Stampin’ Up! Holly Jolly Deer Night Before Christmas Card

Good morning!  How goes your week?

Ours is cooking along – I’m trying to get back into the swing of things.  Might have gotten a bit ahead of myself on the treadmill yesterday morning.  But – gotta get back at it!!  I feel so triumphant when I get done and so durned…guilty!!…when I don’t do it!

Must say – if anyone had told me six-seven months ago that I’d be anxious to get back on the treadmill….I’d have flat ROFL my hiney off!!

So – let’s talk about something way less nauseating than a treadmill.  Like….Christmas cards!!  As it happens, I have one to share with you today – that uses the Holly Jolly Christmas bundle and some Night Before Christmas DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this vintage-y Christmas number is from this week’s The Paper Players sketch challenge.

I started with some holly-strewn paper from the Night Before Christmas DSP pack and matted it on Cherry Cobbler for the card front.  Also matted on Cherry Cobbler is the strip of coordinating paper adhered across the panel.

Then I cut a square of Whisper White that I embossed in the Winter Knit 3D Embossing Folder.

I added some faux cross-stitches around the panel with my Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker, matted it on Cherry Cobbler and popped it onto the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My sentiment is a die cut from the Jolly Seasons Die set (bundled with the Holly Jolly Christmas stamp set) that I cut three times in Cherry Cobbler and once in Gold Foil.  Then I stacked them up with Liquid Glue.

I adhered the sentiment to the embossed panel with Liquid Glue.

The two embellishments are stickers from the Night Before Christmas Memories & More Card Pack.  I added the holly sprig in one corner and the deer – after putting a piece of Dimensional under his antler – in the other.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I used my Stamparatus to add a sentiment from the Holly Jolly Christmas set in Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink to a Whisper White panel.  Then I added a couple more of the holly sprig stickers.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Crushed Curry card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a couple more holly stickers (handy, huh?) on the front…

…and a little more Night Before Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the old-timey feel of this DSP, don’t you?  And the images and sentiments from Holly Jolly Christmas, as well as the Night Before Christmas Memories & More Card Pack stickers and cards – really helps to bring the whole picture together into an old-fashioned Christmas celebration!   I hope you like!

He’s fun to play with…he squeaks GOOD!

But he’s ALSO a fun hat!

Thank you again for thinking of me.

  1. That card is fantastic! Love the reindeer and the non-traditional Christmas colors! Finn does look like he’s enjoying the octopus just a bit…hopefully he does not suffer the same fate as Mr Reindeer did. 😉
