Stampin’ Up! Wishing You Many Blessings for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month it’s all about Giving Thanks!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

I saw a card a while back by Sue Mohr that created a wreath using punched and die cut leaves.  So, for today’s project, I decided to do one of my own.  I used the wreath from the Wishing You Well stamp set and added leaves created with the Leaf Punch and the Painted Harvest stamp set.  Take a look-see:

This was one of two cards I made that were inspired by this week’s theme challenge at The Paper Players.

I started with a piece of designer paper from the Country Lane DSP pack and adhered it to an Early Espresso mat with Liquid Glue for the card front.

On a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, I stamped the wreath from the new Wishing You Well set in Early Espresso and again in Crushed Curry.  Then I cut it out with a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle die.

I stamped the sentiment from the Many Blessings set in Cajun Craze in the middle of the stamped wreath.

I created the wreath by punching multiple leaves with the Leaf Punch.  I made five Early Espresso leaves by first stamping the leaf image from the Painted Harvest set in Early Espresso ON Early Espresso card stock and punching them out.  Then I punched four leaves from Copper Foil.  I creased the copper leaves with my fingers.

I arranged all the leaves around the die cut circle and adhered them – just their stems! – with Liquid Glue.

I wanted some “greenery” filler, so I went to the new Night Owl Thinlits and cut a whole slew of the little pine boughs (handily – there are four of the dies in the set, so cutting a slew goes pretty quick!) – I cut them in Blackberry Bliss Country Lane DSP and in Mossy Meadow card stock.  Then I stuck them here and there and hither and yon in amongst the leaves, using Liquid Glue to get them stuck.

Last week, when I was playing with the Blackberry Bliss Nature’s Twine, I made a fat double-loop bow that was too large and fluffy for that card.  Recall these were made by un-twisting the twine and using the thinner strands.  It was perfect for this card!  So – I adhered it to the bottom of the wreath with a Glue Dot.  Over that, I adhered a regular bow tied with some 1/4″ Copper Trim.

And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I added some of the little flourishes from the Many Blessings stamp set in Cajun Craze in the corners of a Very Vanilla panel.  With my Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker – I added little dots around the flourishes.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Early Espresso mat and into my Blackberry Bliss card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got another couple of Mossy Meadow dots and Cajun Craze flourishes on the front…

…and a bit more of the Country Lane DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Love this happy harvest wreath – created with leaves from the Painted Harvest stamp set and brought home with the Many Blessings set.  Of course, the Country Lane DSP is pretty much perfect for this time of year – and this kind of card!  Hope you like!
