Stampin’ Up! Sailing at Sunrise Congratulations Card

Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all!  Hope your week is going well – and that you’re taking advantage of the Buy One Get One 50% Off Suite Sale! And deciding which FREE pack of Stampin’ Blends you’re going to ask me to send you! 🙂

My card today is a play on one I saw that Stampin’ Up! artists made for us.  It’s a congratulations card made with some color blending and the beautiful Sunrise Sailing stamp set and bundled Hybrid Embossing Folder.  Take a look-see:

I did a quick video on how to make this pretty card, which is posted on Instagram.  If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!

I started by using Small Blending Brushes to add color to a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Basic White cardstock.  I put Fresh Freesia in the top portion – about 1/3 – Pretty in Pink below that – and Balmy Blue on the bottom portion.

When I had all the color on, I cut the panel down to 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″.  Then I embossed it in the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder – placing the ocean part of the folder on the Balmy Blue section of the panel.

Once it was embossed – I added some more Balmy Blue over the waves – just to add a little depth.  Then I adhered the panel to 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of  Smoky Slate cardstock with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Sunrise Sailing sailboat image in Balmy Blue ink.  I added the hull image in Balmy Blue and the sails detail in Fresh Freesia inks.  I cut it out with the Sunrise Sailing die – and adhered it over the embossed sailboat on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a 1/2″ x 3 3/8″ strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Sunrise Sailing sentiment in Balmy Blue.

I used Paper Snips to snip a banner in the right end of the strip and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the Sunrise Sailing die in the set, I cut out three Smoky Slate birds, adhered them with little dabs of Liquid Glue and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the Sunrise Sailing watery waves image in Balmy Blue across the bottom of a Basic White panel.  Then I stamped the sailboat and sails image in Balmy Blue and Fresh Freesia.  A Fresh Freesia seagull hovers near the front of the boat.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Fresh Freesia card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Sunrise Sailing images on the front…

…and a few more on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So pretty! You can almost hear the gulls crying and the swoosh of the sailboat skimming across the water, can’t you?!  That’s all thanks to the wunnermus Sunrise Sailing stamp set and its bundled – and gorgeous! – Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder!  I love it!

Finn Fan Fix

First day lesson in “spot”.

She has to stay on THAT side of that crack in the aisle concrete.

Cuz on THIS side…is 900 pounds of pony with BIG feet!

Finn is fairly disgusted.  HE knows “spot” and HE knows not to go in the stall.

She stooopid.

His words – not mine!

Such a cute card! Love that little sailboat image, perfect ink blended background! Big brothers are always mean to little sisters. Looks like she’s in her spot and staying right where she should. 🙂

Thanks, Amy! And – she’s trying – it’s a hard lesson cuz there’s SOOO many fun smells on the OTHER side of the crack! 🙂
