Stampin’ Up! Spooky Halloween Scenes

Mornin’ y’all – welcome to Tuesday.  I’ve got no Finn pics today – we spent yesterday working and playing and I didn’t pull my camera out once!  It’s hard to catch him on the move and he was doing a lot of moving!

We’ve started letting him off the leash a little more when we’re at the barn and down in the arena.  He’s learning to follow or run ahead of the golf cart.  He’s pretty cute – we’ll get done playing ball and head back to the house.  When we get to the horse trough, he makes it quite obvious he’s going to leap off – so we stop.  Pretty good people-trainer, huh?  Then he puts his front paws on the side of the trough and drinks and drinks.

And then we’re allowed to go! 🙂

So, my card today is a Halloween card.  Just in case you didn’t surmise that from the title of the post!  And it’s a fast one – so it’s pretty perfect.  I used the Spooky Fun stamp set, some Halloween Scenes Edgelits, and the Halloween Scares stamp set.  Take a look-see:

spooky-halloween-scenes-4-stamps-n-lingers
I played along with two challenges on this one.  The first, from The Paper Players, inspired the layout.

pp318-sketch
And the second is a photo inspiration challenge from Just Us Girls.

jugs-photo-week-366-sketch
I started with a panel of Elegant Eggplant and stamped the black cat from the Halloween Scares stamp set all over it in Basic Black Archival Ink.  Then I SNAILd it to a mat of Pumpkin Pie card stock.   The next layer is a piece of Halloween Night DSP, SNAILd on Pumpkin Pie and then to the card front.

spooky-halloween-scenes-3-stamps-n-lingers
Next up is a harvest moon, cut with the Circles Layering Framelits from a piece of Crushed Curry card stock.  I cut the black tree with the Halloween Scenes Edgelits and adhered it over the Crushed Curry moon with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, then SNAILd it to the card front.

For my sentiment, I stamped Happy Halloween from the Spooky Fun stamp set in Elegant Eggplant on Whisper White and SNAILd it to a Pumpkin Pie mat.  Then I popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

spooky-halloween-scenes-2-stamps-n-lingers
I stamped another Basic Black Archival Ink cat from Halloween Scares on Whisper White and fussy cut him.  His tail was a little persnickety, but I held my tongue just right between my teeth (on the left side – not the right!) and got it done.  Then I adhered him with a little Liquid Glue.  The final touch was a few Silver stars from the Metallic Enamel Shapes.

On the inside, I stamped the moon from Spooky Fun in Crushed Curry on a Whisper White panel and then stamped the Spooky Fun sentiment over that in Elegant Eggplant.  While I had the Elegant Eggplant out, I stamped a couple more cats in the corner.

spooky-halloween-scenes-5-stamps-n-lingers
I SNAILd the panel to a Pumpkin Pie mat and into my Elegant Eggplant card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some more Elegant Eggplant Spooky Fun cats across the front – and I added a strip of the Hallowen Night DSP, too – just for ducks…

spooky-halloween-scenes-6-stamps-n-lingers
…and then added more of the DSP to the envelope flap.

spooky-halloween-scenes-7-stamps-n-lingers
Et Voila!  Quick, easy and super spooky, right?  I mean….black cats everywhere!  Okay – I don’t really believe all that black cat hooey.  Good thing since I’ve got two of them, huh!?  But, they look good and spooky paired up with a craggy black Halloween Scenes tree in front of a harvest Halloween moon!  Hope you like!

Scroll on down for the card cuts and all the goodies you need to make this one for yourself!

Stampin’ Up! Spooky Halloween Treat!

Good Tuesday!  Hope you’re having a good week so far!

So…y’all know the problem with having a new puppy?  Yep.  That’s all you want to do – play with the puppy, pet the puppy, watch the puppy, take the puppy for walks, laugh at the puppy playing, kiss the puppy nose, yada yada yada.  Makes it extremely hard to do anything else – there just isn’t time! 🙂

Finn – yes, we settled on that, and even used that name at the vet today.  Went to get some flea medicine.  Found out my little puppy weighs 34 pounds!  At 4 months!  I think we settled on Finn too quickly – maybe needs to be Bruno.  Bruiser.  Rocky Balboa.  The Rock!  He’s gonna be huge!

