Morning, everyone! Hope you’re having a great weekend! Ours has been…moist. Rainy each afternoon and cloudy in the morning so everything is just…well…moist!
My card today is thinking – and looking forward to – FALL! It features the Artistic Leaves stamp set, the beautiful Sunflowers 3D Embossing Folder and my fave DSP of…ever!…Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″D DSP. Take a look-see:
Oh yeah – it’s ALSO a fault-line fun fold card! Which you can see all over the place right now – I got the idea for doing an embossed card front from Loni Spendlove’s pretty cards! 🙂
I started by cutting a 4 1/4″ x 9 1/2″ piece of Basic Beige cardstock. Using a Paper Trimmer – I scored it on the long side at 5 1/2″. Then I embossed the top portion in the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder (which…is planned to be BACK in stock around 11 August!)
To make the “fault” – I lined up a 3″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Cajun Craze cardstock – aligning the bottom edge of the cardstock with the bottom edge of the embossed top panel – and tore both pieces (together) on a rough diagonal.
Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the embossed top panel to the top portion of the torn Cajun Craze panel – letting part of the contrasting cardstock show.
Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the remaining piece of embossed cardstock to the remaining torn piece of Cajun Craze cardstock – to create the second fault-line (the one at the bottom of the card front).
Opening the card base, I used Liquid Glue to adhere a 4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Timeless Plaid DSP to the inside of the card front (aka – to the BACK of the card front). Note – this piece will look funny right now – but…don’t worry – it’ll be fixed. Stick with me, here! 😎
I closed the card again and, using Liquid Glue – adhered the second fault-line piece to the bottom of the Timeless Plaid DSP – making sure that the bottom edge of the fault aligned with the bottom edge of the card base.
I opened the card again and used Liquid Glue to adhere a 4 1/4″ x 5 7/16″ piece of Basic Beige cardstock to the back of the card front – covering up all the “mess”! Note – there’s going to be a little gap up by the fold – that’s okay. Align the BOTTOM edges!! 🙂
For the sentiment, I stamped the leaf image from Artistic Leaves in Peach Pie ink on a piece of Basic Beige cardstock. Over it – I stamped the sentiment in Cajun Craze ink. Then I cut out the image with my Paper Snips.
I tied a bow with two lengths of Linen Thread and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
Then I adhered the leaf/sentiment over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped the Artistic Leaves leaf in Peach Pie in the corner of a Basic Beige panel. I stamped the little splatters image several times around the leaf in Cajun Craze ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Basic Beige card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Artistic Leaves and splatters on the front…
…and more of the Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Okay – this one was WAY fun to do – and it for sure won’t be my LAST fault-line card! I love it with the Sunflowers 3D Embossed card front – and..the Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP is a perfect complement to it. As is the fussy cut Artistic Leaves sentiment!! I love how these products all came together, don’t you?!
