Stampin’ Up! Pop of Paradise Hello!

Good morning and welcome to Tuesday! 🙂  I’ve got an icy cold fruit drink for you today.  I know it’s gonna slide down cool and easy.

Well.  It’s a card.  That looks like a drink.  So…it would probably be good to not try to drink or eat it.  Cuz…well, you know….paper!

I was playing with a really tropical palette of colors and it sort of made me lean to the Pop of Paradise stamp set.  So that’s what I used to make a card that you could use for almost any occasion – or just because it’s Tuesday!  Take a look-see:

Pop of Paradise Hello 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Right?  We’re talking raspberry, pineapple and mango slushy….I know you can taste it now!

I told you I had a color palette to work with – it came from Sunday Stamps color challenge #131:

SSC 131 Sketch
We needed to use at least 3 of the colors, plus a neutral – I think I got 4 or 5!

My layout got a little help, too – from the Pals Paper Arts challenge #310:

PPA 301 sketch
I started by making my frozen slushy background – using a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  I took the two leaf images from Pop of Paradise and stamped them all over the panel with Versamark Ink.  Then I sprinkled the whole mess with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  That set me up perfectly for the next step – sponging on my color.

I started at the top and sponged a layer of Melon Mambo.  Then I took up my Daffodil Delight and added it in the middle – letting there be some bleedover/blending between the two colors.  Finally, I added some Pumpkin Pie at the bottom.  I just kept adding color to all three layers until I got it all as deep as I wanted!  Then I wiped any excess off of my embossed leaves.  And matted it on a piece of Emerald Envy card stock.

While I was at it, I sponged a second – non-embossed – panel of Whisper White in the same color scheme.  That’s what I used to cut the two larger circles, cutting them with my Circles Layering Framelits.  The sentiment is from Pop of Paradise, stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper White and punched with my 1 1/4″ Circle Punch.  All three circles got Emerald Envy scalloped mats – courtesy of the Circles Layering Framelits.

Then I made some decorations.  I stamped some leaves in Emerald Envy – and deepened their color with my Emerald Ebvy Stampin’ Write Marker.  For my pineapples – and these are all in the Pop of Paradise set! – I used the marker-to-rubber technique – coloring the fruit with my Delightful Dijon Marker and the leaves with my Emerald Envy Marker.  I used the Crumb Cake Marker to add the little dots on the fruit – just to make the rind look a little more realistic.

Pop of Paradise Hello 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I also stamped Miss Flamingo in Melon Mambo.  And then guess what I did??

Yep – I fussy cut every little piece.

I used some SNAIL to attach all the circles to their mats and then SNAILd the two larger circles to my card front.  Miss Flamingo was first on – with some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue (and a teensy piece of Dimensional to support her little bird head!).  Then I started stacking and piling elements using Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals until it was all in place!

Pop of Paradise Hello 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers
And that was it for the card front…

On the inside, I used another piece of Very Vanilla and stamped a lone pineapple – again with the Delightful Dijon and Emerald Envy Stampin’ Write Markers to color the rubber stamp.  Then I lightly sponged the edges with some Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.

Pop of Paradise Hello 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd it to an Emerald Envy mat and into my Melon Mambo card base.  The front is popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and that was it for the card.

For the Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, I repeated the Pop of Paradise pineapple on the front…

…and added some Emerald Envy leaves to the envelope flap.

Pop of Paradise Hello 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers
Et Voila!  This one just makes me feel happy when I look at it – and I hope that whoever I end up sending it to has the same reaction.  And maybe will go find a frozen and fruity slushy!!  Hope you like! 🙂
