “WEEKEND-eve”….”CHRISTMAS-eve”?? 😉

You’re welcome for the update!

Now.  Since we’re getting close to The Big Day – I have a totally NON-Christmas card for you!  This one is a CASE of a really pretty card in the Jan – Jun 2022 Mini Catalog.  It uses the Eden Garden Bundle (available right now!) and the Heart & Home DSP (coming on 4 Jan!).  Take a look-see:

And I made a few mods to the sample as a result of the CASE The Designer challenge at the Global Design Project!

I started with a piece of the coming-soon Heart & Home DSP – it started as about 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, then I tore all four edges down.  It ended up at about 3 3/4″ x 5″.

Using a Sponge Dauber, I brushed the torn edges with Misty Moonlight ink.

Using two leaves images from the Eden’s Garden stamp set, I stamped both images around the edge of the panel in stamped-off-once Soft Succulent.

Then I adhered the panel directly to the front of a Thick Basic White cardbase.

I used the large rectangle die in the Eden Dies – available right now, bundled with the Eden’s Garden stamp set for a 10% savings! – to cut a Basic White cardstock frame.  I adhered the frame to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the smaller rectangle die from the set, I cut two frames – one from Highland Heather and one from Pale Papaya 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum.  I used Paper Snips to cut both of them into a bunch of smaller “branches”.

I also cut two of the single leaves from Misty Moonlight and two from Vellum cardstock.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered all the branches/leaves to the card front.

Then I tied a small, simple bow from the Misty Moonlight/Silver twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On a strip of Misty Moonlight, I stamped the Eden’s Garden sentiment in Versamark Ink – then I sprinkled it with white Embossing powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.

I snipped a banner end and popped it over the leaves and bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used Liquid Glue to add some leftover little bits of the Pale Papaya 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum leaves, tucked in here and there around the larger frame.

I added some new Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels (coming on 4 Jan 2022!) – one on the sentiment and a couple more around the collage – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used the same leaves images from Eden’s Garden to stamp in the corner of a Basic White panel in stamped-off-once Soft Succulent.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight mat and into the Thick Basic White card base, and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more of the Eden’s Garden leaves – in FULL strength Soft Succulent – on the front…

…and more of the Heart & Home DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I loved this card when I saw it in the catalog – and I love the way it turned out here!  The Eden’s Garden bundle is truly lovely – with great sentiments and images.  And…I can’t wait to see what you guys make when you’re able to pick up the Heart & Home DSP on 4 Jan – cuz…it’s gorgeous!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

The other day was Finn’s annual wellness exam.

He LOVES his vet – pulls ME into the building (which is EXACTLY opposite what I’m used to from dogs!).

Waiting is hard, though, once you’re in the exam room.

Everyone knows it.

I read my book on my phone.

He had a bit of a rest.

I answered some e-mails.

He checked to see if they have peppermint wrappers at the vet.

FINALLY – the vet arrived and…in addition to a few shots (which don’t hurt anyway but are made even BETTER by the nice lady feeding him yummy cookies thru the whole thing! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️) his doctor mentioned that he might be a little…uhm…well…. undertall??  A little better…padded?….than he should be? 🙁

I feel ya, kid.  No one wants to hear that.

He came home and….crashed.

Yup – the spectre of a diet is for sure exhausting to contemplate! 🤨🤨🤨

  1. Beautiful CASE of the designer. Love the torn, sponged DSP. Finn is so photogenic.

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you, ma’am! And yes – the camera loves him, for sure! 🙂

  2. Wow! Stunning card! Love the layering and the colors are perfect! Yeah…I feel the same way after a doctor visit as Finn does. I’m becoming under tall quite rapidly myself, so I understand! 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

We ALL get shorter as we get less-young! Thanks Amy! 🙂

  3. Susan K

So pretty! I love the torn edge and your adaptation of the original to fit the challenge! Very creative! TFS. Yeah, I feel for Finn. Maybe he’s a stress eater like me!

    • stampsnlingers

Yes, that’s probably it! He DOES have a lot of stress, as you might imagine! Thank you, Susan! 🙂

  4. Kate VanDeVeere

So…cookies fed throughout visit, then undertall overly padded diet prescribed??? Does not compute in the therapeutic lexicon under “set a good example”!?!

    • stampsnlingers

Well – they were little. And she broke them up. And – like all diets everywhere…I’ll start TOMORROW! 😉
