Stampin’ Up! Well Written Butterfly Brilliant Wings

Good morning, y’all – and welcome to the work week!  Or…the retired week.  Whatever kinda week you have ahead of you – I hope it’s awesome!

My card today is a fun one – it’s got gorgeous Rainbow Glimmer Paper making a showing as….Brilliant Wings butterflies!  And take a look-see at what happens when you add them to a little black-and-white True Love DSP and give them a Well Written die cut sentiment.

Stampin’ Up! Celebrate Sunflowers Well Written Welcome New Pet Card

Well – it’s Monday again – hope y’all are ready for the week!  Don’t know about you but we here in GA had a simply perfect Fall-preview day yesterday!  Bright sun – blue skies – low humidity – mid 70’s!  My windows and doors were open all day and I enjoyed a few hours on the mower in the pasture!  It was wonderful – and I hope we get a few weeks of it!

One of my friends from my previous work-life is…getting a new addition to his family!  They lost their senior GSD a few months back and…finally were ready for a new face in the house.  So…I made them a card to welcome…Gus!  They’re pretty big gardeners, so I used the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle, the Dog Builder Punch (duh!) and a few sentiments from the Well Said stamp set and coordinating Well Written Dies.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Best Catch Fun Fold with Video Tutorial for The Paper Players

Hey y’all – it’s Sunday, which means I’ve got another fun challenge for you from the Paper Players – it’s a nice, open sketch challenge from the talented Laurie this week and it’ll for sure jump-start your creative mojo!  I hope you’ll come and play along.  🙂

If you were able to join me yesterday for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending some of your weekend with me!  If you weren’t able to watch the live version, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

Today is Wayne’s birthday so I made him a card!  And, since he’s a fisherman and…a guy!…a fun-fold with a fishing theme seemed like the way to go.  It ended up being kind of an homage to several wonderful retiring goodies – including the Best Catch stamp set and bundled Catch of the Day die set.  Take a look-see:

And here’s this week’s Paper Players CAS challenge!  Hope you’ll join the fun and show us your projects!  I can’t wait to see what you create!  🙂

I also played along with the TGIF Challenge this week!

I started with a piece of Night of Navy card stock that I embossed in the High Seas 3D Embossing Folder (yes – this is RETIRING, so…get it quick!).  Then I matted it on a piece of Soft Suede for the card front.

The accordian fold is 4 1/4″ x 9″.  I colored the “sky” with my Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends Combo and the ground with my Crumb Cake Combo.  Then, using the little “gravel” image in the Best Catch set, I stamped all over the “ground” in Soft Suede.  I stamped the image two or three times without re-inking.

Next, I scored the panel with my Simply Scored tool at 1″, 2″, 4″ and 6″.  I burnished the folds – starting with a “mountain” at 1″ and then valley (2″), mountain (4″) and valley (6″).

On the third panel, in Night of Navy ink, I stamped a sentiment from Best Catch.  Then I adhered the folded panel to a Soft Suede mat and onto the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Whisper White – I made a big ole splotch of Old Olive using my Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Combo.  I just used both blends to scribble a big enough “background” to cut three of the grass dies in the Catch of the Day set.  While I had it out, I also cut four of them from the Old Olive color in the Perennial Essence Vellum (Retiring).

I colored all the tops of the cattails with the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend.

The Best Catch bass is stamped in Soft Suede on Whisper White and cut with the matching Catch of the Day die. Then I colored it with my Old Olive, Calypso Coral and Early Espresso Watercolor Pencils.

Finally, I stamped the fisher-dude in Soft Suede, and cut him with his die.  He’s also colored with the Watercolor Pencils.  His little “water” swirly is colored with the Balmy Blue Blends.

Using Liquid Glue (or Glue Dots for the vellum grasses), I adhered the pieces on various panels – being sure to not interfere with the folds!  I nestled the bass in and amongst some grass…and used my Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker to hand-draw a few birds in the corner.

