Good morning!! Hard to believe it’s already….HAAAWWWWMPPP DAY!! Whoo-hoo! And – one week from tomorrow it’s time for your stretchy pants, huh? Y’all doing turkey? Ham? Turkey AND Ham?!?
We’re in the turkey and ham camp. We’re going to smoke a turkey this year and let Honeybaked do their thing for the ham. And then we’re going to try to keep the rest of the over-abundance to a minimum.
I don’t hold out much hope! 😉
So – yesterday was a pretty dreary, cold and rainy day here in GA – and I think that drove my decision to use a new stamp set from the 2019 Occasions Catalog!
Also – I had this…
How could I resist?!?
So – I made you a card with the new Butterfly Gala stamp set and the bundled Butterfly Duet punch…
…and a little Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ DSP.
I also used a sweet DSP that is a FREE item in the 2019 Sale-A-Bration catalog, called Botanical Butterfly DSP.

The layout for my card is from this week’s TGIF Challenge.
And the color scheme is from the MFT Card Challenge. I used Gold for my “natural” color! 😉
I started with a piece of Lemon Lime Twist paper from the Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ DSP (available 3 Jan 19) and matted it on Poppy Parade card stock for the card front. I wrapped some Solid White Baker’s Twine twice around the panel, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.
The sentiment, from Butterfly Gala (available 3 Jan 19!), is stamped in Early Espresso on a piece of Whisper White, then cut with a circle Stitched Shapes Framelits die. I added one of the beautiful butterflies from the set – the outline image is in stamped-off-once Early Espresso. The colors are added as the second-step in stamped-off-once Poppy Parade and Lemon Lime Twist. I matted the sentiment on a scalloped Poppy Parade circle.
I used the wonderful berry die from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits (which we found out is CARRYING OVER!!!) to cut a couple of boughs from Gold Foil. These are adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.
One of the papers in the Botanical Butterflies DSP (available on 3 Jan in the Sale-A-Bration catalog FREE with a $50 purchase) is black and white. And the butterfly images all match the Butterfly Duet punch. I cut two of them and colored them with my Light and Dark Granny Apple Green and Light Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend. I also stamped (in Early Espresso) and cut some smaller butterflies on the other side of the same paper – which is green tones.
I used Liquid Glue to arrange the butterflies ever-so-artfully about the card and sentiment. The large butterfly at the top has a few loops of Gold Metallic Thread wound behind it with a Glue Dot.
Then I added some Lemon Lime Twist Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins and Pearl Basic Jewels. Finally, I tied a double-length bow from the Solid White Baker’s Twine and added it with a Glue Dot and the card was done!
On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Butterfly Gala in Early Espresso, then stamped another butterfly. Once again, the outline and fill images are all stamped-off-once.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Poppy Parade mat and into my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Butterfly Gala flutterby on the front – this one in full strength Early Espresso and stamped-off-once Lemon Lime Twist and Poppy Parade…
…and then I added more of the Gingham Gala DSP to the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Doesn’t this suite of goodies just brighten your day?!? We’ve got a ton of wonderful butterfly and flower images coming to us with this new catalog, y’all – and the Gingham Gala suite with it’s Butterfly Gala stamp set is just the first! Love that Butterfly Duet punch! And – I think we’ve established how much I love plaid – and gingham! Hope you like – and have started your shopping list for the new catalog! 🙂
