Stampin’ Up! Plentiful Plants Corner Pocket Front Fun Fold with Video Tutorial!

Good morning and happy Friday!  Hope you’ve had a great – short! – week and are looking forward to something fun this weekend.   We’ve got company coming for dinner tonight – fresh green beans and new potatoes from our garden!  And summer squash, too.  Yumm!!!

So – if you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube Live, I sure appreciate you spending part of your Thursday with me!  If not, but you’d like to watch the replay to see how to make this card, here ’tis!

This fun Corner Pocket Front fold card (that I learned how to do from a Splitcoast Stampers tutorial!) uses the beautiful Plentiful Plants stamp set with its bundled Pretty Plants Die set!  And – of course, some Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP!  Take a look-see!

And – did I mention that it ALSO works great as a Gift Card Holder? 🙂

I started with a Cinnamon Cider card base, cut at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ – then scored at 4 1/4″ (just like a regular card).  Then I lightly marked along the long edges at 2 3/4″ and again on the short side at 2 3/4″.  I used my Paper Trimmer to score on the diagonals from mark-to-mark.

I folded the triangles together and held it in place with a little piece of Washi Tape.

Then I folded at the 4 1/4″ score line to create the front pocket!

I cut a 3 1/2″ square of Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP and cut it into two triangles using the Paper Trimmer.  I did the same with a 3 3/4″ square piece of Just Jade cardstock.  I cut one DSP triangle and one Just Jade triangle into two smaller triangles – then I matted everything up using Liquid Glue.

I adhered the larger matted triangle to the front of the pocket fold – aligning the long top edges.  Then I adhered the two smaller triangles to the “inside” of the card.

I added a Just Jade-matted piece of “brick” paper from Bloom Where You’re Planted to the top of the card front.

Using the dies in the Pretty Plants die set, I cut several plant images from the Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP – I LOVE sets like this!!

Using Liquid Glue on the FRONT of each of the die cuts, I adhered them to the front inside of the pocket.  I interspersed them with some gold leaves from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack.

I stamped a Plentiful Plants sentiment in Cinnamon Cider on a piece of wood-grain paper from the Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP and cut it with a die from the Hippo & Friends die set.

I also stamped the draped foliage image from Plentiful Plants twice in Just Jade and once in Evening Evergreen and cut them with their matching die in Pretty Plants.

Using Liquid Glue – I adhered a hexagon shape from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack to the front of the pocket.  Then I layered on more die cut Ephemera Pack leaves, the sentiment and the die cut stamped images.

Then I tied a double-length simple bow from Linen Thread and adhered it with a Glue Dot, adhered some sequins from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack and the card front was done!

For the back, I stamped a second Plentiful Plants sentiment in Cinnamon Cider on a Basic White panel. I added a third sentiment underneath – inking just a couple words at a time – in Evening Evergreen.  I added the foliage image twice in stamped-off-once Just Jade.  Then I put a few Ephemera Pack sequins here and there!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Just Jade mat and onto the back of the card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Plentiful Plants foliage on the front in Just Jade.  I inked the stamp once and stamped it three times without re-inking…

..and more of the brick Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So…I am pretty enamored with this Corner Front Pocket fun fold card – it’s fun and easy – and it stands up!  AND – it’ll hold a gift card!  The decoration on this one – from the Plentiful Plants stamp set and bundled Pretty Plants Dies – are organic and easy to do since you can cut images right from the Bloom Where You’re Planted DSP!  I love it when that happens! 🙂

I hope you like!

  1. Awesome card Mary! Love the greenery images! 🙂 Ha! Apparently sometimes you do just need to carry a big stick around! 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – and speak softly! Get it?? 😉 Thanks very much, Amy! 🙂

  2. Lovely card! I love the plants and the DSP! I never had a foyer so didn’t have the planter, but I do remember them. This is a very cool way to give a gift card. Especially nice if the gift card is to a gardening friend and the card is for shopping at a greenhouse. Hmm..maybe you just got my creative juices flowing again!

    • stampsnlingers

Oh yes – that would be SO cool! What a great idea, Julie! Thanks very much! 🙂

  3. Susan K

Love the plants and fun fold. Totally love the whole card!

  4. Love this unique fold and that it also holds a gift card! Great job Mary!
