Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Painted Poppies Sneak Peek For the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

You know, when I got back from OnStage, I promised myself I wasn’t going to go hog-wild on bringing you sneak peeks.  But…I can’t help it very much.  I’ve been itching to play with the set I’m sharing today – the Peaceful Poppies suite – since I saw it last Friday night!  This suite has two bundles that anchor it – the Painted Poppies Bundle with an all-images stamp set and the bundled Painted Labels dies and the Peaceful Moments Bundle with an all-sentiment stamp set and the bundled Poppy Moments Dies – all coming on 3 Jan 20!  I used both bundles and paired them with the gorgeous and spectacular Peaceful Poppies DSP.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch!

I started with some of the wunnermus Peaceful Poppies DSP and matted it on Basic Black for the card front.  I added a smaller panel at the bottom with Liquid Glue.  Across the seam I added a black decorative piece from the Peaceful Poppies Elements. And – above the seam, I also added one of the round elements from the set.

Let me tell you something, you guys – the Poppy Moments Dies are a collage-makers DREAM!!  Check out the leaves!  And the flowers!

I cut the large and small detailed flower in Calypso Coral – as well as the solid flowers that match them.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the detailed flowers to the solid flowers.  I used the detailed dies again to cut paper from the same Peaceful Poppies DSP that I’d used on the card front. I adhered the die cut pieces inside the card stock flowers (paper piecing).  Look at the shading that created!  I also cut some flower centers in Basic Black and added them with Liquid Glue.

I cut leaves – each leaf is composed of two-pieces – from Mossy Meadow and Old Olive – then I adhered them together with Liquid Glue.

Inside the Peaceful Poppies Elements, you’ll find some white-printed vellum leaves and flowers.  I used two of those leaves and colored the back with my Dark Mossy Meadow and Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.

The last piece of the puzzle is the sentiment.  I stamped the Peaceful Moments sentiment in Poppy Parade on Whisper White and cut it with the smallest Rectangle Stitched Die.

Then – I took a few minutes to play with all the pieces – including a length of Basic Black baker’s twine from the new Country Club Twine Combo Pack (available 3 Jan 20).  Once I got a collage that I liked – I snapped some pictures with my phone camera – in various stages so that it would be easy for me to re-create it.

And – I adhered the pieces back onto the card front with Liquid Glue.  When I got to the sentiment and the small flower – I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I finished off with some Peaceful Poppies Sequins (also available on 3 Jan) here and there with Liquid Glue – and the card front was done.

On the inside, I added another Peaceful Moments sentiment in Poppy Parade (would you look at that gorgeous font!?!) to a Whisper White panel.  Around it, I stamped some Painted Poppies in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Over each flower – I added the solid image in stamped-off-once or twice Poppy Parade.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Painted Poppies on the front…

…and more of that spectacular Peaceful Poppies DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh.  My.  Goodness.  Yes – this is my current MOST FAVORITE SUITE in the new 2020 Jan – Jun Mini Catalog (the catalog-formerly-known-as-Occasions)!!  Painted Poppies and the bundled Painted Labels Dies and the coordinating Peaceful Moments stamp set and bundled Poppy Moments Dies.  All held together by the Peaceful Poppies DSP.  I hope you like!  And you need to add this to your MUST HAVE list right this very second!
