Stampin’ Up! Leave a Little Sparkle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s Hop is a color challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone comes up with –  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop!

I might have gotten a little jiggy with the color challenge (a LITTLE, I said!) – I was making a card for my Mom to send to a young lady who is starting first grade this Fall.  I thought the unicorn and sentiments from the Leave a Little Sparkle set was perfect.  And a unicorn in a bower of flowers (yes, I said “bower”) seemed like just the thing – so I pulled out my Pressed Petals Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

Here’s the challenge.

And I borrowed the layout from this week’s FUSION challenge!

I started with the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP and matted it on Mossy Meadow for the card front.

I cut a strip of Very Vanilla and stamped the first sentiment from Leave a Little Sparkle in Mossy Meadow in the middle on the right side.  Then I matted it on Mossy Meadow and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used SNAIL to adhere some Rococo Rose 1/2″ Gathered Ribbon across the top and bottom of the strip.

For the art, I stamped the unicorn from Leave A Little Sparkle in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Very Vanilla and cut it with a large Stitched Shapes die.  I colored his (her?) mane with my Light and Dark Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends and the Rococo Rose Stampin’ Write Marker (that gives three shades of the same color!).

I used an old Blender Pen to color the body and horn of the unicorn with Frosted White Shimmer Paint.  Then I brushed Clear Wink of Stella over the mane.  I popped the oval onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut several flowers in Very Vanilla and Rococo Rose using the die from the Lovely Flowers die set.  Each Rococo Rose flower got a Rhinestone Basic Jewel and the Very Vanilla’s got a Petal Pink Noble Peacock Rhinestone.  I also cut leaves from Mossy Meadow and Gold Foil.

Then I used Liquid Glue and Mini Dimensionals to adhere them around the unicorn horn and on the side of the oval.

I tied a double-loop bow from Mossy Meadow Linen Thread (part of the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack) and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Over the top I added a double-length simple bow from Linen Thread.  Finally, I added some gold stars from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley (2019 Holiday Catalog – coming on 4 Sept) – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added the second Leave A Little Sparkle sentiment in Mossy Meadow to a Very Vanilla panel.  In the corners, I stamped the sparkle-flourish image in stamped-off-once Rococo Rose.  I added another gold star, just cuz…

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a full-strength Rococo Rose flourish on the front…

…and more Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I am hoping that this girly-flowerdy-unicorny card from Leave a Little Sparkle will appeal to the young recipient!  Who could really resist a unicorn peering from within a bower of pretty rose and cream flowers?  I hope you like!
