Good morning, y’all – hope you had a good Saturday, maybe did some card making. Thanks to those of you who left a comment yesterday and are now entered to win the blog candy! If you didn’t – there’s still time. Here’s a link – you can go get entered right now, if you like!
Before we get started, I want to thank the ladies over at The Paper Players – they selected my Large Letters Outdoor Adventure card as one of the Cut Above winners the other day! That’s a wonderful honor and was a really nice surprise yesterday. Thanks, y’all! If you want to see that project – check it right here!
Part of the entry for the blog candy is to share with us what your favorite 2016 Holiday Catalog product is. The Cookie Cutter bundle has gotten several votes! Which is an interesting coincidence….but, is it really?!?…cuz that’s what I used for my card today! 🙂 I combined Cookie Cutter Halloween with several fun stamp sets – Spooky Fun and Halloween Scares. When I put them all together using the Triple Time card technique, here’s what I ended up with. Take a look-see:
I cut three pieces of Very Vanilla card stock for the stacked card front. Using a little dab of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, I adhered them together in a stack. You don’t want them permanently glued down – you’re going to take them apart in just a minute – so don’t use gobs and gobs of glue!
To start, I stamped the sentiment from Spooky Fun in Pumpkin Pie on the smallest of the panels. Then I used the Halloween Scares haunted house, inking it with Basic Black Archival Ink, and stamping it a few times around the stacked layers.
Next came the little pumpkin from Halloween Scares, stamped all over in Pumpkin Pie ink. I added the spider web and the three-ghosts image – both from Spooky Fun, using Smoky Slate for the web and Basic Gray Archival Ink for the ghosts.
I flicked the edges of each panel with a sponge inked with Basic Black Archival Ink, then I SNAILd them all to their Pumpkin Pie mats. I dry stacked the layers, and touched up any areas of the images that didn’t get fully stamped (mostly the Haunted House!) with my Basic Black Stampin Write Marker. Then I SNAILd all the matted layers together.
Here’s the only piece of this you have to watch out for – make sure that when you SNAIL the layers together, that you have them all in the right direction (in other words – the same way you had them while you were stamping them!).
For the little Cookie Cutter Halloween vampire, I stamped him in Basic Black Archival Ink on Very Vanilla and punched him out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. I punched him a second time on a piece of Pumpkin Pie paper in the Halloween Nights DSP. Using my paper snips, I cut out his tiny vest and then adhered it to him with a little bit of Liquid Glue. I used my Gold Wink of Stella to color his tiny cross. He’s a stylin’ Vamp! While I had Stella out, I colored all the windows and doors of the Haunted Houses, too.
On the inside, I stamped more Spooky Fun spider webs and ghosts in Smoky Slate and Basic Gray Archival Ink onto a Very Vanilla panel.
I flicked the edges with the sponge in Basic Black. I also very very lightly brushed the sponged across the center of the panel. Just to make it a little more…Halloween-y!
Not Halloweenie. That would be completely different! 🙂
I added a second Spooky Fun sentiment in Pumpkin Pie.
For my Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I added some Spooky Fun webs and ghosts to the front…
Et Voila! Spoooooooookkkyyyyyy!! Well, maybe cuuuuuuuttttttttiiiiiieeeee is more accurate! Either way – do try the Triple Time technique, I think you’ll enjoy it and it’ll impress your friends and neighbors! Hope you like! 🙂