But, for now…he maintains his puppy cute…

img_2831
That’s his new favorite spot – curled right up against the water dish – usually with his ear draped over the edge.  Makes it easy to get a little slurp whenever the mood strikes, doncha know? 🙂

So, in between puppy lovin’s today, I made y’all a quick Halloween card!  This one is one layer.  Almost literally!  Totally a one-postage-stamp card for sure!  It uses the a la carte stamp called Halloween Treat and some pumpkins from Spooky Fun.  Take a look-see:

spooky-halloween-treat-4-stamps-n-lingers
This one works with the Global Design Project challenge #058:

gdp-058-sketch
For the card front, I stamped my design directly to the front of my Crumb Cake card base.  Using the trio-of-pumpkins image from Spooky Fun, I stamped it across the panel in Pumpkin Pie ink.

I colored the pumpkins using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, picking ink up from the lid of my stamp pads.  I colored the middle pumpkin in Calypso Coral, the one on the left (as you look at the card) in Pumpkin Pie, and the other one in Tangerine Tango.  Then I colored the stems in Old Olive with my Stampin’ Write Marker.  For fun, I added faces to a few of the pumpkins, using the images from Spooky Fun, stamping them in Basic Black Archival Ink.

spooky-halloween-treat-2-stamps-n-lingers
For the center art, I used a plain piece of Crumb Cake, and stamped the Halloween Treat image in Early Espresso ink.  I lightly colored the pumpkins with my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker.  I SNAILd the panel directly to the card front and then adhered two strips of Halloween Night Washi Tape across the top and bottom of the panel.

spooky-halloween-treat-3-stamps-n-lingers
I added a little bow, tied with two strands of Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black Baker’s Twine from the Halloween Night Baker’s Twine combo.  I adhered it with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I repeated the Spooky Fun trio of pumpkins, stamping them in Pumpkin Pie and coloring them with the Wink brush, using Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral and Tangerine Tango.  I finished the stems with the Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker, and added Spooky Fun faces in Basic Black Archival Ink.

spooky-halloween-treat-5-stamps-n-lingers
And that was it!  Told ya!

My Crumb Cake Medium Envelope got pumpkins on the front…

spooky-halloween-treat-6-stamps-n-lingers
…and on the back flap!

spooky-halloween-treat-7-stamps-n-lingers
Et Voila!  This is a perfectly simple little card – easy to make and easy to mail!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Ghoulishly Spooky Halloween Fun!

Happy Sunday, y’all!  When you read this – I should be on the road.  On my way to get my surprise!

Are you ready to know what it is?  Actually “it” is a “he”!

Here he is!

puppy-1
This is…well, his name is TBD.  I have a few choices in my head and am hoping he’ll tell me what the right name is when I meet him!  He’s not a rescue – don’t judge me, please, I’m doing enough of that myself! – but…he’s from the same parents as my friend’s Aussie – and she’s a wonderful girl.  So, when he became available, I kind of jumped on him!

Life as we know it now is fixin’ to have a huge upheaval!  It’s been a while since we’ve had a dog in the house and even longer since we had a puppy!  And if I think my life is going to be different, I have a couple of kitties that I’m afraid are in for a bit of a shock when we get home.  Hopefully they’ll forgive me… 🙂

So there it is – the big surprise!  As I hinted, nothing to do with card making!  But, I did make a card for you today.  A Halloween card!  I used the  Spooky Fun stamp set and the matching Halloween Scenes Edgelits, and added in some texture from Ghoulish Grunge.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Spooky Halloween Cookie Cutter Mummy

Happy Friday, y’all!  Hope you’ve had a good week – I have!  I have some exciting news (well, it is for me, at least!) but I’m going to wait to share it on Sunday!

What could it be….what could it be!?  You’ll just have to check back on Sunday!  🙂

My card today is a quick one to make – it really leans heavily on Halloween Night Designer Paper and the fun Cookie Cutter Builder punch.  I used the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set and a sentiment from Spooky Fun.  Take a look-see:

spooky-halloween-cookie-cutter-mummy-4-stamps-n-lingers
My design was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #258:

fms-258-sketch
And my color palette is from The Paper Players #316:

pp316-sketch
I started by SNAILing a piece of Halloween Night DSP to a Wild Wasabi mat for the card front.  Then I did a second, smaller panel with a different design, and SNAILd it to the first panel.  The top panel is a piece of Whisper White card stock, that I embossed in the Brick Wall TIEF, matted on Wild Wasabi and SNAILd it to the card front.

spooky-halloween-cookie-cutter-mummy-2-stamps-n-lingers
I used yet another design of the Halloween Night paper to make the vertical banner strip.  I used my Paper Snips to cut the banner ends on the DSP and the Wild Wasabi mat and used some Liquid Glue to adhere them together and then to the Brick Wall-Embossed panel.

