Stampin’ Up! Unbounded Forever Forest Birthday Card with Video

Good morning, y’all!  Happy Sunday!  Hope you’re having a great weekend. 😎 We took advantage of it being ONLY 80 yesterday morning and planted a bed full of english peas for a Fall harvest (fingers crossed!).  Now we just have to wait 8 to 10 days to see if they come up!  I hope they do – and that the little chipper who was scoping it out is sufficiently deterred by the chicken wire cage we put over the bed!!  I threatened him with bodily harm but he just laughed uproariously.  I guess the word is out about me… 🤷‍♀️

So – when I went to tidy my table the other day – the Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ DSP was still out.  Which led me to think…I bet I could make another card with it – with a totally different feel!  I decided to go wintery and the Forever Forest popped right into my hands.  With the addition of a sentiment – this time from the Unbounded Love set.  Take a look-see:

I know.  I know.  I sorta used similar designs the other day.  AND also used Forever Forest.  Sorry!

NOT sorry!  Forever Forest is AWESOME and I love it.  So….nyah. 😉

The sketch that inspired my layout is from this week’s Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.

I started my totally-different-from-the-last-card-I-made-with-all-these-same-products card by stamping the snowfall image and the five-tree image from Forever Forest in stamped-off-once Blackberry Bliss ink all over a piece of Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ DSP.  I added the ground image in full-strength Blackberry Bliss ink, then adhered the panel to the front of my Blackberry Bliss card base using Liquid Glue.

Next, I pulled out the Stylish Shapes dies and cut out three squares – starting with the largest, then the second-from-largest and, finally, the next-to-smallest square – cutting a different design of the paper each time.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the largest square to the card front.

Then I used Paper Snips to cut the smallest square in half and tucked it under the large square – adhering it with Liquid Glue.

On the middle sized square (aka the Goldilocks square – work THAT one out!!),  I stamped the Unbounded Love sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink – then I adhered it to the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I pulled out the Forever Forest Dies and used the largest detailed tree die to cut out two trees – one from Thoughtful Designs Specialty DSP (a Misty Moonlight piece) and one from the dark silver Textured Metallic Specialty Paper.

I cut three more trees with the next-smallest-detailed tree die.  This time – one in the dark silver Textured Metallic paper and two in Fresh Freesia Thoughtful Designs Specialty DSP .

Using a combination of pieces of Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue, I adhered them to the card front.

I added five silver Adhesive-backed Metallic Gems and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the trees and ground from Forever Forest in stamped-off-once Blackberry Bliss ink on the bottom of a Basic White panel.  Yes – I KNOW there’s an even number of trees – it just felt right like that.  This time! 😉

I adhered the panel to the inside of the Blackberry Bliss card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Forever Forest images in stampeon the front…

…and more Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Once again – the Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ DSP proves it’s worth – and makes the fact that it’s ON SALE (along with THIRTEEN other paper packs from the Annual Catalog) next week! – even cooler!!  Forever Forest totally deserves a spot on any crafter’s shelf – it’s just wonderful.  And the Unbounded Beauty set has so many great sentiments – it’s sure to be a staple for you, too!!

I hope you like! And – I PROMISE to not use this paper/bundle combination again for….ALL of August.

Probably.

Maybe…

Finn Fan Fix

Last Tuesday – we had a pretty big storm come thru.  Noisy.  Windy – straight line, not spinny.

About 8:30pm or so, the power went out.

And stayed out for a hot minute. Wayne went to check the barn.  I finished my blog post for Wednesday on my hot spot. And lit some candles.

When he came back in – he brought some battery lights.

I give you…the Deatherage’s in a power outage.

And…Finn Deatherage in a power outage.

Not worried.  Well – other than wondering what I was going to do about his fan.  He sleeps with a fan on him, you see.

So – I found my two little battery-operated fans (thanks, Mom!!)  and set one on his kennel pointed straight down on him.  I got the other one on the bed – I mean…hello?!

And – yes.  We were BOTH still too hot to sleep good!

Thankfully the power finally came back on around 830 the next morning.  And – that was his Pup Cup day so…all was good in Finn-land!
