Stampin’ Up! Spotlight on Thankful Garden Card

Good morning and happy Sunday, y’all!  Well – OnStage 2025 is in the books (and was awesome!) and everyone is headed home!  We’re going to try to swing by our rental in Columbus, NC on the way home to give it a look-see.  But – the weather is pretty iffy so…we prolly won’t hang very long!  Will be good to get home.  Finn is ready to run around without being on leash! 🙂

Now – tomorrow, I’ll have a bunch of pictures from the event – sneak peeks and whatnots.  For today, though, I’ve got the Thankful Garden card that I made and presented at our Inkin’ Krew Team meeting a week ago! It also features the Spotlight on Nature dies and the new – and AMAZING! – Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder.  Take a look-see:

I started by embossing a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock in the new Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder.  Using the Dark Fresh Freesia and Dark Summer Splash Stampin’ Blends, I splattered the embossed panel to add some color.  Tip: strike a hard object with the brush end of the Blend aiming down towards the cardstock.  Caution: some overspray is definitely a hazard so…. 🙂

I used the next-to-largest floral-edged Spotlight on Nature die to cut out a Fresh Freesia cardstock circle – and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I used the dies in the Thankful Garden set to cut out two Summer Splash leaves (the ones with lots of leaves on it) and one Coastal Cabana leaf (the one with only three leaves on it.)

On another piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Thankful Garden image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Then I used the Thankful Garden Decorative Masks (part of the bundle – or you can get them a la carte!) and Small Blending Brushes to color the image.

– Mask 1 – Fresh Freesia
– Mask 2 – Petunia Pop
– Mask 3 – Petunia Pop again to blur the edges of the colors
– Mask 4 – Coastal Cabana
– Mask 5 – Summer Splash

When it was all colored – I used the coordinating die to cut out the image.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered one Summer Splash and the Coastal Cabana leaves to the Fresh Freesia circle.  Then I popped the die cut flower on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered the remaining leaf with Liquid Glue.

Using two lengths of Lemon Lolly Baker’s Twine, I tied a bow and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot.

On a strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Thoughtful Garden sentiment in Fresh Freesia ink.  Then I snipped an angle in the end and adhered it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added Lemon Lolly Rainbow Adhesive-backed Dots and the card front was done.

For the inside, I stamped the single leaf image from Thankful Garden several times in Summer Splash on a Basic White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Thankful Garden leaf in Summer Splash on the front…

…and I stamped the leaf once on the envelope flap, too.

Et Voila!  Y’all – I am so loving the Stampin’ Up! Decorative Masks – they’re thick and sturdy – and they match the stamped outline perfectly!  You can stamped the image and color it or…try using JUST the masks for a different no-line look.  Thankful Garden has so many possibilities!  And I’ve made no secret of my love of the Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder, have I?? 🤔

CARDSTOCK PRICE CHANGES COMING SOON

Stampin’ Up! shared this with us yesterday so I wanted to pass it along!

In light of steadily increasing production costs, we’ve made a few updates to our cardstock offerings.

WHY THE CHANGE?
Over the years, Stampin’ Up! has worked diligently to manage rising costs while balancing high-quality standards and remaining competitive in the market. The costs for raw materials and production have continued to climb, and only a select few mills around the world are qualified to produce our heavyweight, dyed-through cardstock, ensuring it meets our color and quality standards.

WHAT’S CHANGING?

  • 8-1/2″ x 11″ cardstock:
    • All single-color cardstock packages will now contain 24 sheets (including Basic White and Very Vanilla).
    • Assortments will contain 20 sheets.
    • Prices will be $14 for both single-color and assortment packs.
    • Stampin’ Up! has reevaluated their decision to discontinue 8½”x11” Thick Basic White Cardstock. WHOO-HOO!  They’ll ALSO keep the newly announced Basic White 12”x12” Thick Cardstock to support those who focus on 3D projects or simply prefer the larger format.
      • The item will be available in the Online Store, not the 2025-2026 Annual Catalog.
      • The item numbers and sheet quantity per package (24) will remain the same.
      • Beginning 6 May 2025, the price for the 24-sheet pack of Thick Basic White cardstock will be $17.00, which differs from any other cardstock of this size that we offer.

  • 12″ x 12″ cardstock:
    • Our heavyweight, dyed-through cardstock and Basic White Thick Cardstock packages will contain 24 sheets.
    • 12″ x 12″ dyed cardstock will be $22.
    • 12″ x 12″ Basic White Thick Cardstock will be $26
    • We’re also expanding our 12″ x 12″ offerings with Two-Tone cardstock available in single-color packages in all colors.
    • We will no longer offer 12″ x 12″ dyed cardstock in assortments but will continue to provide 12″ x 12″ Two-Tone assortments that coordinate with our Designer Series Paper & Sticker Sheets.
  • Other Product Updates:
    • Pricing and configuration for our 12″ x 12″ Two-Tone cardstocks and White Willow 12″ x 12″ Cardstock remain unchanged.
    • In addition to the changes mentioned above, you will notice a handful of other price increases, which are typical in a new catalog.

So stock up on those cardstock packs now ahead of the price increases!  You can find the card stock in the online store here
