Stampin’ Up! Love Sparkles Celebration Card!

Happy St. Paddy’s Day, y’all!  I assume you’ve got your Corned Beef and cabbage cued up for dinner tonight!  And some green beer.

Why would anyone want to drink green beer?  I’m not a fan of regular colored beer – let alone green.

But I do like me some Corned Beef and Cabbage – and I’ve got mine in the crock pot already!

Now, for all that, I really didn’t make a St. Patrick’s day card.  I gave my card a little nod to the day – using a surprise from the Sealed with Love stamp set – to set off my Love Sparkles sentiments.  Take a look-see:

This layout was inspired by the sketch at the Global Design Project.

I seem to be on a Mint Macaron/Island Indigo kick these past couple of weeks – I hope you’ll forgive me!

I started with a simple piece of Whisper White card stock.  I made some stylized “shamrocks” using the heart image from the Sealed With Love stamp set, inking the image in Mint Macaron and stamping it three times in a rough circle.  Then I used my Mint Macaron Stampin’ Write Marker to give each shamrock a little stem.

Across the bottom of the panel, I used some Liquid Glue to adhere a narrow strip of Blooms & Bliss DSP.  I SNAILd the panel to an Island Indigo mat, then I covered the seam with a length of Mint Macron 3/8″ Sheer Linen Ribbon.  I also wrapped some Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine around the card front, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

My sentiment, from the pretty Love Sparkles stamp set, is double-stamped on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I stamped it once in Mint Macaron, then used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp it a second time – ever so slightly offset – in Island Indigo.

Then I cut the sentiment with a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle and added the “to you” in Island Indigo.  This is just the first part of one sentiment stamp in the Love Sparkles set.  I covered the half I didn’t want with a sticky note, inked the first portion and, positioning it with my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, stamped it below the first sentiment.

I cut a scallop circle from a piece of Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper.  Using my 1″ Circle Punch, I punched a hole in the middle of the glimmer circle then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.  I popped the sentiment circle over the top with a Stampin’ Dimensional, aligning the dimensional inside the hole I’d cut in the glimmer paper mat.

To finish off the card front, I tied a bow from three lengths of Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On the inside, I added a second Love Sparkles sentiment, using the same Mint Macaron and Island Indigo offset stamping that I’d done on the front.  Then I added a couple more Mint Macaron shamrocks with the Sealed With Love heart and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Write Marker.

I SNAILd the panel to an Island Indigo mat and into my Mint Macaron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Sealed With Love Mint Macaron shamrocks on the front…

…and a little more of the Blooms & Bliss DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Mint Macaron shamrocks, courtesy of Sealed With Love.  And a couple of really cute sentiments – love the font with the little sparkles all over it on this Love Sparkles stamp set.  Hope you like! 🙂

FINN-FAN FIX….

You know, I buy Finn toys.

And chew bones.

And tennis balls.

And Frisbees.

Even joined the Pet Perks club to try to get some specials.

He doesn’t want for much.

Or…anything.

Which is why it’s funny and not pitiful when he’s enamored with a…vegetable oil bottle.

He appears to enjoy kicking it and then chasing it.  And he had it behind the house, rolling it down the little hill in the dry and crunchy leaves.  And boing-ing after it!!

He’s a trip, for sure!

Stampin’ Up! Iconic Occasions Sealed with Love

Happy freakin’ Friday, y’all!  I am so so glad it’s the end of this week – work’s been all feast and no famine all week!  Sheesh!

So today, while I was sitting in the kitchen on the phone, computer on my lap…I saw a blur out the back door.  While continuing to chat with my boss, I craned my neck to see what it was.

You guessed it – it was Finn!  Racing hell-bent-for-leather around the pond, little wiggle-butt tucked up underneath him.  And he was…soaked!  He hadn’t been all the way in, but he was sopping wet up to his shoulders.

Apparently he’d been having just an awesome good time!  He came flying to the back door – and I made him go around to the other door to get toweled off.  He was panting like a steam engine and just a-laughing and a-laughing!  A very happy boy, indeed! 🙂

And then he came in to eat the rest of his breakfast and have a huge nap!  A very tired boy, indeed! 😉

My card for today is a bright and cheery Valentine’s card or a card for…almost any day!  I used the Host-Exclusive Iconic Occasions and the fun Sealed with Love stamp sets.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Sealed With Love You Lots!

Well, it’s Monday again.  A-freakin’-mazing how fast the weekend flies by.  I wonder if it would if I was “really” retired?  Would I still get the Sunday-afternoon-blues?  Hmm.  Not sure.

So – I had a bit of a revelation this weekend.  Ready?  Here ’tis.

Mrs. Brady had it made.

Not cuz they knew it was much more than a hunch.

Not even cuz all the girls had hair of gold like their mother (the youngest one in curls).

Nope.

It was Alice!

Mrs. Brady had Alice.

I don’t even know if she realized how good she had it – her fake tv house was always clean – fake dinner was always ready and the fake dishes were always done.

And – thanks to Alice – Mrs. Brady wouldn’t even have gotten upset over…

finn-and-toy-stuffing
That used to be the stuffed squeaky toy he got for Christmas.  I think one of those white things is the squeaky thing…

Sigh…9 months.  15 more months of chewie….sigh…. Alice would just cheerfully vacuum up the mess.  No.  Wait – she’d pick up all the pieces, stuff them back in the toy and sew it up.  All while a lovely roast was cooking in the oven.

