Stampin’ UP! Pretty Petals Linked Together Card

Well – good morning on Monday!  I hope you had an awesome weekend and that your week – at work or otherwise! – is looking to be a good one!

My card today features a couple of things that are leaving us soon! 🥺 We all know that the 2023-2025 In Colors will be retiring soon and, for a lot of folks – there’s a lot of sadness over that – especially over losing Boho Blue!  And the Pretty Petals stamp set and bundled dies are on the Last Chance chance list which means THEY’RE leaving, too!  I grabbed a two-step sentiment from the Linked Together stamp set and used some of my favorite paper – the Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP (these are in the Jan-Apr 2025 Mini!).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

And the color palette is from the Color Throwdown Challenge.

I did a quick video on how to make this sweet card, which is posted on Instagram.  If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!

I started by adhering a piece of Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP on a Shaded Spruce mat for the card front.

I used the next-to-largest Perennial Postage dies (this is one of my favorite die sets, y’all – I HOPE you have it!) to cut out a Basic White panel.

In the corner of the die cut, I stamped the large stems & leaves images from Pretty Petals in Shaded Spruce ink.  Then I stamped the large flowers in Boho Blue.

Using the bullet end of the Dark Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blend – I added some doodle-dots around the image.

Then I added some splatters of Lemon Lime Twist and Boho Blue – by striking the Dark Blends in both colors against the edge of an acrylic block and directing the spray down onto the panel.

Near the top, I stamped “a happy day” from the Linked Together set in Shaded Spruce ink.  Then I stamped the second part of the sentiment (“wishing you”) above it in Lemon Lime Twist ink – sort of “nestling” it into the larger sentiment.

I wrapped some Crumb Cake Bakers Twine three times around the bottom of the panel – securing it in the back with Glue Dots.  Then I tied another length around the twine and tied a bow.

Then I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added Brushed Brass Butterflies and the card front was done.

For the inside, I cut out the largest Perennial Postage die from a piece of Basic White.  In the bottom corner, I stamped a smaller stems/petals image from Pretty Petals in Shaded Spruce and then stamped the flowers in Boho Blue.  I added some Dark Lemon Lime Twist doodle-dots and some Dark Boho Blue splatters.  Then one more Brushed Brass Butterfly cuz they’re so cute!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Boho Blue card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the smaller Pretty Petals image (with doodle-dots!) on the front…

…and some more of the Timeless Plaid 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Isn’t that such a pretty flower bunch?  I love this Pretty Petals set – and I didn’t even use the dies that cut out all the pretty flowers to add dimension!  Be sure to snag it before it’s gone!  The Linked Together is a great sentiment set – letting you combine words and phrases to “build” your messages!  And – do I even need to MENTION the Timeless Plaid DSP!?  Love it SO much!
