Stampin’ Up! Sheet Music Carols of Christmas

It’s….HAWWWMP Day, y’all!  More to the point – it’s looking good to go home on Friday.  So…two days and a wake-up then home home home!

Which is good!

My card today corresponds with the announcement I alluded to yesterday!

Starting on 1 August, Stampin’ Up! is opening an Early Release of the Carols of Christmas stamp set and the matching Card Front Builder Thinlits – you can even order the bundle and save 10%!!  And – if you’ve got Bonus Days Coupons, you can “spend” them on these fun Christmas goodies.  And – did you know that you can use multiple Bonus Days coupons on a single order?

Yes, indeed!

So – do the math.  Buy the bundle and save 10%.

Collect three or four or even five – or more – coupons and take the $10 – $15….you get the picture…off.  Think of the savings!

And – I can’t even do the math if you…joined Stampin’ Up! now and got the Carols of Christmas stamp set free in the Essentials Pack.  Then in August…take your 20% demonstrator discount off the Card Front Builder Thinlits and apply a few Bonus Days coupons!

Mind…Blown! 🙂

Watch for more information on the Carols Of Christmas bundle and how to order it as we get closer to the 1st, okay?

Last week, for my Sunday video, I made a card using this cool new bundle.  You can see it right here if you missed it!  I made another card today, but it looks completely different.  This time I added the new (and very very high on my list of favorite new stamps) Sheet Music background stamp.  Take a look-see:

My layout was inspired by the TGIF Sketch challenge this week.

..and it turned out that the CAS(ual) Fridays challenge was…

I started this one with a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, and on it I stamped the Sheet Music image in Soft Suede ink.  Then I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake.  Okay – maybe a little more than the edges – I even lightly went across the entire middle of the panel.  Then I matted it on a piece of Cherry Cobbler.

Next I cut a length of new 1/4″ Copper Trim and carefully pulled it apart so that it looks like some netting.  Using a short strip of Fast Fuse, I adhered the copper “net” to the card front.

My two banners are next, and I cut one from a piece of Cherry Cobbler DSP from the Be Merry DSP.  I lightly sponged it with my almost-dry Crumb Cake Sponge Dauber – just enough to make the white stars…not-so-white!  I punched the end into a banner with my Banner Triple Punch and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.

The second banner is cut from some Copper Foil and embossed in the Woodland TIEF.  I cut the end with my Banner Triple Punch and adhered it over the top of the first banner.

I wrapped some Linen Thread three times around the card front, securing it in the back with tape.  I used another little piece of tape on the front to pull the three strands together underneath where I knew my sentiment would go.

Speaking of the sentiment, it’s from the Carols of Christmas stamp set (duh, right?) and is heat embossed in Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  I cut it out with a Stitched Shapes Framelits oval, sponged the edges with Crumb Cake and matted it on Cherry Cobbler – cut with a scalloped die from the Ovals Layering Framelits.  Then I popped it over the banners with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the two corner flower dies in the Card Front Builder THinlits, I cut two corners from another bit of Copper Foil.  I added a few of the copper flower cut-outs to the side of the sentiment oval – two with Liquid Glue and one with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.  Then I tied a double length bow of Linen Thread and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I started with another panel of Very Vanilla and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake.  Then I took those two Copper Foil cut out corners and fussy cut them to make them into flower-edged corners.  And I adhered them to the card panel with Liquid Glue.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Soft Suede card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a little light sponging with Crumb Cake and then – when the sponging was completely dry – I stamped a few of the flowers and holly sprigs from the Carols of Christmas stamp set in Versamark Ink and heat embossed them with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder…

… and I added a few more flowers and holly leaves in Copper on the envelope flap, too (you can’t see them – but they’re on both ends of the flap)!

Et Voila!  Carols of Christmas and the matching Card Front Builder Thinlits is going to be one of the most versatile Christmas bundles in your stash this year – and for many years to come!  Hope you like – and are busily planning on grabbing it up as soon as it’s available on the 1st of August!

  1. So pretty Mary! Love the copper touches and your layering is perfect. Great design! 🙂

  2. Kate

Y’all had me at the first staff and clef sign. Beautiful!

  3. That copper ribbon, the banners and the background stamp make me jubilant…so does your anticipated departure from hot, humid FL. Have a great day.

  4. Beautiful card, Mary! Love the copper and the sponging and the woodland embossing, and……
Well, I think you get the drift. The flowers look like stars to me on the card and on the inside. Only when stamped do they look like the poinsettias they are supposed to be. Stars are good for Christmas too, so it isn’t a problem. In fact, I think I like stars better for this card. I love your attention to detail.

  5. That is beautiful, Mary. I love all of your sponging and the copper just sets it all off! Love it!

  6. Pam

That is soooo beautiful – my favorite so far that I’ve seen with this stamp set. Thanks so much for all the detailed instructions and measurements.

  7. Lisa Kind

Beautiful card! I love the colors you used and the copper gives it a lovely shine! Thanks for playing our CAS-ual Fridays challenge!

PS…my dog smiles too! So cute!

    • Thanks much, Lisa – and I appreciate you stopping to leave a comment! I was surprised at how vicious he looks when it’s captured in a photo – cuz it doens’t look like that at all when he’s doing it. LOL!! 🙂

  8. Love all the texture! Thanks for playing along with us at CAS-ual Fridays Challenge 🙂
