Stampin’ Up! Snowy Wonder Cabin Scene for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a Sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

If you’ve been around me for a minute you know that I love when die sets cut fun and/or pretty images from our designer series papers.  It’s such a fun and quick way to make wonderful cards!  The Snowy Wonder bundle and the Snowy Scenes DSP are great examples of this coordination and they’re what I used to make today’s Christmas Card.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s our sketch!

I did a quick video on how to make this one, which is posted on Instagram.  You can see it on YouTube right here!

I started by using Liquid Glue to adhere a panel of Snowy Scenes DSP to a Poppy Parade mat for the card front.  Then I made a smaller layer using some Petal Pink paper from the DSP pack – also matted on Poppy Parade – adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using one of the “dome” dies from the Snowy Wonder die set, I cut out a globe from the Snowy Scenes DSP.  Note: the die isn’t as TALL as the image on the DSP – so…I just let it cut it down!  No big!

I used the “base” die to cut out a Poppy Parade base.  Note:  this isn’t the base that was printed on the paper with this particular snow globe. I picked it cuz…I liked it better for my card!

I adhered both pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Snowy Wonder sentiment in Garden Green ink.  Then I matted it on Poppy Parade cardstock and popped it onto the card front with a Stampin’ Dimensional on the left end and Liquid Glue on the right.

I used another die from the set to cut out a pine tree from the Snowy Scenes DSP and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the card front.

Then, using little dots of Liquid Glue, my twizzers and a dose of patience – I adhered a bunch of White Loose Snowflakes and the card front was done!

For the inside, I stamped a Snowy Wonder tree in Garden Green – a few small snowflakes in Petal Pink – and the teensy snow-flurry image a few times in Pool Party ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Garden Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the tree, snowflakes and flurry images on the front…

…and more of that pretty Snowy Scenes DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So…Snowy Wonder was one of those stamp set bundles that I wasn’t all that excited about when I first saw it.  But…it is REALLY growing on me!  I love the coordination with the Snowy Scenes DSP – which is gorgeous paper in its own right!  So – it’s really kind of got all the things – and I’d urge you to get it soon! 🙂

You will find this funny, but your card reminds me of the movie ‘Heidi” – mountains and the house, tree – who knows… love the card.
