Good morning – are you more tired today than you were yesterday? Did you set your clocks forward last night before you went to bed? I hate when I have to do that in the morning when we change to DST – I feel like…BOOM! Just lost an hour of my day! 😒. I personally LOVE Daylight Savings Time – those long evenings are truly my jam! I don’t like CHANGING back and forth so…since I am sure that “they” care – let’s DEMAND that THIS be our LAST time changing! Who’s with me?!? 😎
My card today features the gorgeous Desert Details bundle and Delicate Desert DSP to make a pretty card for a friend. I love this suite! Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.
And many elements were inspired by the Global Design Project CASE The Designer challenge.
I started by adhering a piece of Cajun Craze paper from the Delicate Desert DSP to the front of my Cajun Craze card base, using Liquid Glue.
Then I cut out a bunch of the southwest shapes from the Desert Details die set from one of the Gray Granite papers in the DSP pack. I adhered them to the front of the card with Liquid Glue.
I cut out a Basic White cardstock circle using the largest die from Stylish Shapes and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue. Using the next size die down, I cut a second piece of Gray Granite Delicate Desert DSP and adhered that to the circle die cut with Liquid Glue.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a length Pale Papaya 1/2″ Faux Velvet Trim.
I used the leaf die from Desert Details to cut out two leaves from Soft Succulent Fine Shimmer Paper and one from Evening Evergreen.
I adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue and then added a piece of Burlap ribbon from the Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack using Glue Dots.
Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the large flower from Desert Details in Pale Papaya ink (this DistINKtive stamp may benefit from a daub-daub-daub from a Sponger Dauber to get a pretty image – it depends on your ink pad – so…do a test run on a piece of scrap paper if you’re not sure!). Then I cut it out with its matching die and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On a strip of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the sentiment from Desert Details in Evening Evergreen ink. Then I adhered it over the flower with Liquid Glue.
I added some Gold Faceted Adhesive-backed Sequins and the card front was done!
On the inside, I used the Stamparatus again to stamp the large Desert Details flower in Pale Papaya on a Basic White panel.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat and into the Cajun Craze card base and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the large Desert Details flower on the front…
…and more of the Delicate Desert DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Is it any wonder that I love this Desert Details bundle and coordinating Delicate Desert DSP!? It’s just so pretty! I think the color combo in the paper is perfectly perfect! 🙂
I hope you like!

Such a pretty card Mary! Love the layout and the colors are perfect. And that look from Finn says it all. 😉
Yep – he doesn’t even have to say a word, does he?! Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂
Cute photo of Finn! He looks thoroughly disgusted with the camera.
Enjoyed the video and the card is lovely.
Yes – it’s hard to be one of the beautiful people, for sure!! Thanks, Julie! 🙂
Good morning from sunny Arizona where we don’t mess with time changes and we LOVE it! They tried it one year and decided once was enough! Lol
Love all your ideas/projects!
LOL! I know – I had some difficulty when I was TDY there – could hardly keep track of the time where all the OTHER things were – home in Georgia, the other test I was working on in CA…it was confusing! We need the whole country to adopt the pick a time (PLEASE let it be Daylight Savings Time!) and STICK WITH IT! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Pretty card. I love those shapes, they look lacy and delicate. Thanks for joining at Tuesday Morning Sketches.
Thanks, Donna – I like them, too – our years in Albuquerque….that SW thing sorta sticks with you! 🙂
