Stampin’ Up! Merriest Moments Knit Together Christmas Card

Happy Monday, y’all!  I hope your weekend was good despite the inherent solemnity of the date. Other than my haircut on Saturday, we stuck pretty close to home.  🙂  I’m busy getting ready for our team retreat next weekend and we had a team meeting yesterday.  We made some cute cards – and I’ll be sharing my riffs on a couple of them in then next little while.

My card for today uses the sweet Merriest Moments stamp set with the bundled Merriest Frames Dies and…the Knit Together bundle.  Take a look at what I came up with when I added some Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP!

The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

Several of the design elements were inspired by the Inspo List over at the Festive Friday challenge.  I got white – pearls – leaves – die cut! 🙂

And – I also pulled in the Just Add Ink challenge prompt.

I started with a piece of Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP that I matted on Misty Moonlight for the card front.

I matted a smaller piece of the DSP – in a Mint Macaron design – on Misty Moonlight and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the embossed panel, I placed a Basic White panel into my Stamparatus, inked the Knit Together stamp set with Versamark Ink and stamped the panel.  Then I sprinkled it with white embossing powder from the Basic Embossing Powders Pack.  I heat set it with my Heat Tool and then let it cool.  Tip:  when embossing powder is all melty – but still hot – it’s pretty easy to smear it, so…leave it be for a minute or two, okay?

When totally cool, I used several of the fun dies in the bundled Knit Sweater dies to cut the traditional Christmas sweater designs into the panel.  I ended up with three pieces of the panel which I adhered to the small panel on the card front with Liquid Glue.  Tip:  I adhered the bottom piece – then the top piece – and then the center piece.  That makes it easy to get the spacing just right!

I stamped a Merriest Moments sentiment in Misty Moonlight on another piece of the Mint Macaron DSP from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP pack, then snipped a banner into the left end.  I matted it on Misty Moonlight – similarly bannerized – then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the small holly leaf and the berries images from Merriest Moments in Mint Macaron and Polished Pink.  Then I cut them with their matching dies in the Merriest Frames die set (this is part of the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder if you’re buying it separately!).

I adhered the leaves with Liquid Glue and popped the berries over them with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  Then I added a Polished Pink gem from the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels to the sentiment – and a Pearl Basic Jewel to each of the die cut poinsettias in my “sweater” – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Merriest Moments in Misty Moonlight on a Basic White panel.  Then I added the holly leaves and berries.  I stamped the berries in Polished Pink, then made a sticky note mask (stamped the berries on the sticky note and fussy cut them), set it over the stamped image and stamped the two holly leaves over top in Mint Macaron.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight mat and into my Mint Macaron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the holly berries and leaves on the front…

…and more striped Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! I really like the Knit Together Bundle – have you seen it or did you miss it?  It’s quite unassuming but, with the cool background stamp and coordinating Knit Sweater dies – I think there’s a lot of fun projects to be made with it, don’t you?  And, of course, the Merriest Moments stamp set is gorgeous – I love the leaves and berries you can create – and that doesn’t even account for the amazing FOLDER part of Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder that’s part of the bundle!  I only needed the dies for this card!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

The other day I was filling the water trough and noticed a little tiny visitor.

Tell me he doesn’t look like a Pekinese…

I know.  You can’t.  Cuz he totally does! 😉
