Stampin’ Up! Burned Out….Watts of Occasions!

Mornin’, y’all!  If things go as planned – and I wake up and get it in gear – I’ll be on my way home when you get this!  As I write on Thursday afternoon – my room is all packed up (ish) and I’m ready to start the trips to the car.  In an unusual departure from my norm – I even kept the pictures I took of the loaded car so I can repeat that!  I was ready to make a trip down, but the afternoon rain storms stopped that.  So…will write this post, have a little dinner and then maybe take a load.  It’ll be a bit cooler then, too – so maybe my inks and stamp sets won’t swelter! 🙂

The card I’m sharing today uses a few ideas from the catalog for this super cute Watts of Occasions stamp set.  I grabbed a couple of ideas from several cards that SU! used as examples and combined them on this quick and easy card.  Take a look-see:

Yea.  I might have been feeling a little burned out when I made this one! 🙂  And that little face in the light bulb – it’s just the cutest!

This one went together in about 3 seconds flat.  So – hang on!

I started with a regular Tranquil Tide card base, folded in a vertical tent.  Using some sticky notes, I laid the card flat on my work space and masked the back off.  Then I stamped the little burned out image from Watts of Occasions in Tranquil Tide all across the front.  I did not use my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig…just eyeballed it!

I cut a piece of my Canson 90lb Cold-Pressed Watercolor Paper for the sentiment banner.  I cut the end with my Banner Triple Punch.  I don’t know if you can tell it – but I cut the other end to make it a little catty-wampus.  Can you see that?  I wanted it to look….sort of too-tired-to-even-be-straight!

I stamped the image in Basic Black Archival Ink and when it was dry, used my Aqua Pen to quickly brush some Tranquil Tide across his face.  Then I stamped the sentiment – crookedy-ly! – in more Basic Black Archival Ink.

The second banner is cut to the same dimensions – including the catty-wampus “straight” side – in Daffodil Delight card stock.  Then I embossed it in my Polka Dot Basic TIEF.

To assemble the card front, I used a strip or two of Fast Fuse to adhere some loop-d-loops of Silver Mini Sequin Trim, then I popped the banners over the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  And…done! 🙂

On the inside, I used a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the Watts of Occasions heart-bulb in Basic Black Archival Ink in the corner.  Then I gave it a quick brush of Powder Pink with my Aqua Pen.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into the card base and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got the heart-bulb image in Powder Pink on the front…

…and a few more times on the envelope flap.  I used sticky notes to protect the front of the envelope while I did this part!

Et Voila!  This is such a fun a little set – the images are super cute and, if you like puns, then the sentiments in this one are definitely for you!  Hope you like!

Great card to have on hand since that state of mind tends to overtake us all! The face IS the cutest.
Hopin’ you’re safely gathered in, ere the ‘summer’ storms begin.

Oh, and when Clara is in her back for a belly rub, her mouth gets a little Cujo-esque too. And we know that is beyond the pale. 😃
