Stampin’ Up! Well Written Toile Christmas Cardinal and the Paper Trimmer is Coming!

Hey y’all – it’s Tuesday, which means we’re 2/5th of the way thru the week!  Whoo-hooo!

My card today has a Christmas-y feel, but it’s a congrats card!  I used the Toile Christmas bundle and Toile Tidings DSP – with some help from Well Written Dies and the Parcels & Petals stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

And it perfectly fits the theme challenge this week at Inspire. Create!

I started with some Real Red striped paper from the Toile Tidings DSP and matted it on Basic Black for the card front.

On some Very Vanilla cardstock, using my Stamparatus, I stamped the Cardinal and branch from the Toile Christmas stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink – and cut them with their dies in the bundled Christmas Cardinal Die set.

I used my Real Red Stampin’ Blends Combo to color the bird and the berries, and my Granny Apple Green and Soft Suede Combos for the leaves and branch.  The dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends was used for the beak.

With the dies in the Christmas Cardinal Dies, I cut some Granny Apple Green and Garden Green leaves, and a couple three Gold Glimmer flourishes.

I also cut a sentiment-sized Very Vanilla Rectangle Stitched Die.

For the sentiment, I turned to my Well Written Dies – and cut two from Basic Black and one from Gold Glimmer Paper.  I adhered them together in a stack with Liquid Glue.

Next it was time to dry fit all the parts!  Once I had an arrangement that gave me that “yep – there it is” feeling, I picked up the sentiment rectangle and took a picture.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere all the parts back onto the card front.

With two lengths of Linen Thread, I tied a big loose bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Then I popped the sentiment rectangle over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added the stacked sentiment with Liquid Glue.

I added some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots from the Christmastime is Here Suite (coming on 1 Nov) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a perfect sentiment from the Parcels & Petals stamp set in Real Red on a Very Vanilla Panel.  Then I surrounded it with a couple of Toile Christmas flourishes in Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic Ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Granny Apple Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Toile Christmas flourishes on the front in Golden Glitz ink…

…and more of the striped Toile Tidings DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Cardinals are a winter-y bird – not just for Christmas – so…I love that the Toile Tidings bundle can be multi-purpose with the addition of sentiments from other sets like Parcels & Petals (from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog).  Or…die cut sentiments like from the Well Written Die set (also in the Annual Catalog).  I hope you like!