The sentiment, from the Spooky Fun set, is stamped in Pumpkin Pie on Whisper White and matted on Wild Wasabi (can you see a Wild Wasabi trend here??).  Then I popped it over the other panels with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.

spooky-halloween-cookie-cutter-mummy-3-stamps-n-lingers
My Cookie Cutter Halloween Mummy is stamped in Wild Wasabi on Whisper White.  Then I used a Blender Pen to add some more Wild Wasabi ink to shade his mummy wrappings.  I also added just a touch of Crumb Cake to “age” it a bit.  Then I punched him out with the matching Cookie Cutter Builder Punch and used some Liquid Glue to adhere him – sliding him under my popped-up sentiment.

The last piece is the bats.  I stamped them – they’re in the Cookie Cutter Halloween set – in Basic Black Archival Ink on Whisper White.  Then I fussy cut them – yes, a little persnickety.  I adhered one to the end of the sentiment banner with Liquid Glue and the other two I popped on with little pieces of Stampin’ Dimensional.

Little.  Tiny.  Pieces!

And that was it for the card front.

spooky-halloween-cookie-cutter-mummy-1-stamps-n-lingers
On the inside, I stamped a few more Spooky Fun bats in Basic Black Archival Ink on a Whisper White panel.

spooky-halloween-cookie-cutter-mummy-5-stamps-n-lingers
Then I SNAILd the panel to a Wild Wasabi mat and into a Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Spooky Fun bats on the front…

spooky-halloween-cookie-cutter-mummy-6-stamps-n-lingers
…and some of the black Halloween Night DSP to the envelope flap.

spooky-halloween-cookie-cutter-mummy-7-stamps-n-lingers
Et Voila!  Easy peasy!  I wasn’t sure about this color combination when I first started this card – I kept having flashbacks to some unfortunate plaid pants I wore in Junior High – but it turns out to be a suitably spooky and Halloween-y color scheme!  And how cute is that little Cookie Cutter Halloween mummy and his bats?  Hope you like! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Jar of Halloween Haunts and a Blog Candy Winner!

Mornin,’ y’all!  I hope this post finds you all well and safe.  If you’re on the southeast coast of our country and in the path of Hurricane Matthew, please take the very best of care and keep you and yours safe!

I know you’re all anxious to see who won the Blog Candy, so read on down and check it out! 🙂

My card today is another one for Halloween.  I played around with some of the images in Jar of Haunts – including my little spider who was released from his time out for the first time since “the incident” – and a few from Halloween Scares and Spooky Fun!  And – I combined it with….Petals & Paisleys?!?  Yep!  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Spooky Cookie Cutter Halloween Fun!

Good morning, y’all – hope you had a good Saturday, maybe did some card making.  Thanks to those of you who left a comment yesterday and are now entered to win the blog candy!  If you didn’t – there’s still time.  Here’s a link – you can go get entered right now, if you like!

Before we get started, I want to thank the ladies over at The Paper Players – they selected my Large Letters Outdoor Adventure card as one of the Cut Above winners the other day!  That’s a wonderful honor and was a really nice surprise yesterday.  Thanks, y’all!  If you want to see that project – check it right here!

Part of the entry for the blog candy is to share with us what your favorite 2016 Holiday Catalog product is.  The Cookie Cutter bundle has gotten several votes!  Which is an interesting coincidence….but, is it really?!?…cuz that’s what I used for my card today! 🙂  I combined Cookie Cutter Halloween with several fun stamp sets – Spooky Fun and Halloween Scares.  When I put them all together using the Triple Time card technique, here’s what I ended up with.  Take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Spooky, Batty Halloween Fun for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2
Mornin’, y’all –  welcome to another edition of the Happy Stampers Blog Hop. Stampin’ Up! Spooky Fun Halloween Treat!

Good morning!  Hope your Tuesday is looking like it’ll be a good one.  We’ve got the vet coming for the yearly shots and teeth exams and physicals for the horses.  They love when the vet comes.

Sure – and little kids love going to the doctor!  He uses lollipops (or – do they still do that or is everyone too afraid of sugar!?) and I use peppermints.  Yes – they can all be bought with peppermints.  I can call them up in the middle of the day and they’ll come a-runnin’.  Cuz my policy is to alwaysALWAYS – give them a peppermint when they come in.  And I give them a peppermint when they’re all done!

Mary Poppins used a spoonful of sugar – it’s the same idea!

Bribery is a valid form of persuasion! 🙂

For today’s project,  I decided this would be a good time for a Halloween card.  I don’t know why – I just did!  So I used a few new sets from the Holiday Catalog – Spooky Fun, Halloween Scares and the a la carte stamp called Halloween Treat – which is just the cutest image!

