Stampin’ UP! Jolly Holly Sneak Peek Christmas Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning and Happy Friday!  Hope you’ve got something fun planned for the weekend.  It’s looking pretty wide-open for us – no telling what we’ll come up with!

So – it came to my attention this week that 25 June is the half-way mark between the beginning of the year and..Christmas!  Yep – as of today (assuming Google is right and…duh.  It’s GOOGLE!) there are 181 days until Christmas.  WAAY too early for the Countdown to Christmas graphic but…a good time to start thinking about Christmas cards! 🙂

I’ve got a pretty one for you today, using the cool new Jolly Holly bundle – with it’s coordinating Hybrid Embossing Folder.  It’s going to be available on 1 July when the new July 2025 Online Exclusives go live.  Take a look-see:

The cool Jolly Holly Hybrid Embossing Folder is the star of this show!  I put my Shaded Spruce card front into the folder – with the accompanying die in place – and ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.

I wrapped some white Baker’s Twine around the panel – twice – securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

Then I adhered the panel to my Shaded Spruce card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the larger die in the Jolly Holly die set to cut out a Shy Shamrock rectangle and the smaller one to cut out a Basic White rectangle.

Using Liquid Glue, I matted the Basic White on the Shy Shamrock rectangle.

I stamped the sentiment in Pretty in Pink ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock and adhered it to a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet.  Then, using the die in the set, cut out the sentiment.  I adhered it to the matted white rectangle using the adhesive on the foam sheet.

I slid the sentiment under a few popped up Jolly Holly leaves and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the holly image three times in Shy Shamrock ink and cut them out with the matching die from the Jolly Holly set.  I colored the leaves with the Light Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blend.

I added a clear three-berry embellishment from the Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Adhesive-backed Berries to each die cut holly and then adhered them with Liquid Glue.

Using two lengths of the white Baker’s Twine – I tied a bow around the twine already on the card front and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the sentiment from Jolly Holly in Pretty in Pink ink on a Basic White panel.  In two corners, I stamped and colored the holly leaves a few times.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Jolly Holly leaves on the front…

…and again on the envelope flap.

Now – I also made this card in a second color palette…

Make it the exact same way – with the following changes.

– Card base and card front – Cloud Cover

– Mat for sentiment – Mossy Meadow

– Sentiment – Balmy Blue

– Leaves – stamped in Mossy Meadow and colored with the Light Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blend.

So – which do YOU like better?!

Either way – the new Jolly Holly bundle – with it’s photopolymer stamp set and coordinating Hybrid Embossing Folder – is so cool!  I LOVE how it partially cuts out the holly leaves so that you can pop them up here and there!  And the pretty die that cuts out the stamped sentiment is wunnermus!  I know you’re excited to grab this one on 1 July!

Such pretty cards! Love the hybrid embossing folder, perfect for quick holiday cards! She does look just like the other toys…same size and she’s fluffy just like they are! 🐶

    • stampsnlingers

Yup – and she has a squeaker, too! :). Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. Alicia

Such a festive card! I agree that the color combo of Shaded Spruce, Shy Shamrock, and Pretty in Pink is a winner. I noticed a discrepancy between your video and the blog instructions for the stamped holly images. The blog says they’re stamped in Shaded Spruce and colored with Lemon Lime Twist, but in the video you mentioned Shy Shamrock ink colored with Granny Apple Green. My guess is the video was correct? Anyway, thanks for sharing the lovely card!

Thank you, Alicia – I do lvoe that color combination! And you are correct (good catch!). I DID stamp the holly leaves in Shy Shamrock – not Shaded Spruce. Thank you for letting me know – I’ve updated the blog and the PDF! 🙂