The final piece is the sentiment.  It’s a word cut with the Well Written Dies (yep – also retiring!).  I cut three of them in Night of Navy and adhered them in a stack with Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered just the first part of the sentiment to the first panel.  and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment (this one is from the Bonanza Buddies stamp set – which is retiring, too!) in Night of Navy to a Whisper White panel.  I colored some “shore” at the bottom of the panel and stamped the creel in Soft Suede and a hat in Crumb Cake.  I lightly colored both images with my Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend and the Early Espresso Watercolor Pencil.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Soft Suede mat and into my Night of Navy card base, and to adhere the card front and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more shoreline and Best Catch fishing gear on the front…

…and I added a little Come Sail Away DSP (you guessed it….going away!) on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So – this card – with it’s Best Catch, Catch of the Day, Bonanza Buddies, Well Written, Come Sail Away DSP, Perennial Essence Vellum and High Seas 3D Embossing Folder (whew!) – is a true memoriam to some wonderful products that will be gone-baby-gone SOON!  So – if you don’t have them in your stash, you need to remedy that right away!  Remember – while the stamps will for sure be around thru the end of the catalog – ALL the rest is “while supplies last”.  So…tarry not!

If you want to recreate this card – all the Stampin’ Up! products you need are listed down below along with the card cuts!

Now – before you reach for your ink and papers, check out what our amazing team has created to inspire you this week:

Stampin’ Up! Vintage Well Written Path of Petals Anniversary

Hey y’all!  How’s the haps on this Tuesday?

Last week my friend in Colorado asked me for a special Anniversary card for some good friends of hers who are celebrating their 50th Anniversary.  Which is pretty darned cool!  I asked for some specifics and wrote down: grasses/prairie, horses, down-to-earth, vintage.

Then I stewed for a while.  I flipped pages in the catalog for ideas.  I knew I wanted to use the Friendly Silhouettes Dies for the grasses.  And the Let It Ride set for the horse element.  I also figured Well Said/Well Written for the sentiments.  But I wanted a…..better?…sentiment, too.  I finally found it in the Path of Petals stamp set.  And I saw a fun card front treatment in the catalog, sooo…putting it all together, here’s what I came up with.  Take a look-see:

I started with a Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes card.  I matted some Mossy Meadow 6″ x 6″ DSP (from the Neutrals pack) on Mossy Meadow card stock for the card front.

Then I pulled out the Come Sail Away DSP and cut 6 – 1″ x 4″ strips of the newsprint design.  I used my Paper Snips to rough up the edges of each strip and then sponged them with Crumb Cake using Sponge Daubers.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the strips to the card front and then added mini staples (from a non-Stampin’ Up! stapler) for a vintage-y decoration.

With the grasses die in the Friendly Silhouettes Dies, I cut one in Gold Foil (50th Anniversary!), one in Mossy Meadow and one from an extra piece of a Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Card.  I adhered the Mossy Meadow die cut to the Gold die cut – offsetting them a bit for some depth – using Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue (and added a couple more mini staples).

I stamped “Anniversary” from the Well Said stamp set in Early Espresso on more of the Come Sail Away DSP.  Over the word I stamped the grazing horses from Let It Ride in Crumb Cake ink.  Then I cut it out with a Stitched Nested Label Die, roughed up the edges with the Snips and sponged it with Crumb Cake.

I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and used them to wind/adhere a few loops of Linen Thread and popped it onto the card front – nestling it down in the grasses a little.

I used the die from Well Written to cut a Gold Foil “Happy” and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

To finish it off, I tied a Linen Thread Double-Loop Bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Over top I added a simple bow in Mossy Meadow Linen Thread from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.  Finally, I added a Gold Metallic Pearl – and the card was done!