I want need Alice!! 😉

Now – my card for today is another Valentine’s Day card or a hey-I-really-love-you-here’s-a-card card.  I used the Annual Catalog host-exclusive set called Love You Lots, plus a few goodies from the Sealed with Love Bundle.  And threw in a little…Grateful Bunch!  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! All Things Thanks Delicate Details Sneak Peek!

Mornin’, y’all.  Will soon be on my way home to my wiggle butt!  Can hardly wait to see the little mongrel! 🙂

So.  Remember me saying that I thought the cats are “playing” Finn?  Pretending to be afraid of him and running so he chases them and gets scolded?

Yea.

We got proof.  Wayne told me today that he set a tuna fish can on the floor for Katy.  She’d come into the kitchen when she smelled the tuna, brazenly disregarding the fact that Finn was in there having his dinner.  She commenced to working on the tuna can – even when Finn came over the see what she had that smelled so darned good!  Wayne told me Finn would try to stick his nose in the can and Katy would pull it away from him with her paw.  So they were nose-to-nose.  Tuna is worth showing your hand paw over, apparently.

Well – the jig is up, Katy.  We’ve got your number now.  Hoisted on her own petard tuna can, she was!

Poor little maligned and always-so-innocent-would-never-do-anything-wrong Finn….duped by a feline! 😉

Now.  On to the card for today.  One of the pretty new stamp sets coming soon in the 2017 Occasions Catalog is called All Things Thanks.  I’m betting you can figure out what its theme is, yes?  I used that, and combined it with one of the stamp sets you’ll be able to earn Free in Sale-A-Bration called Delicate Details.  Look what I got when I put it on top of the oh-so-pretty Falling In Love DSP.  Take a look-see:

My design played along with the Fab Friday sketch this week.

fabfri101-sketch
I started with a piece of the Bokeh print paper in the Falling In Love DSP.  Using one of the pretty lace images in the Sale-A-Bration Delicate Details stamp set, I stamped in Sahara Sand several times.  I started about 1/3 of the way up the panel and overlapped each image a little bit as I stamped on down the panel.  When I was done, I SNAILd the DSP to a Sahara Sand mat.

all-things-thanks-delicate-details-2-stamps-n-lingers
I wrapped a piece of Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim around the card front, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

My sentiment, from All Things Thanks, is stamped in Sweet Sugarplum on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Then I cut it out with a Squares Layering Framelit.  I decided to add a little sumpin’ sumpin’ to the panel, so I pulled out my Sealed with Love stamp set (also coming in the 2017 Occasions Catalog) and stamped the little fleur-diddle-dee-dee above the sentiment in Blushing Bride.

I matted the sentiment on a scalloped edge square of Sahara Sand card stock, cut with the Squares Layering Framelits.  Then I popped the whole thing onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

all-things-thanks-delicate-details-8-stamps-n-lingers
For a little more texture, I adhered a couple of wooden hearts from the Sending Love Embellishment pack, using some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  And I finished it up with a tiny bow tied with Linen Thread adhered with an oh-so-tiny drop of Liquid Glue.  And that was it for the card front! 🙂

On the inside, I SNAILd a piece of Very Vanilla card stock to a Sahara Sand mat.  Then I matted a strip of Falling in Love DSP to another strip of Sahara Sand and then to the panel.  Over that I wrapped a length of the Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

all-things-thanks-delicate-details-5-stamps-n-lingers
I SNAILd the liner into my Blushing Bride card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got one of the Sealed with Love fleur-de-doo’s in Blushing Bride on the front, plus a couple of flowerdy hearts  in the corners…

all-things-thanks-delicate-details-6-stamps-n-lingers
…and some more of the oh-so-pretty Falling in Love DSP on the envelope flap.

all-things-thanks-delicate-details-7-stamps-n-lingers
Et Voila!  I think this would be a perfect card for a new bride to send as a thank you, don’t you?  These are both wonderful stamp sets, and I think the Falling in Love DSP is about the prettiest I’ve seen in a long while! Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Sealed with Love Bundle….Sneak Peek!

Hey y’all!  It’s Tuesday again!  Only a week and a bit before Thanksgiving!  And then full-tilt into Christmas.  Hard to believe it’s already so close!

Finn’s developed a love-hate relationship with our deer.  He loves to chase them and they hate him.  Or…they act like they hate him.  He’ll give chase if not on the leash, but he gives up pretty quickly.  Scares the you-know-what out of me – I panic and go flying after him in the golf cart and he’s right around a tree.  Laughing at me.

Well, he looks like he’s laughing, anyway.

The deer flip their tails at him, and I think they bound away making it look like they’re going really fast?  But, in truth, they’re in moderate-boing mode.

This morning in our travels, we spent a little time playing with the fire-hose covered bumper.  One of the 2.3 million toys I bought for his entertainment.  He’s got quite a pair of springs for legs!  He was leaping up like 4′ in the air trying to catch the bumper while I swung it for the throw!  Hopefully I can channel that into some Frisbee!

finn-with-red-bumper

You guys watch for us in the Purina Incredible Dog challenge in a few years!  I’ll be the fat girl trying to keep up with my uber-fast-and-fit incomplete-neck-collar Aussie! 🙂

Now – the card for the day!  You’re going to recognize my color scheme – I used Real Red, Mint Macaron and Emerald Envy again – just like yesterday.  But today’s card is a Valentine’s card.  Or a…I just love you lots card!  And it perfectly showcases the Occasions Catalog bundle called Sealed With Love.  This stamp set, of the same name, and the coordinating Love Notes Framelits are part of the Sending Love Suite of products.

I used some of the pretty Red and White Sending Love DSP Stack to make this card.  Take a look-see:
