Stampin’ Up! You Are Remarkable Sneak Peek Friendship Card with Video

Well – it’s Friday again, y’all – and…it’s ALSO Valentine’s Day!  But of course you knew that!!  I hope you have a lovely day and maybe a romantic dinner with someone special!

My card today would be great for a bestie – maybe for Galentine’s Day – or just to let them know that you’d pick THEM again and again!  It features the new Online Exclusive You Are Remarkable stamp set – and some pretty new Starburst Sequins.  These are both coming to you on 4 March.  Or – you COULD get it all right now in a Starter Kit!

Take a look-see:

I started with a larger-than-I-needed piece of Basic Beige card stock.  Using the large floral in the You Are Remarkable set, I stamped all over the panel in Mossy Meadow ink.

Then I trimmed the panel down to 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″ – adjusting the cuts so that the flowers (versus the foliage) were as prominent as I could make them – knowing the middle will be covered by the sentiment.

I used Watercolor Pencils to color the images.

– Foliage – I colored all the leaves and stems first with an Old Olive Watercolor Pencil.  Then I colored over that with the Granny Apple Green Pencil.

– Flower petals – I used the Balmy Blue Watercolor Pencil for one.  The other flower petals I started with the Calypso Coral pencil near the center of the flower.  Then I used the Daffodil Delight Pencil on the entire flower – letting it blend!

– Flower middles – Daffodil Delight Pencil

– Flower Middles – Pecan Pie Pencil

I stamped the DARLING little bee – with his tiny bee-trail – several times around the panel in Mossy Meadow ink.  Then I used a Crushed Curry Watercolor Pencil to color his little body.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a Calypso Coral panel to a Daffodil Delight mat.  Then I popped the card front onto the double-mat with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a 1 1/2″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the You Are Remarkable sentiment in Calypso Coral ink.  Using Paper Snips – I cut a banner in the bottom of the cardstock strip.

Then I stamped the little bee a couple times in Mossy Meadow and colored him with the Crushed Curry Watercolor Pencil.

I wrapped Linen Thread around the top of the banner three times – securing it in the back with Glue Dots.  Then I took two lengths of Linen Thread and tied a bow around the wraps.

I adhered the banner to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added three new Crushed Curry Starburst Sequins to the sentiment banner and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the You Are Remarkable flower – and the little bee – on a Basic White panel. I colored them with the Watercolor Pencils – and added another Starburst Sequin.

Now – while I was doing the video on this card yesterday, I got the bright idea to use the bullet-end of my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker to add some doodle-dots by the flower!  And – I LOVED it! So – I added them to the first card, too!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Basic Beige card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the You Are Remarkable flower and bee (and doodle-dots – just no picture of those!) on the front…

…and the little bee on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  My goodness, is that big gorgeous flower and sweet sentiment from the You Are Remarkable stamp set just sort of perfect!?  I love the three sentiments you can choose from and the bee.  THE BEE!! 😍 Oh – and the flower is also a two-step stamp – you can actually stamp the flower petal and foliage fill images!  Boom!  How fun for making your own designer paper like I did on this card!
