Stampin’ Up! Layered Beauty Z-Fold Easel Thank You Card with Video for Creative Creases #84

Good morning, all!  Here we are on the cusp of another weekend and I’m hoping you’ve got something fun planned.  I’ll do a video on Saturday evening and we have a team meeting on Sunday, but… other than that – we’re kind of playing it by ear.  Maybe a trip to the garden center?!? 🤔

Speaking of gardens – today’s card features a huge and beautiful floral from the Layers of Beauty bundle – which includes dies and MASKS (AND is included in the Bundle Sale!  Whoo-hoo!).  I used it – along with some Cute Crochet Embossing to make a cool fun fold card for you.  Take a look-see:

And I think it’s a perfect expression of friendship so…I played along with The Paper Players this week!

You’ll see this card – along with the other Design Team members’ cards –  at this week’s Creative Creases Challenge! We’re all about the Fun Folds and I hope you’ll come and join us!

I got the idea for this fun fold from my friend – and teammate! – Carol Buckalew!  She’s over at Inky Bee Stampers – and here’s a link to her card if you want to check it out!

I started with the Z-fold portion – a Pretty in Pink card base cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″ – scored at 5 1/2″ and 8 1/4″.  I folded the 5 1/2″ score line as a valley – and the second score as a mountain.

The smaller card is a “regular” tent fold card – starting with a 4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock, scored and folded at 5 1/4″.

I embossed a piece of Old Olive Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP in the Cute Crochet Embossing Folder and adhered it to the front of the Lemon Lolly card base with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the large floral from Layers of Beauty in Gray Granite on a piece of Basic White and then used re-positionable adhesive to secure it to my work surface.

Using Small Blending Brushes, I worked my way thru the five masks in the Layers of Beauty bundle.

– Masks 1 and 2:  Large flowers in Pretty in Pink and small flowers in Lemon Lolly.  I started with light coloring – and then added more with each mask – peeking under the mask every once in a while to check on my progress.  Note: cover the parts you’re NOT coloring with a sticky note or some other mask to keep from adding color where you don’t need it.

– Mask 3:  I used the same colors for the flowers but – this mask ALSO includes little holes to color the centers of the tiny yellow flowers.  You can use a Blending Brush to add Gray Granite ink OR – you can do like I did and just color them right quick with your Light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blend. 😎

– Mask 4 – 5: Old Olive for all the leaves.

With the coloring complete – I cut it out with the matching die in the bundled die set.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals – keeping them near the middle of the die cut – to adhere the die cut to the front of the Lemon Lolly card base.  I placed it as high as I could without it extending above the fold of the card so that it would be clear of the easel stop.

I used the detailed leaves dies in the Layers of Beauty set to cut out Mossy Meadow and Old Olive cardstock leaves and some from the Old Olive paper in the Berry Burst, Old Olive & White Glimmer Specialty Paper.  I tucked the leaves up under the die cut – adhering them with Liquid Glue.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere a loop-d-loop of Silver & White 1/2″ Sheer Ribbon to the card front.

On a piece of Lemon Lolly, I stamped the Layers of Beauty sentiment in Old Olive ink, cut it out with a Stylish Shapes banner die and adhered it over the bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some Lemon Lime Twist and Lemon Lolly Adhesive-backed Shiny Sequins and that card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the little flower image from Layers of Beauty in Gray Granite in the corner of a Basic White panel.  I colored it with the Light Pretty in Pink, Lemon Lolly, Old Olive and Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the inside of the card base.

Using Liquid Glue on the BACK of the card base – I adhered it to the middle of the large panel of the Z-fold card base.

For the front easel panel, I embossed a piece of Basic White in the Cute Crochet embossing folder, matted it on Lemon Lolly cardstock and then to the small front panel with Liquid Glue.

The Layers of Beauty sentiment is stamped in Old Olive on Lemon Lolly cardstock. I added the little sprig in Gray Granite and colored them with the Light Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Blends.

I matted the sentiment on Pretty in Pink and then, using Dimensionals near the bottom of the matted panel – adhered it to the easel.  I made sure it was positioned so that the card would stand with the front of the Lemon Lolly card base tucked into the easel stop!

I added a couple more Shiny Sequins and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the small Layers of Beauty floral on the front…

…and more of the Old Olive Regals 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I’m so glad that Carol made this fun fold so that I could…”borrow” it! 😎. I chose the Layers of Beauty bundle cuz I thought the fold would be perfect to show off that gorgeous die cut flower.  I LOVE the masks in this bundle – they add color so perfectly that even non-colorers (🙋‍♀️) can make beautiful art!  SOOO easy and SOOO pretty, don’t you think?!  It’s got the added benefit of great leaf dies – which I really appreciate!

Finn Fan Fix

Last week, we got our Kratke tubs cleaned out – replenished – and planted!  Tomatoes and a lone pepper.  And – the next day – a rosemary plant.

As you might imagine, gardening is hard, hot work.

So the Man made sure to stay hydrated.

Nothing like a drink from the hose!
