Stampin’ Up! Beauty of Tomorrow In Your Words Joy Fold with Video Tutorial

Good morning, y’all!  Yesterday was spent watching the news – so many stories of 9/11, some that I’ve heard every year since the day and some that were new to me.  And I took time to go get that haircut – so….yeah!  It was a good reprieve for a second from a heavy day.

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live, I appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me.  If not but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

My card – the one you’ll see here – is a custom make for someone who recently lost their beloved dog.  As such, I used the retired Dog Builder Punch (if you have it – yeah!  If not…I’m sorry! 🙁 ).  The base is a cool Joy Fold card – which is one of my faves.  The Welcoming Woods stamp set graces the front on a blended background, with Blackberry Beauty DSP setting the stage.  The Beauty of Tomorrow, In Your Words and Heal Your Heart (another retired set) bring in the sentiments.  Take a look-see:

In the video, I use a couple of die cut leaves from the Intricate Leaves die set – but everything else is identical! 🙂

This one worked well with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week! I went top left to bottom right (Enamel Dots – Leaves – Ink Blending)

I started with a square of Very Vanilla cardstock to which I added some blended ink using Blending Brushes and Blackberry Bliss, Night of Navy, Cinnamon Cider and Early Espresso ink.  I added a VERY LITTLE bit of Mossy Meadow in the center.

I placed the panel into my Stamparatus and stamped the Welcoming Woods tree grove image in Early Espresso.  I stamped it twice so that it would span the entire panel.  Then I matted it on Cinnamon Cider.

There are two card bases on this Joy Fold (as with most of them!).  The first is the large base in Cinnamon Cider.  It’s a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece, scored and folded at 3″ on the long side.  I matted some Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP on Blackberry Bliss and adhered it to the smaller panel.  I used the same design, also matted on Blackberry Bliss, on the inside of the large base.

The small card base is a 3″ x 8 3/4″, scored at folded at 4 3/8″.  I cut two pieces of Very Vanilla for the insides of the small card.

For the first panel, I stamped the sentiment from In Your Words (this is the cool host set that you can get right now – but only thru the end of the month! – with a $300 workshop or individual order) in Blackberry Bliss.  Then I inked the large Beauty of Tomorrow floral image with Cinnamon Cider using a Blending Brush to apply the ink – and stamped it over the top.  I added a little star from the Cute Stars Adhesive-Backed Sequin – matted it on Cinnamon Cider and added it to the inner liner of the small card.

The second panel sports my fave sentiment from the Heal Your Heart set (this sentiment is why I’ve kept this retired set from the previous Sale-A-Bration!) in Blackberry Bliss.  It’s also matted on Cinnamon Cider.  Note:  don’t have this set?  Take a look at Peaceful Moments – it would be a great substitute!! 😉

With the inner liners done and in, I used Liquid Glue to adhere the small card to the back panel of the larger card.

I adhered the square tree-strewn blended panel to the front of the small card front with Liquid Glue, then it was time to decorate!  And this is the only place where the video differs from this sample.

For this one, I used the Dog Builder Punch to cut out a Cinnamon Cider Dog, which I adhered to the square panel with Liquid Glue.

Then I cut some Beautiful Leaves die cut leaves from gold paper from the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper Pack and some from Cork Specialty Paper and adhered them over the dog with Liquid Glue.

Note: in the video I used a couple of Intricate Leaves die cut leaves instead of the Dog Builder Punch. 😉

I tied a Linen Thread Double-Loop Bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

The sentiment, from Beauty of Tomorrow, was stamped in Blackberry Bliss on Very Vanilla and cut with a Tasteful Labels die.  Then I popped it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some Cute Stars Adhesive-Backed Sequins and a Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dot and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Beauty of Tomorrow floral on the front in Cinnamon Cider…

…and more of the Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So…do NOT be freaked out by all the WORDS I had to use on this post!  It’s a WAY easier card to make than to explain!  Watch the video!  I love love the Welcoming Woods stamp set – that grove of trees is wunnermus, especially against a sunset sky!  And the Beauty of Tomorrow bundle gives you perfectly gorgeous sentiments and beautiful die cut leaves.  Make it a pet sympathy card with the retired Dog Builder Punch….or keep it “human” with Intricate Leaves!  One technique/fun fold – two cards!  You’re welcome!

I hope you like!
