Stampin’ UP! Here Comes the Gingham Sun and a Blog Candy Winner!

Happy Happy Hawwmp DAAAAAAY!!  Whoo-hoo!  It’s almost OnStage Day!!  48 hours from now I’ll be on my way to Charlotte and having that new Annual Catalog in my sweaty little mitts!  Happy dance happy dance!

And – if YOU want that new catalog in YOUR little mitts (sweaty or otherwise!), then you need to be sure you’re on my mailing list!  How to do that?  If you’ve placed an order in the last year – you’re on it!  Not sure?  Give me a holler and we’ll double check!  If you haven’t ordered from me – and you aren’t working with another demonstrator – you can get on my list by heading over to my Online Store and getting an order in for $50 or over!  You’ll get on my list, earn Peppermint Points, and get a nice little ordering gift!  Get ‘er done by 1 May to be sure you make that first mailing list – I’ll be ordering my catalogs on 2 May!

Now – let’s get on to the card for today, shall we?   I used the host-exclusive stamp set from the 2019 Occasions catalog called Here Comes the Sun for this friendship/thank-you card and paired it up with the Basketweave Dynamic TIEF and some pretty Gingham Gala DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

And I played along with The Paper Players theme challenge.

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock that I embossed in the Basketweave Dynamic TIEF and matted on Mango Melody.  To finish the card front, I cut a piece of Daffodil Delight 6″ x 6″ DSP and cut it on an angle.  It’s 1″ tall on the left side and 3″ tall on the right – and the width is 3 7/8″.  I adhered it to the embossed front panel with Liquid Glue and the card front was done.

I wrapped a length of Whisper White 5/8″ Flax Ribbon around the seam, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

The sentiment is from the Host-exclusive stamp set called Here Comes The Sun.  I used my Stamparatus to stamp the images (each piece is a separate stamp in the set) – starting with the Basic Gray sentiment.  Then I added the Mango Melody “sunshine”.  Finally, I added the sunbursts in Daffodil Delight – one right-side-up and one upside-down!  Then I cut it all out with a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle.

I matted the sentiment on a scalloped Mango Melody mat, cut with a Layered Circles Framelits die, then I popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a short length of the Whisper White 5/8″ Flax Ribbon around the ribbon already on the card – making a small knot to create a “faux bow”.  Finally, I added some Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins, topped with Pearl Basic Jewels, around the card front and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added the sunburst image from Here Comes The Sun once in Daffodil Delight in the middle of a Whisper White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Basic Gray card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the Here Comes the Sun sunburst in Daffodil Delight on the front…

…and I added some more of the Gingham Gala DSP on the envelope flap – plus…a couple more sunbursts!

Et Voila!  I love this sweet little stamp set – and…I know you do, too!  I ALSO know that when the Retiring List comes out next week, this is about 99.9% certain to be on it.  Host-exclusive sets rarely – if ever! – carryover.  So – if you love it like I do – you need to get it soon!  And remember it has to be purchased with Stampin’ Rewards – which you start to earn when your workshop or individual order totals $150 in retail.  Give me a shout and we’ll get that worked out for you!

Blog Candy Winner

Thanks to all of you who shared your comments and “wishes” for the new catalog – some really super ideas out there.  We’ve only got a few more days until we get to see if any of them will come true!

I plugged the numbers into my Random.org handy dandy random number generator and…our winner is…Comment #29!

That comment came from Carole Doody who wrote: “One of the things I’d love to see is more coordination between stamps and punches or Thinlits and DSP, like they had in the Occasions catalog and sale a Bration catalogs.I love what they did this spring with the butterfly gala suite. I didn’t get a chance to get all of the things I wanted before the end of saleabration, but I did get some of the paper, and now that the punch is back in stock I will get that and the stamps too. I love that so many things can be used together in a suite. Makes all of them so much more versatile.” 🙂

Carole – I’ll be sending you an e-mail shortly to get a mailing address, then will get your kit in the mail as soon as I can!

Congratulations!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Change It Is A Coming!

Yesterday I shared a bunch of new changes coming down the pike at Stampin’ Up!  There’s lots in store for us as we move into the next year!  I shared all the details with you guys yesterday on this blog post.  Give it a read!  Here’s a link to the post with all the information.  As always – if you have any questions, give me shout!

Stampin’ Trimmer Discontinuation

Stampin’ Up! will be retiring the Stampin’ Trimmer as of 3 June 2019, including all accessories—replacement cutting blades, scoring blades, and cutting mats.  As most of you know, they’ve experienced challenges with their supplier and are taking the opportunity to research and explore a replacement option for this product, which won’t be the same as the current Stampin’ Trimmer.  There’ll be a gap in time between when the current Stampin’ Trimmer retires and when a new product becomes available, but they do not currently have an estimated timeframe.

While the replacement cutting blades will also retire with the trimmer and will not be featured in the annual catalog, Stampin’ Up! has ordered what would normally be six months of inventory based on recent historical patterns to help customers during this transition away from the current trimmer.  But please know that this news could cause faster inventory depletion. 😳

  • When the retiring list goes live on 15 April, the order limit for the blades will increase from three to six (and the limit will remain at six until they’re no longer available).
  • From now until September, intermittent shipments of blades will be received from the supplier. Throughout these months, Stampin’ Up! anticipates times when the blades will not be orderable (and not offered as a backorder). During those downtimes, you will have the option to enter an email address to receive notification when the blades are available again.

  1. Such a pretty card! Love the bright colors and angled panel. Perfect! 🙂

  2. Beautiful Mary 😊 Love the bright DSP. My dad used to sing this song to me, then I sang it to my babies (that are All grown up now).

My Handaddy sang it to me. Glad that it brought back good memories, Karen! Thanks! 🙂

Nifty card! Clara’s favorite song. Finn appears to have found a sunny spot!

He’s not a seeker-of-the-sun like Clara-bear. He just plops wherever the mood strikes! Thanks, Mom! 🙂
