Stampin’ Up! Winterly Tree Tops Double-Stack Sneak Peak Card for the SU Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop

Good morning everyone! Welcome to this month’s Fun Folds Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!  We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see!  This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!!  How cool is that?!?

Now – I have a SO-VERY-EARLY Sneak Peek for you!  It’s a NEW Suite – coming in the Sept – Dec 2024 Mini Catalog – which will go LIVE to customers the first week in September!  It’s the Nests of Winter Suite – and it includes the Winterly Tops bundle, Nests of Winter DSP, the amazing Birch 3D Embossing Folder and some VERY COOL embellishments.  I used it for you today to make a cool Double Stack Fun Fold thank you card.  Take a look-see:

I got the idea for the double-stack fun fold – and the dimensions – from a card created by Susan Campfield! 🙂

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Copper Clay cardstock for the card base.  I embossed a piece of Basic Beige cardstock in the amaze-balls new Birch 3D Embossing Folder (part of the Suite and coming in September).

How gorgeous is that?!

From it, I cut two 3/4″ x 4″ pieces – which I adhered to each end of the card base with Liquid Glue.

Yup.  I totally forgot to take a BEFORE picture.  Sorry!

For the folding mechanism, I scored a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Copper Clay cardstock at 2″, 3 3/4″, 7 1/4″ and 9″.  I folded the two middle score lines “in” and the two outer score lines “out”,

On a piece of Basic Beige cardstock, I stamped a Winterly Tree Tops sentiment in Cajun Craze ink.  Up the side, I used the swag image in the set to stamp three times in Shaded Spruce ink.

I colored the leaves with the Light and Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends and the berries with the Light Wild Wheat Blend.

I adhered it to the inside of the folding mechanism.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the entire mechanism onto to the card base – centering it between the two embossed cardstock strips.

For the two squares – the stackers – I used Basic Beige mats.  The “bottom” stacker mat is 3 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ (with the short side being the horizontal edge).  To that, I used Liquid Glue to adhere a pussy-willow-strewn piece of the new Nested in Winter DSP (coming in September in the Sep – Dec 2024 Mini).

Then I adhered the panel onto the right-side folding mechanism – making sure to keep the Liquid Glue just on the right side of the matted panel.

The card front (the “top” stacker) is slightly larger.  On the bottom of a 3 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Basic Beige cardstock (with the short side being the horizontal edge), I stamped the Winterly Trees sentiment in Cajun Craze.  Then I embossed it in the Birch 3D Embossing Folder.

I matted the panel on Basic Beige cardstock.

We’re going to get a great pack of COLORED Linen Thread – it’s the Natural Tones Linen Thread – and it has Cajun Craze, Night of Navy and Garden Green Linen Thread in the pack.

I used the Cajun Craze thread to tie a Double-Loop Linen Thread bow and adhered it to the embossed panel with some Liquid Glue.

A VERY cool feature of the new Winterly Tree Tops die set is that the two bird dies cut out printed bird images right from the Nests in Winter DSP.

I cut out the double-bird image and adhered it over the top of the Linen Thread bow with double stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using Liquid Glue on the LEFT side of the matted panel – I adhered it to the LEFT-side folding mechanism.  That made it the “top” stacker.

I added the final piece of the new Suite –  some new Earth Tones Shimmer Gems (clear, Garden Green, Basic Beige, Copper Clay)…

…three Copper Clay gems on the “top” stacker and one on the inner liner and the card was done!

This card comes together and fits nicely in an A2 envelope! 🙂

So – my Basic White Medium Envelope got the Winterly Tree Tops sprigs in Shaded Spruce and Wild Wheat on the front…

…and more of the Nests of Winter DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh my goodness, y’all – this is the PRETTIEST new Suite!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Nests of Winter DSP – pussy willows are one of my fave things and the birds are just darling.  Add in the fact that the Winterly Tree Tops dies cut those birds out….boom!  And the coordinating stamp set is great – with beautiful sentiments and images!
