Good morning, y’all and happy Sunday! Hope your weekend is going well! We’re sort of holding our breath – hoping that Fall has truly arrived but…figuring summer’s got one last hurrah before it slinks off to wait for next year! And we’re hoping it does that before winter comes rampaging in – Fall in the south is a treat and we always hope for weeks and weeks of it!
My card today is a double easel fun fold – and it’s a great platform for some Elegant Pine Snowflakes DSP – and pine boughs and sentiments from the Branching Out Bundle. I ALSO used the very cool Words for the Season bundle – with it’s pretty die cut sentiments done up in gold! Take a look-see:
I started with a regular tent-fold card in Secret Sea as the base for the easel. The inside liner is a good place to start on these cards – it’s a little easier to adhere things inside before you get the “easel” on the front.
On a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, I stamped a Words for the Season sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink. In the corner, I stamped the smaller pine bough from Branching Out in Pecan Pie ink. Using the single pine frond image from the set, I added Shaded Spruce pine needles. Then I stamped the little pine cone a few times in Pecan Pie ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Secret Sea card base.
For the double-easel panel, I scored a 4″ x 10 1/4″ piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock at 5 1/4″ and 7 3/4″. Then I folded the 5 1/4″ score as a valley and the 7 3/4″ score as a mountain fold.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Elegant Pine Snowflakes to the large panel of the easel. I adhered two more pieces – 2 3/8″ x 3 7/8″ each – on the two shorter panels.
For the easel – I used the second-from-largest Branching Out die to cut out a Crumb Cake label. I added a couple of gold splatters from the Metallic Textures Rub Ons pack. Then I embossed the panel in the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder.
I cut out a Cherry Cobbler mat using the next-to-largest Branching Out die and adhered the Crumb Cake panel to it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using two of the dies in the Words for the Season dies, I cut out “Happy” and “Christmas” from Gold Foil Sheets. Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the sentiment pieces to the bottom of the matted die cut. Don’t forget the tittle above the “i” in Christmas – I forget ALL the time and have to go back to find it – or cut another one! 🤦♀️
I used dies from the Branching Out set to cut out a Pecan Pie and a Shaded Spruce pine bough, a Cherry Cobbler berries and five Gold Foil pine cones.
I adhered the pine boughs and berries to the top of the matted die cuts with Liquid Glue. The pine cones are adhered with Liquid Glue or a Stampin’ Dimensional.
I tied a bow from a piece of black twine from the Black & White & Gold Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot.
Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the bottom portion of the completed panel to the front panel on the easel.
I added some Pretty Peacock Faceted Snowflakes and the easel was done!
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the whole thing to the front of the Secret Sea card base and – that was that!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Branching Out pine bough and cones on the front…
…and more Elegant Pine Snowflakes DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Oh yes – the Words for the Season bundle is pretty darned cool – it’s got mix-and-match die cut sentiment words for Christmas, Halloween, New Year and more! The coordinating stamped sentiments are perfect to add to the inside of your cards. And…Branching Out. Do I really need to say any more? If you’re not sold by the pine boughs – I am! – then the die cut nesting labels should do the trick. And the bundled stamp set is just the icing on the cake! Finally – if you love Secret Sea (I do!) then the papers in the Elegant Pine Snowflakes DSP are going to make you very very happy!!
