Stampin’ Up! Happy Celebrations Birthday!

Good morning!  Welcome back to your work-week, y’all!  Well – and mine, too, of course!

Hey!  Guess what tomorrow is?  Yep – it’s the day SU! releases the new Sale-A-Bration goodies!  Two stamp sets and a pack of too-cool Glimmer Paper!  Whoo-hoo!

And, as one last little teaser, I used some of the Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper as a little accent for my birthday card – the basis for which is the Happy Celebrations stamp set.  Take a look-see:

I played along with two challenges on this one.  The first one is from The Paper Players

And my colors came from the Fab Friday color challenge.

This is a quickie card to put together, thanks to the fun multi-step Happy Celebrations stamp set!

I started with a plain piece of Whisper White card stock.  In the center, using the first step in the “Happy” image, I stamped it in Peekaboo Peach.  Then I stamped the second image in Calypso Coral.  I also stamped the final – outline – image in Calypso Coral.

Underneath, I stamped the second sentiment in Rich Razzleberry.  Then, using my Peekaboo Peach Stampin’ Write Marker to add a bunch of little three-dot dots around the sentiment.

In each corner of the panel, in Peekaboo Peach, I stamped the little confetti image from the Balloon Adventures stamp set.

To add just a little bling – but still keep it Clean-and-Simple for the challenge, I cut several stars from the Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper, using the die in the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.  With some Liquid Glue, I adhered them over the confetti images in the corner.  Then I SNAILd the panel to a Bermuda Bay mat and the card front was done!

On the inside, I simply repeated the Balloon Adventures confetti in Peekaboo Peach and added a few more Glimmery Bermuda Bay stars.

I SNAILd the panel to a Bermuda Bay mat and then to a Peekaboo Peach mat and into my Rich Razzleberry card base.  On the front, I SNAILd a Peekaboo Peach mat directly to the front of the card base and popped my card front over that with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some more Balloon Adventures confetti on the front…

…and on the envelope flap, I stamped another Happy Celebrations sentiment in Bermuda Bay.

Et Voila! Quick – clean – simple.  And the sentiment is for darned sure front and center, huh?  Hope you like!

FINN-FAN FIX….

The other day, I got a comment – a very nice one! – that asked how, with all I have to do, I can keep making a new card every day!  The answer?  I spend a lot of time way behind!! 🙂

This weekend is a prime example.  It was the weekend of errands.  Costco.  Grocery store.  Horse Feed.  Doens’t sound like a lot – but Costco by itself takes a full day.  It’s an Atlanta thing!

And let’s not forget the Finn-constitutional in the morning…

finn-with-a-too-big-stick
He likes to carry big sticks!  And he’s really pretty quiet – you might even say he speaks softly!

And on Sunday, we went to Tractor Supply to get horse feed – and we got his first bag of Adult Dog Food!  Yep – on 1 May, we’ll start mixing the big boy food in with the puppy food!  Can you even believe he’s almost a year old!? 🙂

Finn had a good time.  His obedience was a little slack – it was really busy there, lots of distractions.  But he got some pettings and lots of people admired his handsome self (one lady did think he was a Collie, though!).  And he got to ride in the new truck!

I don’t think he was ready to be done with the adventure, do you?

A good weekend.

But – I’m behind again…go figure! 🙂

  1. Costco…yes, the days when my hubby and I would go there for a lunch date with all the samples! We had to give up our membership due to the distance. Now we are BJ members but they don’t serve samples like Costco did. Tractor Supply would take another half day for my husband and son so we stay away. However, if we knew Finn and you were going to be there, we’d be on it!! He is truly handsome. Oh, but this post is about your card…what a nice compliment! I’m sure it helped you catch up because that stamp set is so easy to work with but dramatic in effect. BUT, you really got me on those stars. Hurry up “tomorrow” so I can add the new glimmer paper to it. You ARE a tease! …and the 3 dot dots (adore them). I haven’t done those dots in awhile…nor dashes. Speaking of dashes, I think I’m going to make a dash for my stash. Have a great week, Mary.

    • Yep – it was a full weekend of errands! We used to have a Costco pretty easy to get to (if that phrase is ever accurate in Atlanta!) but now…it’s a significant emotional event to go up there. We also do Sam’s and BJ’s – but we’re a Costco family from way back! You are going to LOVE the Glimmer Paper, Karen – can’t wait for you to get some in your stash!! Thanks much! 🙂

  2. Great card Mary!! Love the clean design and those little glittery stars add the perfect touch. 🙂

  3. Mary, this came out GORGEOUS! Your attention to detail on this card is just delightful – love those little dots! And the Bermuda stars are perfect, lol. Love everything about this bright and cheery card! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!

Cool card. Like the happy celebrations set. It is on my (very long) list. Not sure about the color challenge, though you made a lovely card using it. Guess I get stuck in a rut. That’s why I need you!
Finn looks not only handsome, but very intelligent! Glad we are both members of the ‘always behind’ club, though it would be nice to unjoin.

    • Haha – I keep looking for the “unsubscribe” button, but… nada! Thanks, Julie – as you keep doing this, you’ll start to make forays out of your comfort zone! That’s what happened to me! I still like snuggling down in my wheelhouse, though!! 🙂

  5. Fun card with that new glimmer paper and that awesome stamp set! Love the CAS look, too.

  6. Kathelyn

I look forward to the daily Finn-fix!!!