Halloween Treat - Stamps-N-Lingers
I combined all these sets with….some By The Shore DSP! I know – a bit unexpected, but…well, take a look-see:

Stampin’ Up! Suite & Spooky Ghoulish Fun!

Well, it’s Monday again, huh?  Sitting and watching the Olympic gymnasts while typing this on Sunday night – really quite amazing what those young ladies can do.  I mean, some of those back flips and double twister somersault twirly-doodles…crazy!  Impressive.  Hopefully they’re all drinking bottled water – and even brushing their teeth with it! Bleh…..

I think I just sprained my ankle watching Simone Biles do “The Biles” – a move so difficult and unique that they named it after her.  She’s remarkable!

And – now we’re seeing a Russian woman (yes, woman – she’s 41!!) who is competing in her SEVENTH Olympics!  Forty-one.  That’s unheard of.  That’s like…a 20 year old Thoroughbred running in the Breeder’s Cup.  That’s like… a 60 year old Quarterback in the NFL.  She’s got a kid the same age as the girls on the USA team.  Good on ya, Oksana Chusovitina!

Well, since I for sure can’t do any of those things they’re doing (at 16 – 41 – or….yea), let’s move swiftly to something I can at least sort of do – make cards!  This one is a Halloween card.  I used the Spooky Fun bundle and added a little Ghoulish Grunge! My sentiment is from Suite Seasons.  Take a look-see:

Suite & Spooky Ghoulish Fun 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
My layout for this one is inspired by the sketch challenge from CAS(E) This Sketch – #184:

CTS #184 Sketch
I started by SNAILing a piece of the Halloween Nights DSP to a Pumpkin Pie mat.

My central art is a Whisper White panel.  Using the spider web from Ghoulish Grunge, I stamped it twice in the top corners in Smoky Slate ink – stamping it off once before stamping the card.  Then I used the net (?) image and stamped it all over – also in stamped-off-once Smoky Slate.  Then I tore all the edges.

Suite & Spooky Ghoulish Fun 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I used a few images from Spooky Fun, stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink to mimic the players in the Suite Seasons sentiment I planned to use.  Bats for the Vampires, the witch and the ghosts!  Then I added the sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink, and SNAILd the panel to the card front.

I pulled out the Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies (the fence and the tree cut the card stock as edgelits – the remainder are framelits – and cut a Basic Black tree and a Smoky Slate fence.  For the decorations, I stamped the gravestones in Basic Black Archival Ink on Whisper White and the pumpkin trio in Tangerine Tango on Whisper White and cut them both with their matching framelits.

Suite & Spooky Ghoulish Fun 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I used Multi[Purpose Liquid Glue to layer on the pieces.  The tree hung over the edge, so I trimmed it with my snips.  I colored the pumpkins with my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I added the little faces – with stamps also in Spooky Fun – and popped them on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Before I called it “done”, I stamped the Ghoulish Grunge spider web again – this time in straight Smoky Slate – letting it got clear to the edge of the card front.  I used my Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker to fill in any gaps – and to “extend ” the web onto the Pumpkin Pie mat.   Then I added some silver star sequins with my Fine Tip Glue Pen – I had those leftover from the Tin of Tags kit I put together over the weekend.  You could for sure use the stars in the Metallic Sequins Assortment!

And that was it for the card front.

Suite & Spooky Ghoulish Fun 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers
On the inside, I stamped the Ghoulish Grunge web again in the top corner of a Whisper White panel, in stamped-off-once Smoky Slate.  I added a Basic Black bat that I’d cut with the Halloween Scenes Edgelits die.  And

Suite & Spooky Ghoulish Fun 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Down in the bottom, I added some more of the pumpkins – cuz why the heck wouldn’t I?!? – then I SNAIL it to a Pumpkin Pie mat and into my Basic Black card base.  I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

Suite & Spooky Ghoulish Fun 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a pumpkin boys again on the front…

Suite & Spooky Ghoulish Fun 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers
…and more of the Halloween Nights DSP for a custom envelope flap.

Suite & Spooky Ghoulish Fun 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Et Voila!  Halloween hasn’t been my favorite of the holidays since I got to be too old to trick-or-treat (which has been a couple of years now)!  But I do really like this bundle – Spooky Fun and the Halloween Scenes Edgelits really are a lot of fun!  And Ghoulish Grunge.  Yet another background/texture stamp set – that’s so darned perfect for Halloween cards that it’s crazy!  I see many more cards between now and 31 Oct with this one. Hope you like! 🙂

Scroll on down for the card cuts and all the goodies you need to make this for yourself!
