Stampin’ Up! Eclectic Eastern Medallion Card

Happy Monday, y’all!  Back to work with you!

And me! 🙂

If you were able to join me last night on my Facebook Live video – thanks so much! – then you saw the step-by-step instructions on how to make today’s card.  If you didn’t get a chance to hop on while I was live, then here’s your chance to see the re-play!

The card focuses on the super pretty Eastern Medallion Suite – with the Eastern Beauty stamp set and the Eastern Medallion Thinlits taking front and center.  I added some pretty paper from the Naturally Eclectic DSP.  Take a look-see:

I played along with a color challenge at My Favorite Things.

And – this was actually the first card that I made for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!

The card front is a piece of Night of Navy paper from the beautiful Naturally Eclectic DSP – I am really loving this stack of paper!!  It’s matted on Smoky Slate.

The center is a simple of piece of Whisper White, also matted on Smoky Slate.

I added a sentiment from the Eastern Beauty stamp set – in Cherry Cobbler ink – placed to skim the edges of my layered Eastern Medallion die cuts.

The video shows which of the several dies in the Eastern Medallion Thinlits I used – and the stack is in Smoky Slate and Marina Mist card stock.  The layers are simply adhered to each other with Liquid Glue,

I put 4 or 5 Glue Dots around the back of the medallion stack and used them to wind some Silver Metallic Thread around and around.  Then I adhered the whole thing to the card front with some more Liquid Glue.  I finished it off with a Clear Faceted Gem.

On the inside, I stamped a tiny flourish image from Eastern Beauty in Cherry Cobbler across the bottom of a Whisper White panel.  Above that, I added a Smoky Slate-matted piece of Naturally Eclectic DSP.

I SNAILd the panel to a Smoky Slate mat and into my Cherry Cobbler card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Eastern Beauty flourishes across the front…

…and a little more of the Naturally Eclectic DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Another example of the versatility of the Eastern Medallion Thinlits – and I just love the two curved sentiments in the coordinating Eastern Beauty stamp set – don’t you?  Hope you like!

Very pretty! Couldn’t join you last night as I am visiting my daughter. Will look at video tonight. For you, another week down. 🙂

  2. So, my guess at it being a card for 4th of July was incorrect! That was a good tease, Mary. SU’s DSP this year is out of the world. I really like how you made everything come together.

    • Yea – it was accidently patriotic – not on purpose! I know – the paper is amazing this year! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  3. Very pretty! Enjoyed your video last night too! Happy Monday…well, at last as happy as a Monday can be! 😉

Hi Mary, must admit that the paper choice is perfect. That side is growing on me. The card is lovely!
    Have a good week.

  5. Kate

    Very nice!

  6. Beautiful take on the sketch!
