Happy Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all! Here we are – one week and a day from Christmas!! Whoo-hoo!!
I was asked a question the other day – being a horse-person, had I gotten the new Unbridled Beauty (an Online Exclusive coming on 6 Jan) and, if I had, was I going to use it any time soon!?
Doh! 🤦♀️🤦♀️ Of COURSE I had gotten that new set – and of COURSE I needed to use it! So…I did!
I paired it with some Country Woods DSP – in the Annual Catalog – to make this pretty card – would work easy-peasy for a guy! – that is ready to send to a friend! Take a look-see:
I did a quick video on how to make this horsey card – which is posted on Instagram. If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!
I started by stamping hoofprints from the Unbridled Beauty set in Early Espresso ink across a panel of Country Woods DSP. Then I matted the panel on Basic Beige for the card front.
On a piece of Basic Beige cardstock, I stamped the pretty Unbridled Beauty horse head in Early Espresso ink. I used a Blender Pen to “pull” some color from the inked image to color the head.
Next up, I stamped the barn image and the fence in Pecan Pie ink.
I made a sticky note mask of the horse head and placed it over the stamped image. Then I stamped a tree and the small grazing horses image in Pecan Pie ink. Then I cut out the image with the largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes dies.
Using an Old Olive (trees and grasses), Pecan Pie (barn siding), and Basic Gray Watercolor Pencil (barn roof) – I colored the image. Then I adhered the circle to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I adhered a 7/8″ x 4″ piece of Basic Beige cardstock across the panel using Liquid Glue.
In the center of a 3/4″ wide by about 6″ long piece of Country Woods DSP – I stamped the Unbridled Beauty sentiment in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with white Basics WOW Embossing Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.
When it had cooled – I stamped the horseshoe on each side in Early Espresso ink.
I placed Stampin’ Dimensionals on the strip of Basic Beige cardstock and then, centering the sentiment, adhered the Country Woods strip on top. I trimmed the excess DSP from the sides with scissors – and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped a second Unbridled Beauty sentiment in Pecan Pie ink on a Basic Beige panel. In the corner, I stamped the horse head in Early Espresso ink and used the Blender Pen to “pull” the ink to color it.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the horse on the front…
…and more of the Country Woods DSP – with a stamped horseshoe! – on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Well – this horse head in Unbridled Beauty is gorgeous – it reminds me of Sam Savitt horse illustrations from the great horse books of my childhood. With the other pretty images – and sentiments! – in the set, this one is a horse-lovers dream set! I know you’re going to want to add it to your shelf!
I hope you like!

Love your card! The woodgrain background is perfect with the images, love the stamping across the designer paper too! Poor kids…only one at a time on your lap does stink!
Yup – I need a two-seater lap, I guess! Thanks, Amy! 🙂
