Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves and One Big Meaning for Super Simple Saturday!

Hello from Tampa!  An uneventful drive down – I love my van! – was followed by a tiny fox-pass (that’s southern for faux pas) in the room assignment (room wasn’t ready but they gave me a key anyway!), I’m settled in my room, waiting for Amy Koenders to arrive.  We went out to meet Jari Francis to check out a Taco spot that was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.  I try to check those spots out when I’m in a town – I figure if Guy Fieri ate there and liked it enough to put on the show – then it’s for sure good enough for me.  I’ve had a bunch of truly outstanding meals following his “guidance”!  And – as advertised….really good Fried Grouper Taco!! yummmmm

I’m fixin’ to head out the door, wearing my new Brighton badge lanyard (from my oh-so-wonderful friend and upline Amy Koenders!) and wanted to share quick pic….  this is my view out my window!

There’s the convention center on the near-right where the festivities are about to begin.  There’s even a walk-way from the hotel to the center.  No street crossings! 🙂  Stay tuned for an update  – maybe this evening – on what went on today!

Today’s share is super simple – even if it does take more than one stamp set.  It uses the Vintage Leaves and the One Big Meaning stamp sets, with a little Gorgeous Grunge as a supporting character – and Into the Woods DSP.  I did mine in Tangelo Twist – but you could also do this in any color that coordinates with Into the Woods (like….Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry….all would be great color choices for this design).  See what I mean – take a look-see:

Vintage Leaves One Big Meaning 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I made this with “Fall” as the inspiration – which was the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #22 theme – don’t forget to go check them out.  With this open challenge – I just know there’s going to be lots of great cards!

SIP Challenge #22 Sketch

I started by SNAILing a panel of Tangelo Twist card stock onto a Crumb Cake card base.  For the card front itself, I used a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  First, I stamped the maple from Vintage Leaves in Tangelo Twist – after stamping it off once on scrap paper.  Then I used the Gorgeous Grunge large splatter design to stamp a bunch of times in Crumb Cake across the card.  I stamped off first on every image.  Finally, still using Crumb Cake and still stamping off first, I splattered the small image all over the card.

Vintage Leaves One Big Meaning 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I considered sponging the edges with more Crumb Cake, but decided to leave it plain and crisp.  So I SNAILd it to a piece of Into the Woods DSP.  Yes, it’s true – I have two mats on this card – stop the madness! 🙂

I added a triple-strand bow – one each of Tangerine Tango Baker’s Twine, Linen Thread and Gold Metallic Thread – with a dab of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue and then set the card front aside.  Which turns out to have been a very good plan….

Vintage Leaves One Big Meaning 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from One Big Meaning (I so love this set!!) in Tangelo Twist onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Then I stamped the Vintage Leaves maple in Crumb Cake (stamping off once) in the bottom corner.  I added some Crumb Cake large Gorgeous Grunge splatters and some – wait for it, this is crazy! – Tangelo Twist small splatters!  No rule it has to be exactly the same as the front!  All the splatters were stamped off once.

Vintage Leaves One Big Meaning 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I built up the same matting as the front of the card – Tangelo Twist card stock, Into the Woods DSP, and then the sentiment panel.  I adhered it to the inside of the card.  And that’s when I discovered the wisdom of not sticking the card front on the card before the inside is done.  You see, I’d originally planned the card to be a landscape orientation!!  The inside it pretty obviously not landscape! If I’d stuck my card front on already….I’d have had a bit of a problem that would have required tearing off of something!  Whew!! 😉

I used a Crumb Cake Medium Envelope, which I blinged up on the front with some more Tangelo Twist Vintage Leave and Crumb Cake Gorgeous Grunge splatters….

…and made an Into the Woods DSP envelope liner with my Envelope Liner Framelits!

Vintage Leaves One Big Meaning 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  So super simple and quick!  I think this would be an awesome set of cards to present to someone as a gift – in all the colors of the beautiful Into the Woods DSP!

Hope you enjoyed it!

I’ll bring some news and pics from the Saturday BIG EVENT tomorrow for you!  I can’t wait for our sneak peek at the 2016 Occasions Catalog – which I’ll share with you just as soon as I’m allowed to share! 🙂
