Good morning everyone! Welcome to this month’s Fun Folds Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators! We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see! This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!! How cool is that?!?
My card today uses a fun new bundle – the Festive Friends bundle – and some pretty Modern Christmas Specialty DSP. And it’s a cool and easy fun fold called a Front Flap Easel card – which makes for a sweet “display” card for your recipient. Take a look-see:
I started by using Liquid Glue to adhere 1″ x 4″ pieces of Modern Christmas Specialty DSP to each end of a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock. I adhered the panel – with it’s DSP strips – to the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Petal Pink card base with Liquid Glue.
I made the small easel card by scoring a 3 1/8″ x 8″ piece of Petal Pink cardstock at 4″ and 6″. I folded the 4″ score line as a valley and the 6″ score line as a mountain (classic easel folding, right there!).
I used the snowflakes image from Festive Friends to stamp Petal Pink snowflakes all over the front of the easel – then used Liquid Glue to adhere the easel card to the card base – centering it between the two DSP strips.
Using the die in the Festive Friends set to cut out the tag from a piece of black-and-white Modern Christmas Specialty DSP. Using a Small Blending Brush, I colored it lightly with Pool Party ink.
I stamped the Festive Friends snowman in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut it out with the coordinating die. Using the Small Blending Brush – I added Pool Party ink lightly to the snowman’s right side. I colored the hat and scarf with the Light Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend and his carrot-nose with the Dark Timid Tiger Stampin’ Blend.
I cut out two Festive Friends trees from Shaded Spruce, one smaller tree from Summer Splash, and two “tree trunks” from Petal Pink (these are just the negative pieces from the tree die).
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the two Shaded Spruce trees to the tag – and added the Petal Pink trunks. Then I adhered the Summer Splash tree and the snowman with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I cut out some silver Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper snowflakes and stars – and adhered them with Liquid Glue.
The Poppy Parade tag topper is cut – using the die in the set – from Poppy Parade cardstock. I adhered it to the tag top with Liquid Glue.
Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the tag to the bottom portion of the easel – ensuring that it didn’t extend past the top of the card base when the card was closed. Then I trimmed the Poppy Parade tag topper down – snipping a banner in the top – and the card front was done.
For the inside, I stamped Festive Friends snowflakes in Petal Pink ink across the top of a Basic White cardstock panel. Then I adhered it to the inside of the easel card with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Festive Friends sentiment in Poppy Parade ink and cut it out with the tag topper die. I adhered a strip of silver Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper behind it…
…and then adhered it to the inner liner with Stampin’ Dimensionals to act as the easel stop.
I added another Festive Friends die cut silver Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper snowflake with Liquid Glue and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Festive Friends snowflakes in Petal Pink on the front…
…and more Modern Christmas Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! This Front Flap Easel Card is such a cute and easy fun fold – and it makes a perfect display card for this fun Festive Friends “scene”! Modern Christmas Specialty DSP shows off it’s NON-gold-foiled side on this one – I love the line drawn Christmas trees and how the polka-dot paper becomes a wintery background with some strategic Pool Party blending! 🙂
