Stampin’ Up! Sending Love and Sunshines Wishes

Mornin’, y’all!  Here we are on Super Bowl Sunday! I don’t understand why the game is so danged late!  What do people do at Super Bowl parties all day?  Well – I know they drink a lot of beer.  But…what else?  There’s no game to watch until after dinner.  So…?  Do folks eat nachos and wings for dinner?  Why isn’t the game at 1?  That time makes a lot more sense for a big game.

Besides.  By the time one-hour of game play is crammed into 5 hours…I’m going to have a heckuva time staying awake!  It’ll be like trying to stay up to see New Year’s come in!

Finn isn’t interested in the game.  Although, if he watched, he’d probably see that it’s sort of like keep-away!  One of his favorite games.  The only thing better than keep-away is a solid game of tug!  Which he’s really good at playing!  He can set his 60 pounds back against a stick and lock those pearly whites around his bumper or a frisbee or a stick and….you’re not getting it until he gives up.

And he doesn’t give up!!

Ever…

My card for today is a study in Red, White and Silver/Gray.  And, while it uses hearts from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and the Sending Love DSP – it’s not a Valentine’s Card.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this card – as well as the use of the flowers in the DSP and the interlocked hearts, comes from this week’s Fusion Challenge.

And the colors are from the TGIF Challenge.

I started with a piece of the Sending Love DSP stack paper and SNAILd it to a Smoky Slate card stock mat.  The middle panel, a piece of Whisper White card stock, is embossed with the Woodgrain TIEF, SNAILd to a Smoky Slate mat and then onto the card front.

Then I pulled out the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, and cut a heart from Real Red card stock and Silver Foil.  I adhered those to the card front with Liquid Glue.  The sentiment – also from Sunshine Wishes – is cut once from Silver Foil and twice from Real Red, then stacked and adhered with Liquid Glue.  I adhered it over the hearts with more Liquid Glue.

For the little tassel, I used some Real Red 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon, doubled over and adhered to the card front with a Glue Dot.

The three little hearts are from the Sending Love Embellishments – I smooshed two of them in my Real Red ink pad, and the third in my Whisper White Craft Ink pad.  The white heart is stuck on with a Glue Dot and the two reds with Liquid Glue.  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I used the swath image and stamped it in Smoky Slate (stamped off once) in the middle of a Whisper White panel.  Over that I stamped a Real Red sentiment from Sunshine Sayings (the matching stamp to the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits).  In the bottom corner I added the flower image from Sunshine Sayings in Real Red – I stamped it twice without re-inking.

I SNAILd the panel to a Smoky Slate mat and into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a repeat of the Sunshine Sayings flower….

,,,and I added some more of the Sending Love DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think this card is going to be perfect for the intended recipient – for whom the Silver will be meaningful!  A friend  – and one of my great downline demonstrators!! – just promoted to Silver!  So, this will be perfect for her.  Now – if you wanted to make it a Valentine’s Card, just use the “love” sentiment from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits instead of “Congrats” – pretty handy bundle.  Hope you like! 🙂

You beautifully combined so many elements ….. this is lovely! I like the woodgrain embossed panel as a subtle background for your hearts and sentiment. Your downline friend will treasure this creation! Mighty Finn is certainly lookin’ good in today’s photo. LOL

  3. Awesome card Mary! Love those die cut hearts and the colors scheme is perfect. Sweet picture of Finn today…he’s gotten so big!

    • He’s defintiely a grown up now – although I suppose technically he’s still a puppy. Have to keep reminding ourselves of that! Thanks much, Amy! 🙂

Beautiful card……sure could be used for a V-day card with just a little tweek!! Man am I with you girl on that game time!! Geez, why wait until dark-thirty for a big game like the Super Bowl……plus all the working people that party……must be a lot of “sick” call ins on Monday!! You can only eat so many wings & dips & then fight to stay awake for the final score!! We should sign a petition……would it do any good?? 🙂

    • A woman after my own heart! I’ll for sure sign the petition, which will make all the difference. I’m quite sure that will mean SB LII will kickoff at 1200 central!! 😉 Thanks much, Karen! 🙂
