Stampin’ Up! Leave a Little Sparkle Unicorn and Petals

Good morning!  It’s Hawwmmp Day!!  Whoo-hoo!

Yes – I still care about these things.  Just…not as much as I used to! 😉

So – my card today is going to be reminiscent of one I did a couple weeks back.  It’s a special order (they don’t upset us) so…I pulled the Leave a Little Sparkle stamp set and some Pressed Petals Specialty DSP and made another magical unicorn card for a tiny girl human headed off to school!  Take a look-see:

Similar – and yet…different, yes?  There’s the beauty of this wonderful craft of ours!

I started with a different design of the gorgeous Pressed Petals Specialty DSP and matted it on Daffodil Delight for the card front.

Then I stamped “Sparkles” (that’s what I named him) in the center of the oval in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  His mane is colored with the Light and Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends – plus my Merry Merlot Stampin’ Write Marker.  I brushed his body with Frost White Shimmer Paint using a dried out Blender Pen.

Next, I grabbed the Lovely Leaves Dies and cut some Daffodil Delight and Rococo Rose flowers, some Mossy Meadow Leaves, a few Very Vanilla “wildflowers”, and a couple of Gold Glimmer leaves and small flowers.

I made a flower with the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape – I patted the back of each “petal” with my Embossing Buddy so they wouldn’t stick together.  In the middle is a Perennial Essence Floral Center.

I stamped a Leave A Little Sparkle sentiment in Merry Merlot on a strip of Daffodil Delight and bannerized the end with my Paper Snips.

Since I wanted a little more sparkle, I brushed the Very Vanilla “dandelions” with my Clear Wink of Stella.

Then I dry fit the collage and took a couple of pictures so I could put it all together.  Thought you might like to see how it all went together! 🙂

I adhered everything with Liquid Glue – with the exception of a couple of small flowers around Sparkles’ horn – I popped those on with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some Noble Peacock Rhinestones and Rhinestone Basic Jewels – and some gold stars from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley (this one is coming on 4 Sept in the 2019 Holiday Catalog)!

Before adding the Pressed Petals flower – I used a Glue Dot to adhere a double-length bow tied with Linen Thread.  I added the flower over top – with a little Liquid Glue – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Leave A Little Sparkle in Merry Merlot to a Very Vanilla panel.  Over the top is the sparkly-flourish in Rococo Rose.  And a few more Most Wonderful Time gold stars just cuz!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into my Merry Merlot card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another Leave a Little Sparkle flourish in Rococo Rose and some gold stars on the front…

…and one of the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP papers – that coordinates perfectly with the flower on the front of the card! – on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Pressed Petals and Leave a Little Sparkle come together again to create a little girl’s fantasy!  I hope you like – I am quite sure that SHE will!

Finn Fan Fix

Summertime, summertime, sum-sum-summertime, summertime!

For us – summer is flip flops and shorts, watermelon and BBQ.

For a horse-dog, it’s…

…laying in front of the fan in the barn aisle.

Having a little puppy-picnic.

If you have horses – you know what those are.

If you don’t….you might not really want to know…. 😉

  1. Sweet card! I’m sure that she’ll love it! Fantastic layering under your flower. 🙂

As for Finn…EWWWWWW!!! I don’t have horses and I know what those are. No more doggy kisses from him!!!

Awww – just some stinky pony-toe-nails! What’s not to love?!? 😉 Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Even a big girl would love that card if she’s into unicorns. I’m into that washi tape and can’t wait to get mine. I don’t have horses and haven’t been around them since high school but I still don’t know what Finn’s delicacy is. My guess would be toenails.

    • stampsnlingers

Right?? Isn’t that washi just as cool as can be!? Can’t wait fo you to get some! And – ding ding ding!! Pony tootsie-nails! A puppy delicacy, indeed! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  3. HA! What a Finn! Gorgeous card. Think I will CASE this one. My great granddaughter starts school in a couple of weeks, and she is an Elsa, Unicorn, ballerina type girlie girl. She will love a card like this. Thanks for sharing.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks, Julie – I love this stamp set paired with the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP! Your great grand will love your card, I know! 🙂

  4. Susan K

How girly! I bought this set especially for my granddaughters who are into unicorns right now and Jenna’s 5th birthday is coming very soon, so thanks for the inspiration! I know she’ll love it too.
Glad Finn can beat the heat with a little snack. I don’t want to know what it is! 😝

    • stampsnlingers

Aww – they’re going to LOVE any card you give them, Susan – but THIS set will really be a hit! Thanks so much! 🙂
