Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a Theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
One of my fave sets in the new Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog is called Caring Leaves. It’s a super simple little set – just a couple of two-step leaves and a couple of sweet sentiments. I used it with some Ink Blending to make a pretty thank you card. Take a look-see:
And here’s our theme challenge!
I pulled some elements from the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge, too! I went down the diagonal (leaves – Rectangle – Sparkle) and got Ink Blending, Ombre and Green, too! 🙂
I started with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock.
Using the 5th-largest Deckled Rectangle die (#5 in the photo)….
…I cut out a smaller rectangle and placed it in the center of the larger panel – adhering it with some Temporary adhesive.
Using Small Blending Brushes and starting at the center – I brushed on Lemon Lime Twist ink…
Then came with Granny Apple Green…
…and finished with Garden Green around the edges.
I used the 4th-largest Deckled Rectangle die (#4 in the photo above) and cut it out from middle of the smaller panel that I’d used as a mask.
Using the largest Deckled Rectangle – I cut out a card front from the original larger panel.
Going back to the #5 Deckled Rectangle – I cut out a Basic Black panel and used Liquid Glue to adhere it in the open center of the card front.
On the smaller die cut, I stamped the Caring Leaves sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
I added the outline images of the two leaves around the sentiment – stamping the oak-leaf in Granny Apple Green and the second (smaller) leaf in Garden Green ink.
Using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals I adhered the panel onto the card front. I added a single small clear Drusy Adhesive-backed Embellishment near the sentiment and the card front was done!
On the inside, I used that largest Deckled Rectangles die to cut a Basic White panel. Then I stamped the Caring Leaves oak-leaf a few times in Granny Apple Green ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the die cut to the inside of the Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Caring Leaves oak leaves in Granny Apple Green on the front…
…and I stamped the smaller leaf once in Garden Green on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! The blended ink make it look like it’s glowing, doesn’t it?! I love the simple leaf images from Caring Leaves – there are also “fill” images to use to change up the look! And the two sentiments are super sweet and in a truly gorgeous font!
I hope you like!

Thank you so much, Susan!!
Oooh, radioactive, readioactive! (Do you know that song by Imagine Dragons?) I hope so because it’s been awhile since I provided you with an earworm…lol! Your card is absolutely GORGEOUS! Your ink blending is perfectly done to make it glow. Thank you for the detailed instructions…I will definitely be CASEing this!! See you at 1 PM.
Oh – thank you for that, Karen! 🤦♀️. Appreciate the kind words – and the earworm! 🙂
This is beautiful, Mary! Love the ink blending and how you used the Caring Leaves stamp set!
Thanks so much, Carol! 🙂
Well, friend,
I really wanted to be able to say I love your card, since leaves are in your wheelhouse. And, I could envision layers of leaves. HOWEVER! (and you know what is coming!) 🙂
I am not sure that horrible color qualifies as green, but you did use Granny Apple Green, so I guess you did qualify for the green slot.
Love the idea, and the simplicity is beautiful, down to the envelope, even though that is NOT in your wheelhouse. Inspiring at any rate. (and I am sure Karen F and others LOVE it because of the color)
ROFL! I was thinking I could FIX your aversion to Lemon Lime Twist!! Guess not?! Thanks, Julie – you gave me a good chuckle!! 🙂
