Stampin’ Up! Changing Leaves & Playful Ghosts Halloween Card

Good morning, y’all – happy Monday!  Just a little admin note – this is the LAST day of Stamp-N-Storage 15% off Sale – so…if you’re still needing some craft organization things – check below for the deets!!

Now – although the phrase “Christmas in July” – is a thing…why isn’t there a “Halloween in July”??  I mean – it comes BEFORE Christmas, right!?  Maybe cuz we don’t usually send quite as many Halloween cards as we do Christmas?  Yep – Christmas is for cards and Halloween is for candy!

To give Halloween a little bit of love – I figured I’d share a super-cute little stamp set that just recently released in the Online Exclusives!  It’s called Playful Ghosts and…it is really fun.  I added a little foliage and embossing from the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder.  Cuz…foliage! 🤷‍♀️. Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week!

I did a quick video on how to make this one, which is posted on Instagram.  You can see it on YouTube right here!

I started by embossing a Basic Black panel in the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder – and then I adhered it to the front of my Pecan Pie card base using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the Changing Leaves dies to cut out a couple of Crushed Curry leaves and FIVE Pecan Pie twigs!

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the two-leaf die cut and three Pecan Pie twigs on the right side of the Basic Black panel.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the cute Playful Ghosts images in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Next to the popping-up ghost – I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I colored the images with the Light & Dark Pumpkin Pie, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Pecan Pie and Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.

Using two Stylish Shapes circle dies, I cut out the two images – then I colored in some “ground” with the Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blend.  I adhered the sentiment circle with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I adhered the remaining twigs and leaf with Liquid Glue.

Then I added the small pumpkin circle with more Liquid Glue.

I added a few gold Neutrals Adhesive-backed Sequins and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a second Playful Ghosts sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Basic WHite panel.  Then I added the cute little bat image – and colored the stars with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend.  I stamped and colored the pumpkins in the bottom corner – and added some “ground”! 🙂

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Pecan Pie card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the pumpkins on the front…

…and the bat image on the envelope flap.  Tell me that doesn’t look like the bat signal up in the sky!  You know it DOES! 🙂

Et Voila!  How cute are those Playful Ghosts?!  There’s also a little broom-rider AND a….Dracu-ghost in the set, too!!  So fun!  And – I feel like I’ve used so many superlatives about the Changing Leaves set that….anything more is superfluous! 😉

For inks – and Paper – and stamps – and dies – and embossing folders – and punches… I use pretty much….all the things!!

And I can attest to their high quality, sturdy craftsmanship – I even traveled with it!  The housekeeping staff at the hotels were…intrigued.  And a little mystified about that crazy lady in room 211!!  🤪🤪

Check out how I keep my dies organized – on Magnet Cards (I use all 6″ x 7″ – some die sets need TWO!), in Storage Pockets (which I ALSO use for storing embellishments!) and alphabetized in my Creative Crates.

So – I walk the talk, for sure!

This is a great time for organizing your space as we head into New Catalog Season!  Whoo-hoo!

Happy shopping – organizing – and SAVING!

PLEASE NOTE:  I do receive a small affiliate fee when you use my Stamp-n-Storage shopping links.  But – you’ve seen plenty of pictures of my stamping space – both at home and when I’ve traveled! – and you KNOW that I am a HUGE fan and love their quality products!!  I recommend them to everyone!

Thirteen states – and Puerto Rico! – will have Back-to-School Sales Tax Holidays this year and some Stampin’ Up! items qualify for the tax break in those states! BOOM!

The states with upcoming tax holidays are:  Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.  So, if you live in one of those states or Puerto Rico, take a second to download the spreadsheet below and mark your calendar!

Here’s the list of states having sales tax holidays, what the dates are and what SU! supplies will qualify for tax free purchases (HINT:  Stampin’ Dimensionals qualify in ALL the states! Just sayin’!) during the holiday (click on the image to download a full-size printable page):

Please note:  You have to place your order with Stampin’ Up! DURING the tax holiday period in your state in order to receive these items tax-free (so – that’s from MIDNIGHT on the first day to MIDNIGHT on the last day of the tax holiday).  Also, keep in mind that this is a STATE SALES TAX holiday and the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.

For those wondering about Georgia, Louisiana, New Jersey and Wisconsin, those states will NOT have the sales tax holiday this year.
