Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods Christmas Season

Happy Weekend!  Hope you’ve got something fun planned!  I made it home safely yesterday ahead of the next winter storm.  Whoo-hooo!  Did not get the test done that needed to be done – the plane simply wouldn’t cooperate.  But – I got a nice little road trip and saw some of my friends from our last event in CA, which was fun.  So – far from wasted for me! 🙂

I’ve got a pretty little Christmas card for you today using the wonderful Winter Woods stamp set.  I set it stop some Woodland TIEF embossing – take a look-see:

I played along with the Global-Design-Project theme challenge this week!

I started with a panel of Whisper White that I embossed in the Woodland TIEF and matted on Merry Merlot for the card front.  Around the card front, I wrapped a piece of Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8″ Reversible Ribbon, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

On a smaller piece of Whisper White, I stamped the big pine tree image from Winter Woods in Mossy Meadow – I stamped it twice without re-inking.  Then I stamped it a third time (but that one ended up under the cut-out tree, so…you can put it on or not.  Up to you!).

I matted the smaller panel on Merry Merlot and adhered it onto the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a Window Sheet, I stamped the Winter Woods tree again in Mossy Meadow.  Be sure to go straight down and straight up – your Stamparatus will help with this!! – so that the stamp doesn’t slip and slide and smear your image!  Then WAIT for it to dry – or help it a little like I did with my Heat Tool on the lowest setting.

Once the tree was good and dry – I cut it with the die in the matching In the Woods Framelits.  I also cut a second solid tree from a piece of Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  Using Glue Dots under the stamped image (to help hide them!) – I adhered the stamped Window Sheet tree over top of the Sparkle Glimmer Paper tree!

I stamped the sentiment from the Winter Woods stamp set in Merry Merlot on Whisper White and cut it with the die from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits.  With the slightly larger die – I cut a Merry Merlot mat.  I adhered them together with Liquid Glue and then added it to the card front with more Liquid Glue.

I popped my sparkly tree over top of the whole thing with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

With some Gold Metallic Thread, I tied a knot tightly around my Merry Merlot ribbon right next to the art panel.  Then I adhered a bow, tied of the same ribbon, right over the top of that knot with a Glue Dot.  Tying the metallic thread around the ribbon makes it look like it’s a bow tied the “right” way!

And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I added a couple of Mossy Meadow pine boughs and an Early Espresso pine cone from Winter Woods onto a Whisper White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Merry Merlot mat and into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

On the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added more Winter Woods pine boughs and cones…

…and did the same on my envelope flap!

Et Voila!  I love this Winter Woods set – and am glad it’s carrying over!  Note:  the stamp set and In The Woods Framelits are both carrying over – but the money-saving bundled price will NOT.  So – if you want this stamp set and framelits – I’d urge you to get it now!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

When I arrived home on Friday, it was to a couple of big – and heavy! – boxes from Stampin’ Up!

Whaaa?!?  That almost never happens here.

Said no one ever! 😉

I’ll share the “fun goodies” pic with you soon – but…the important work inside was….2019 Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs!

I’d pre-stuffed and labeled envelopes for all my customers before I left on Wednesday, so…Finn and I sat down to label and stuff the two catalogs into their envelopes.

HIS contribution was to lay sprawled behind me and push into my back with his large man-dog feet.

Guess he figured a back-rub would help?? 🙂

Anywho – “WE” got them done and they’re on their way!!  Whoo-hooo!

  1. Such a pretty card! Love your layered trees, great colors too! And Finn was just trying to help…he wanted to make sure that you didn’t get too comfortable and relaxed. I’m sure that he was afraid that you’d fall asleep and not finish the task at hand…see, he was “helping” you very much. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Gosh – guess you’re right! He DID help! 🤔🤔 Thanks for helping me to understand, Amy! Thanks! 🙂

  2. Kathy Beaver

Loved everything about this card, especially the hint about the “right way” to do the bow.

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – my right bows never look even sort of right, so I have to do “right”!! Thanks, Kathy! 🙂

  3. Kate

    Pretty and piney-woodsy. Nice!
I have spoken to Clara about Finn’s helping. I will spare you her response. 😑

    • stampsnlingers

She’s just jealous of his loooooong legs!! Thanks, Mom! 🙂

  4. Be still my heart…both for the card and your masseur! I really like the window sheet idea. Your bow is beyond perfect…if there is such a thing! LOVE it and I hope to duplicate it. I can’t think of a thing that I would change.

Thanks very much, indeed, Karen!! Appreciate the kind words! And yes – he’s ridiculously cute! 🙂

  5. Gerri K

Mary, Beautiful card! Can’t really see the sparkles in these pics but I better they are really pretty in person. I’ve got to try this technique.
Finn’s adorable! Love seeing pics of him.

    • stampsnlingers

I know – it’s hard to see them in the pictures! But – they’re there – like a light sprinkle of ice! Thanks very much, Gerri! 🙂

  6. Absolutely gorgeous, Mary! 💌
