Stampin’ Up! Many Mates Video Tutorial Sneak Peek!

Happy Saturday, y’all!  And it’s the Saturday of a Three-Day Weekend to celebrate Memorial Day!  As you go about your socially distanced activities this weekend, grilling and playing in the sun, I’d ask you to take a moment to say thank you to those who gave all so that we could enjoy the freedoms we love so much!  Our freedom came at the ultimate cost for so many.  Thank you!

Part of my weekend will be spent (I hope!) with you (virtually!) tonight at 7pm Eastern over on my Stamps-N-Lingers FB page.  We’re going to play with a sentiment-centric bundle called Many Mates.  With a few other goodies thrown in.  Take a sneaky peek!

I think you’ll like this one so…hope to see you then.

Tonight.  7pm Eastern.  Right here! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

I’ve had a few requests for an update on the progress of our garden.

So – Finny (my docent) and I, went out with the camera.

Our first stop is the Squash department!  On the left – a baby Spaghetti Squash.  On the right – some yellow squash that are doing great!  We’ve had trouble in the past with blossom-end rot.  But..so far so good this year! 🙂

My French Algarve pole beans are doing their thing – and we’ve got tons of little flowers (baby beans, do-do-do-do-doo).  Underneath – my Buttercrunch that I started from seed (have to keep saying that cuz I can’t believe how good everything did this year!).  I’ve also got sweet onions in that bed – that we started from root cuttings off onions I cooked with.  Yes.  I AM channeling Laura Ingalls… 😉

Moving into the tomato area…

The two big plants in the corners are the tomatillos – going great guns.

The two small plants are basil.

Except…they’re not.  Somehow in the seed starting process, things went astray, awry and maybe even avast.  They are most definitely tomatoes.  I ASSUME they’re Argo paste tomatoes, but…I guess we’ll see!

I kept looking and waiting for them to look like basil – rubbing the leaves and sniffing….nope.  NOT basil! LOL

The Sweethearts are doing well – they’re such a solid performer!  This is a grape tomato and they’re sweet as sugar!

My Ancho Magnificos are really flourishing.  Not as fast as Wayne thinks they should – he keeps worrying that our soil isn’t as good as it “was last year”.  Cuz…we don’t have a thousand peppers by mid-May! 😉  But…we’ve got a bevy of flowers (aka baby peppers, do-do-do-do-dooo).

Finally, into Finn’s favorite part of the garden (cuz…he can reach these!).

We’ve got lavender… with some flowers around the edge…

And the blueberries and raspberries….

You DO have to keep a close eye on the fruit – those rascally squirrels are known berrytarians!

Last, but not least, Finn’s favorite – the Pink Peace!!

No more pictures of turnips, mustards and collards…we had two big harvests…

And some gorgeous radishes!

So – there you have it!  The garden is doing its thing! 🙂

Can’t wait to “see” you and your card tonight!😆Your garden looks GREAT! Wow! I especially like your climbing beans and how they shade the lettuce 👍 And I’d love to face-plant into your lavender tree! Ahh – I can almost smell it now!

    • stampsnlingers

I confess – it’s not the most aromatic lavender I’ve ever sniffed – but it’s one that apparetnyl will grow in the non-arid south! So…there’s that. It does smell nice, though – just not knock-your-socks-off, you know? See you soon, Elisha – thanks! 🙂

Wow Mary, your garden is amazing. As we are approaching winter most of ours have succumbed to the early frosts. We do have broad beans coming up and our Pink Lady apples are just such a beautiful shade of red. Thank you so much for what you do it has really helped keep me in this Stampin up family. 💕💕

    • stampsnlingers

So happy to hear that, Rosalie!! Thank you! 🙂

  3. You had great victory in your garden. What a sweet photo of Finn stopping to smell the roses. Oh, and thanks for the baby shark earworm! See you tonight.

Set my alarm for tonight. Boy, your garden is going gun-ho! Great job! TFS!

  5. Looking forward to the video tonight! And a watch dog can never be too careful when it comes to those squirrels. They’re sneaky little critters that require lots of chasing and barking. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Yeah – hope to see you then! Yes. They’re persistent little beasties!

  6. Robbie Miller

Wow, you are not only a pro at paper crafting but you also have a green thumb !

Thank you for your service, too !

    Hugs,
    Robbie

Wow, that’s some garden……especially all in raised beds. That must be so easy to take care of without “standing on your head”!! LOVE IT! We are just planting here in MN…..this weekend will be rainy & cool……normal Memorial Day weekend for us!! Keep us posted……love Finn & garden pics. Oh, the ponies too!! Looking forward to the new catalog & new card ideas. Thanks, have a nice weekend.

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – the standing on the head part is the worst! Love my raised beds! Hope you get to plant soon! Enjoy your weekend, Karen. 🙂

  8. Faith Simpson

  9. Kathy Fennell

Wow….the fruits of one’s labor is very rewarding! Your garden is awesome Mary. We just had freeze warnings last night so planting is still not recommended, soooo not So Cal up here. Short growing season here 🙁 your already harvesting and we haven’t even put anything in the dirt! Thanks for sharing your garden and harvest. Love the pic of Finn smelling the rose that is so precious. Enjoy the rest of your weekend my friend. 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Oh wow – quite the change from the season in SoCal, huh!? Hopefully you’ll get to plant soon! Thanks so much, Kathy! 🙂

  10. Great video tonight resulting in a very pretty card. I wondered bout the garden comments and what I missed. Now I know. Looking good there girl! I thought I would plant some flowers this week, but too wet. Rain almost every day and more predicted. So, instead I have been eradicating POISON IVY! I is trying to take over the world, starting in my hosta beds. I have eliminated a lot of it, but there is still some there. My daughter plants the veggies. Love the photo of Finn with his nose in the rose. Smart dog, to take time to smell the roses! 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Yuk – fortunately our Poison Ivy is out in the woods away from my garden! Thanks so much, Julie! Hope you get to plant some pretties SOON! 🙂
