Stampin’ UP! Gathering Moments Together Open Bay Window for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I’ve been wanting to make another Open Bay Window fun fold card – this time with a Fall theme – and today’s color challenge seemed like the right time to do it!  So – I pulled out some Gathering Together DSP (perfect colors!) and the coordinating Gathering Moments bundle – both new Online Exclusives – to make this autumn version.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s our color challenge!

And – I used elements from the current Tic-Tac-Toe challenge, too! I went across the top – down the right side – and both diagonals!

I started with a 5 1/2″ x 10″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock – the card base – that I scored at 1 3/4″, 3 3/8″, 6 5/8″ and 8 1/4″.   Then I folded it – pretty much like a gate card: Valley – Mountain – Mountain – Valley.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered five pieces of Gathering Together DSP on five Very Vanilla mats – and then adhered three of them to the three inside panels of the card base.  The two end panels stay open for a minute. 🙂

Since it’s easier to adhere the back panel before the front is assembled,  I stamped a Gathering Moments sentiment in Cajun Craze ink on a Very Vanilla panel.  I stamped a Mossy Meadow leaf, Pecan Pie acorn, and Cajun Craze mushroom.  I added a Cajun Craze & Gold Dot and adhered it to the back of the card base with Liquid Glue.

To make the bay window strips, I cut two 1″ x 10″ pieces of Mossy Meadow cardstock and scored them both at 1 3/4″, 3 3/8″, 6 5/8″ and 8 1/4″.  Then I folded them – it’s still a gate fold – but…opposite.

I matted pieces of Gathering Together DSP to Very Vanilla cardstock mats and adhered them to the middle three sections of each of the two bay window strips.

Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the two strips to the card base – one at the top – and one at the bottom.  I adhered the end panels of the strips to the end panels of the card base – aligning the sides and top (or bottom) of the cardstock.

Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the remaining matted pieces of Gathering Together DSP to the first and last panel of the card base.

To make the floating element….float! – I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere a 1″ x 5 1/4″ strip of Window Sheet to the BACK of the two middle sections of the bay window strips.

Using the outline and “stitching” dies in the Gathering Moments bundle, I cut out a maple leaf from a piece of Earthen Toned Metallic Specialty Paper.  I embossed it in the Gathering Leaves 3D Embossing Folder.

I tied a bow from two lengths of Old Olive (it’s Mossy Meadow-adjacent!) Linen Thread (from the Old Olive & Early Espresso Linen Thread Pack) – and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I stamped the Gathering Moments sentiment in Cajun Craze on a 1″ x 2 1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and adhered it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped three Gathering Moments leaves in Mossy Meadow, two mushrooms in Cajun Craze and two acorns in Pecan Pie.  Then I cut them all out with their coordinating dies.

Using Liquid Glue, I tucked the die cut leaves, acorns and mushrooms under and around the sentiment.

Then I added some Cajun Craze & Gold Dots here and there.

I adhered the leaf to the Window Sheet strip using DOUBLE stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals – and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Gathering Moments images on the front…

…and more of the Gathering Together DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Well – now I love this Open Bay Window Fun Fold even MORE!  It was gorgeous in it’s “winter garb” on the first card I did.  But it’s equally amazing in Autumnal colors!  The Gathering Together DSP is great on this fun fold – it gives you so many spots to showcase it!  The coordinating Gathering Moments bundle – the source of the big, beautiful leaf, the sentiment and all the smaller foliage and flora is the perfect complement!

I hope you like!
