Stampin’ Up! Festive & Bright Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I pulled out another new bundle from the Jul – Dec 2021 Mini Catalog so I could bring you a little sneak peek.  It’s a fun one – the Festive & Bright set with the bundled Festive Finishes die set.  This one covers Fall (Thanksgiving), Halloween and Christmas!  I paired it with a returning fave DSP – the Heartwarming Hugs DSP.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch!

I started with some Garden Green gingham paper from the Heartwarming Hugs DSP (available on 3 Aug!) that I matted on Poppy Parade for the card front.

On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the apple-strewn image from the new Festive & Bright stamp set in Early Espresso.  There are three long images in the set – one with these apples, one with pine boughs and Christmas lights – and one with witches hats.  The bundled Festive Finishes Die set has – among other things – long dies that cut those three images.  There are two dies per image – and they’re numbered.  If you use BOTH dies – then you can cut the entire image out and use it on your project.

For my card – I only used one of the coordinating dies – 3b.  Lining it up with the stamped image, I ran it thru my Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine and created a die cut edge on the Very Vanilla panel.

I placed the panel into the checks folder from the Checks & Dots Embossing Folder – leaving the die cut edge outside the folder – and embossed it with the checks.

Using my Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack – I colored the apples on the image. I used my Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green Stampin’ Write Markers to color the branch and leaves.

I wrapped a length of Bumble Bee 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon around the panel – securing it in the back with Glue Dots.  Then I popped it over a Poppy Parade mat with Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered the whole thing to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped a Festive & Bright sentiment in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and a second in Bumble Bee and fussy cut them both.  I used my Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker to “edge” the two fussy cut words.

I popped the larger sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added the smaller with Liquid Glue.

I tied a small bow from the Bumble Bee ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

Then I colored a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels with my Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend and added them to the card front.

I added a little Bumblebee Trinket with a Glue Dot and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added the apple image from Festive & Bright in Early Espresso to a Very Vanilla panel and colored it as I’d done on the front.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Poppy Parade mat and into my Bumble Bee card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Festive & Bright image again on the front…

…and more of the Heartwarming Hugs DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So…this is one of those bundles you MIGHT overlook as you peruse the new catalog!  But…take a second look!  THREE-holiday-“coverage” from the Festive & Bright stamp set – and the cool edge-dies in the bundled Festive Finishes set are so versatile!  Make an edge – cut a full “garland” – add leaves and lights, pine boughs or an adorable little ghostie!!  How handy!  And – Heartwarming Hugs DSP has such homespun charm – consider it for all sorts of projects as we head into Fall and the holidays beyond!

I hope you like!
