Stampin’ Up! Pretty Pines and Wishes All Aglow

So – guess what day it is!?!  Yep – it’s Hawwwmp Day!!

Counting down to that next one-day-off.

Yes, it’s true.  I’m wishing my life away.  Not good.  But – there it is.

I ordered some new goodies (shocker, I know!) and they arrived last week.  One of the little tidbits inside was a fun little stamp set called Wishes All Aglow.  Very cute images and sentiments.  I combined one of them with some pine boughs from Pretty Pines.  Another shocker! 🙂  Take a look-see:

I started with a piece of the Quilted Christmas DSP that I matted on Garden Green for the card front.

My sentiment, from the Wishes All Aglow stamp set, is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Whisper White panel.  I used my Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends pens to color the light bulbs.  I added some more “a-glow” around the edges.

Cuz…I could! 😉

I matted that on Garden Green and adhered it to the card front with Fast Fuse.

Then I pulled out my Pretty Pines Thinlits and cut two medium-length boughs in Garden Green and two short boughs in Lemon Lime Twist.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered them to the card front.

The center embellishment is a Stitched Felt Embellishment, adhered with a couple of Glue Dots.  I tied a little Real Red bow from the Mini Tinsel Trim pack and added it to the felt embellishment with a Glue Dot.  And the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from the Wishes All Aglow stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I stamped a couple of Christmas lights around it in Real Red and Daffodil Delight.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Garden Green mat and into my Lemon Lime Twist card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Wishes All Aglow Christmas lights on the front…

…and more of the Quilted Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Quick and easy but oh-so-cute! A very viable candidate from Wishes All Aglow – and quick enough to reproduce for an annual Christmas card when you’re looking for a more secular kind of card!  Hope you like!

Finn-Fan Fix  (I got a few pics!)

So, the other day Wayne and Finn went to Scout’s house.  Wayne for dinner and Finn for a play-date!

Which, apparently, he took full advantage of (he was even too pooped to go for his feed-the-horses run that evening – hopped right on the golf cart.  “I’m just going to patrol from up here, Dad – drive on!”).

Scout tried to teach him about herding chickens.

It’s not easy.  Who can even tell which is their front end and which is their back end?!?

But then – maybe all you have to do is do what your sister does!!

And then they rested.

I’m sorry I missed the fun! 🙁

  1. The pups are truly beautiful and handsome. I’m glad you got to see pics and share them with your fan club. I was just looking at this DSP last night and wondering how I could use it. Thanks for the inspiration. That is a cute stamp set but I’ve got 4 or 5 sets of Christmas stamps I haven’t used yet so I MUST pass. I don’t NEED it, but I kinda do WANT it! Have a blessed day and you aren’t wishing your life away, you are only wishing your work days away 😉

    • Okay – I’ll take that distinction! I totally “get” having sets I haven’t used yet! 🙁 Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  2. What a pretty card! Love the pine boughs over the little bulbs, perfect design! Bummer on missing out on the puppy fun…but working in the middle of nowhere in Utah is almost as much fun…right?? 😉

  3. This is super cute, Mary! You make me want to order it! LOL

  4. Kate

    Bright card. Nice.
Herding by any other name…even if the herdees are hind-side-to. I guess. My big herders never got a chance to discern, and the basket would just run ’em to ground.

    • Thanks, Mom! Yes – he doesn’t really care what they are or (lets be honest) WHERE they go. He just thinks they’re kinda fun! 🙂

  5. Susan K

Cute card and even cuter pics of the play date fun! TFS.