For the inside, I added the Let It Ride horses in stamped-off-once Crumb Cake to a Very Vanilla panel.  Over the top, using my Stamparatus, I added the perfectly perfect sentiment from Path of Petals in Mossy Meadow.   I used Liquid Glue to add about a half of the Friendly Silhouettes grasses that I’d cut earlier from the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Card.  I finished up with another Gold Metallic Pearl.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Card, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

The matching Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Envelope got more Crumb Cake Let It Ride grazing horses on the front…

…and I added a Come Sail Away DSP Envelope Liner (I traced the shape of the liner that comes with the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes, then fussy cut it – and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake) with Liquid Glue.

Et Voila!  So…uses a lot of elements, yes.  Has multiple steps…yes.  But – nothing very hard – and I think they pieces and parts all come together to create the card I was going for!  I love the versatility of the Well Said stamp set and Well Written Dies – and the wonderful sentiment from Path of Petals is just right for an Anniversary or Wedding card.  I hope you like!

Apparently I wasn’t paying enough attention to The Man and Mr. Reindeer yesterday afternoon.

So – The Man brought Mr. Reindeer VERY CLOSE!!

It was pretty close – and moving fast! – so…sorta hard to get a picture.

He.  Was. On. A. Mission.

The mission was successful.  And – interestingly – Katy just watched in disgust.  But she didn’t leave.

Younger brothers are just something dignified cats have to deal with, I suppose.

Stampin’ Up! Modern Heart is a Well Written Thank You

Well.  Tuesday arrives.  And when I look out the window I don’t see the Greek isles – or miles and miles of ocean.

And – when I go to get a cup of coffee, no one will admonish me to “washy-washy”!! 🙂

It’s truly back to the real world, my peeps! 🙂

My Katy is fine – looks like she got along okay in our absence.  I wanted to thank Sonya for taking care of her, so…a card seemed to be in order!  And – unlike the horse-care-thank-you…this one needed a cat.  So…out came the Cat Punch.  And I paired it up with the new Modern Heart stamp set.  Take a look-see:

The color scheme for this one came from this week’s Sunday Stamps color challenge.

I started with a piece of Whisper White.  In the middle, I stamped the bold “swath” image from the new Modern Heart stamp set.  I stamped it twice in Bermuda Bay ink.  With the tiny heart image, I stamped here and there in Pretty Peacock.  Then I matted the panel on Highland Heather.

On a second piece of Whisper White, I stamped the large heart image in Tuxedo Black.  Then I colored the various shapes on the inside with my Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends in Bermuda Bay, Shaded Spruce, Highland Heather, Purple Posy, and Pretty Peacock.  Then I fussy cut the heart.

I used some Glue Dots to adhere two lengths of Whisper White 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to the card front.

I added some Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of my fussy cut Modern Heart and used them to wind several loops of Silver Metallic Thread.  Then I popped the heart onto the card front.

I punched the cat out of Basic Black card stock using the Cat Punch and adhered her over the heart with Liquid Glue.

Using the Well Written Dies, I cut “thanks” and “You” from Whisper White.  I snipped the “s” off of “thanks” and then adhered the words to the card with Liquid Glue.

I added some Noble Peacock Rhinestones and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the large Modern Heart in stamped-off-TWICE Pretty Peacock on a Whisper White panel.  Over the top, I added a sentiment in Highland Heather.  I scattered some tiny hearts across the panel in Bermuda Bay.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Highland Heather mat and into my Pretty Peacock card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more hearts on the front…

…and I used my Stamparatus to add the Modern Heart images on the back as well!

Et Voila!  I wasn’t sure about this Modern Heart set – but was intrigued by the samples in the catalog, so I added it to my stash!  And boy, am I glad that I did!  It’s obviously going to be a great set to use for all sorts of cards!  I love it in the peacock colors of the challenge.  I hope you like!

The Man is home!  He was happy to see us – for about 15 seconds, then he zoomed around the Puppy Tubs lobby sniffing every single sniff.  And debating if he could get away with grabbing a bone out of one of the baskets!  Even the pictures are blurry! 😉

He was damp – so he’d obviously had a play in the pool in the morning – and ready to get in the car (after we got his suitcase and food bucket!).

