Stampin’ UP! Merry Christmas Greenery Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

Since I first saw it – I’ve loved the new Merry Christmas stamp – it’s a single – large sentiment stamp and…it’s a beautiful font.  Today’s sketch challenge gave me the perfect layout for me to debut it!  I added some Christmas Greenery and Traditions of Christmas Specialty DSP!  Take a look-see:

And – here’s that sketch!

I started by adhering some gorgeous Traditions of Christmas Specialty DSP to a Pool Party mat for the card front – then adhering it to the front of my Secret Sea card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the largest Stylish Shapes square die – I cut out a Cherry Cobbler piece of Traditions of Christmas Specialty DSP. I cut the square in half and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue – leaving space between the two halves – to make it bigger!

On a 2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment in Secret Sea ink.  Next to the sentiment, I used the Christmas Greenery stamps to add some Old Olive leaves and stamped-off-once Secret Sea pine boughs in a little arc.

Then I matted it on Pool Party cardstock and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals (kept towards the middle of the panel to facilitate foliage-tucking!).

Using the dies in the Christmas Greenery set, I cut out some foliage – actually mostly the TOPS of the foliage (I just didn’t need them to be as big as they are – so…I cut just…tops!).

I cut out:

– Three Secret Sea pine bough tops

– One Old Olive leaf – I cut the top leaves off to use at the top of the card and part of two leaves to use at the bottom

– Two Gold Foil holly leaves

Using Liquid Glue – I tucked two pine bough tops, the top of the Old Olive leaf, and one Gold Foil holly leaf under the top of the sentiment panel.  Then I tied a bow with two lengths of white twine from the Black & White & Gold Baker’s Twine – and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

I tucked the remaining foliage under the bottom corner of the sentiment panel – adhering it with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the large poinsettia fill image and a medium flower in Cherry Cobbler ink.  I cut them both out with their coordinating die.

I adhered the large flower over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added the smaller flower with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I added a medium gold Traditional Sparkling Sequin to the middle of the small flower – and then five Pool Party Sequins around the sentiment (I saw that in the new Mini Catalog – and copied it cuz it’s cool!).  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped the Christmas Greenery foliage in Secret Sea ink in the corner of a Basic White panel.  I stamped the flower fill images – the large and small stamps – in Cherry Cobbler.  I added the leaf fill image and the pine bough image (right over the Secret Sea boughs!) in Old Olive ink and the little dots image in Pool Party ink.  Then I added small gold Traditional Sparkling Sequins to the middle of the flowers.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Secret Sea card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Christmas Greenery image on the front..

…and more Traditions of Christmas Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Traditions of Christmas Suite is so stunning – with the Traditions of Christmas Specialty DSP and TWO bundles – this Christmas Greenery bundle (and the Traditional Labels bundle – not used here, but…beautiful!).  In perfect tradtional colors – this is a Suite you’re going to WANT to have on hand as we get closer to Christmas Card sending season!  And the single Merry Christmas stamp – has such a pretty font and is perfect for doing the lion-share of the work on your Christmas projects!
