Stampin’ Up! Iconic Occasions Sealed with Love

Happy freakin’ Friday, y’all!  I am so so glad it’s the end of this week – work’s been all feast and no famine all week!  Sheesh!

So today, while I was sitting in the kitchen on the phone, computer on my lap…I saw a blur out the back door.  While continuing to chat with my boss, I craned my neck to see what it was.

You guessed it – it was Finn!  Racing hell-bent-for-leather around the pond, little wiggle-butt tucked up underneath him.  And he was…soaked!  He hadn’t been all the way in, but he was sopping wet up to his shoulders.

Apparently he’d been having just an awesome good time!  He came flying to the back door – and I made him go around to the other door to get toweled off.  He was panting like a steam engine and just a-laughing and a-laughing!  A very happy boy, indeed! 🙂

And then he came in to eat the rest of his breakfast and have a huge nap!  A very tired boy, indeed! 😉

My card for today is a bright and cheery Valentine’s card or a card for…almost any day!  I used the Host-Exclusive Iconic Occasions and the fun Sealed with Love stamp sets.  Take a look-see:

The only difficult part of this card was getting my lines and columns straight (ish!).  I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for the hearts from the Iconic Occasions stamp set.  The Sealed with Love set is photopolymer, so I used my calibrated Mark-1 eyeball to get those kisses where they needed to be.

I used Rose Red ink and stamped three times without re-inking on a Whisper White panel.  Starting at the top with full strength, then down the column.  When you make this card – just take your time and think ahead of each stamp.  Otherwise, you might forget which stamp needs to be stamped where and what ink strength it needs.

Don’t ask how I know this! 🙂

Once I had all the little images in place (handy that the “kiss” image in Sealed with Love is so close in size to the little hearts image in Iconic Occasions!), I added the sentiment from Sealed with Love in Chocolate Chip ink.  Then I SNAILd the panel to a piece of Chocolate Chip card stock.

The card front is a piece of Subtles Designer Series Paper in Blushing Bride, SNAILd to a Chocolate Chip mat.  I adhered two Lace Doilies with their Whisper White side up, using little dabs of Liquid Glue.  Then I SNAILd my stamped and matted panel over the top.

I wrapped some Blushing Bride Solid Baker’s Twine twice around the card front, securing it in the back with scotch tape.  Then I tied a little bow, catching a Sending Love Embellishment in the bow, and adhering it with a Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I used an Iconic Occasions heart in stamped-off-once Rose Red ink in the middle of a Whisper White panel.  Over the top, I added a second Sealed with Love sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink.  Then I added a strip of the Blushing Bride Subtles DSP, matted on Chocolate Chip.  I used some Liquid Glue to add another Sending Love Embellishment.

I SNAILd the panel to a Chocolate Chip mat and into my Rose Red card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

For my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added stamped-off-once Rose Red Iconic Occasions hearts across the front (Hint:  stamp both ends, then stamp in the middle, then stamp between the images.  That’ll help you get them evenly spaced across the envelope!)…

…and then I added more of the Blushing Bride Subtles DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think this one is kind of fun – I love the ombre effect of the “table” of images – achieved with judicious stamping and non-re-inking!  Hope you like!