That’s not his suitcase – that’s my new Soda Stream!

On the way to the house, right at the mailbox, we saw a doe and two (tiny!) fawns!  I was WAY WAY too slow to capture them on camera – but…the Man totally saw them!

Once we made it to the house, he unpacked his suitcase, putting Mr. Reindeer and Mr. Elephant away.  Then…it was time for….

…a nap in front of the air conditioning vent.  This travel stuff is exhausting – the jet lag is just horrendous! 😉

Stampin’ Up! A Well Written Daisy Lane for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop!

When I saw the color challenge, my brain screamed DAISY LANE!  Like most of us, when my brain screams – I listen.  So…Daisy Lane it was.  Take a look-see:

Guess – no really! – guess what the color challenge is??!

I started with a piece of Old Olive card stock and stamped the pretty ferny leaf from Daisy Lane all over it in Old Olive for a tone-on-tone “DSP”.  Then I embossed the panel in my Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and matted it on Daffodil Delight for the card front!

While I had the embossing folder handy, I embossed a piece of Whisper White and matted it on Daffodil Delight.  I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I pulled out my Well Written Dies and cut “thanks” from some Pool Party card stock, then adhered it vertically on the embossed Whisper White panel. I made a bunch of ferny leaves with the new Lovely Leaves Die – cutting several from Old Olive card stock and Old Olive vellum from the Perennial Essence Vellum Card Stock pack.

For the Daisy – which might not even be a daisy anymore….maybe a yellow dahlia?? – I stamped the large and small flowers from Daisy Lane twice each in Daffodil Delight on Whisper White.  Using a Blender Pen, I pulled ink around in the petals to color them.

I punched out all the flowers – using the carry-over Daisy Punch for the large flowers, and the Medium Daisy Punch (bundled with Daisy Lane for a 10% savings) for the smaller ones.

I also punched some flowers from So Saffron vellum from the Perennial Essence Vellum pack.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the leaves to the card front in an ever-so-artisic way.  I also adhered all the flowers in a stack to create my “daisy”.

I stuck a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of my flower and used them to wind some Silver Metallic Thread in several loops.  Then I stuck the flower onto the card front and “ruffled” the petals a little with my fingers to give it a little “boost”!

I added a new silver Designer Element to the middle of the flower and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used the smaller flower from Daisy Lane to add a Daffodil Delight flower in the corner of a Whisper White panel.  I added some Old Olive leaves and a second Daisy Lane sentiment in Pool Party.  And another Designer Element!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into my Pool Party card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another flower and leaves on the front…

…and more of the Old Olive ferny leaves on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I do so love the new Daisy Lane stamp set and the bundled Medium Daisy Punch is just the bomb-diggety.  SUCH a perfect addition to our “stable” of punches.  I hope you like!

Use this host code when you order and receive a free gift from me! But, if your order is over $150, please don’t use this code (you’ll miss out on your own Stampin’ Rewards if you use it) but you’ll still get the free gift. The free gift is your choice of any item valued up to $10.00 from any active catalog! And – you can even select one of the Host-exclusive sets! See my Rewards page for more details.

Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades TODAY at 10AM Mountain Time!

Good news! Stampin’ Up! has received a shipment of Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades (item 126995), and this item will become available on today at 10:00 AM (MT).

Remember – limit on blades will be three! We anticipate blades to sell out quickly, but hope more folks will be able to order with the smaller limit.

Also, there are a couple different error messages you will see if you try to add the blades to an order before they become available and after they have sold out.

  • On the day of the launch, if you try to order the Stampin’ Trimmer Cutting Blades before they are available, you will see this error message: “You may not order 1 of item 126995 because of promotion restrictions.”
  • When the blades have sold out, the message will return to the current message until the next launch: “This item has been discontinued and cannot be added to your order (126995).”

Remember: June 27th (that’s TODAY!) at 10AM (MOUNTAIN TIME!)
