Stampin’ UP! Blooming Framed Scenes Thanks for the Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

My card for today is quite simple – it uses the Framed Scenes bundle and a sentiment from Blooming Phrases – both online exclusives – and pretty Country Woods DSP from the annual catalog.  If you enjoy coloring – Framed Scenes – and this card! – is for you!  Take a look-see:

And – here’s that sketch we were all using!

I started by adhering a piece of Country Woods DSP on Garden Green for the card front.

On a piece of Basic Beige cardstock, I stamped the Framed Scenes bridge image in Basic Gray ink.  Then, using pencils from BOTH of our Watercolor Pencil assortments – I colored the image.

Here’s how I colored the image:

– Trees – Old Olive and Garden Green Watercolor Pencils

– Trunks – Pecan Pie Watercolor Pencil

– Water – Balmy Blue and Coastal Cabana Watercolor Pencils

– Rocks – Smoky Slate Watercolor Pencils

– Mountains – Smoky Slate and Pecan Pie Watercolor Pencils

– Bridge – Smoky Slate Watercolor Pencils

– Sky – “Blue” Watercolor Pencil

– Ground – Old Olive Watercolor Pencil – with Garden Green adding “grass” where the shading is

– Birds – hand drawn with the Smoky Slate Watercolor Pencil

Using the large frame die in the Framed Scenes die set, I cut out an Early Espresso frame and adhered it to the art panel with a little Liquid Gkue.

Then I adhered the framed panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Blooming Phrases sentiment in Pool Party ink.

I matted the sentiment on Garden Green cardstock using Liquid Glue.

Using Liquid Glue – and a Stampin’ Dimensional under the right side of the sentiment – I adhered it to the card front.

I added five Pressed Flower Motifs and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the forest road image from Framed Scenes in Basic Gray in the corner of a Basic White panel.  Using the Watercolor Pencils, I colored the image.

– Deciduous Trees – Old Olive and Garden Green Watercolor Pencils

– Pines – Old Olive Watercolor Pencil

– Trunks – Pecan Pie Watercolor Pencil

– Road – Pecan Pie Watercolor Pencils

– Sky – “Blue” Watercolor Pencil

– Ground – Old Olive Watercolor Pencil – with Garden Green adding “grass” where the shading is

– Birds – hand drawn with the Smoky Slate Watercolor Pencil

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the forest road image on the front…

…and more of the Country Woods DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Five pretty scenes are yours for the coloring – with frames to help you highlight them on your projects – in the Framed Scenes bundle!  Looking for a sentiment?  Check the Blooming Phrases set – such pretty, scripty fonts!  And – there’s a REASON the Country Woods DSP has carried over several times now – it’s the BOMB!! 🙂
