Stampin’ Up! Wrapped Bouquet of Flowers for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with today and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I saw our theme and my brain went right to the Wrapped Bouquet stamp set and its bundled Wrapped Flowers Dies.  And it seemed like a perfect time to get busy with Mother’s Day cards.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our theme challenge!

The fun layout is from the CAS Colours & Sketches Sketch Challenge.

My color scheme is from the Just Us Girls challenge.

Finally – the flowers and watercolor wash were inspired by the TGIF Challenge.

I started with a piece of Pretty Peacock paper from the 2019-2020 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP (Retiring Soon – and available now at 20% off!) that I matted on Gray Granite for the card front.

Next, on a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, I created a watercolor wash in Bumble Bee ink, using the largest Water Painter Brush.  When it was dry, I cut three strips, matted them on Gray Granite and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On Shimmery White, I stamped the Wrapped Bouquet newsprint image in Gray Granite and cut it with the matching die in Wrapped Flowers.   I stamped the same image on the back of the die cut – and brushed Gray Granite around the edges with my Blending Brush.  Then I folded the die cut to create my flower wrapper. Hint: you can see how to fold the die cut to turn it in to a bouquet wrapper in a video I did a few weeks ago – right here!

I stamped the Wrapped Bouquet bouquet in Gray Granite on Shimmery White and cut it with the die from Wrapped Flowers.

I colored the flowers with my Mango Melody, So Saffron and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends and then used a few Glue Dots to adhere it inside the folded “newspaper”.  Note: the Mango Melody Blends are RETIRING and available right now at 10% off!)

I used the cool leaves dies in Wrapped Flowers to cut some Shaded Spruce and Pretty Peacock leaves.

Finally, I stamped the Wrapped Bouquet sentiment in Pretty Peacock on Shimmery White and cut it out with a Stitched So Sweetly die.

I laid out my collage – starting with a Gold Hoop Embellishment (Y’ALL!  These are RETIRING! 🙁  Stock up RIGHT NOW – they’re 10% off!!) and getting my leaves where I wanted them.

I adhered the hoop with a couple of Glue Dots and added the leaves with Liquid Glue.  The sentiment is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally – the wrapped flowers were popped on with more Dimensionals.

I tied a little bow with two lengths of Linen Thread and added it with a Glue Dot.

I colored a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels with my Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blend.  I had some of the watercolored paper left, so I cut the three little flowers with the die in the Wrapped Flowers Dies and adhered them with Liquid Glue.

I added the colored Rhinestones around the collage and clear Rhinestones to the center of the flowers and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Wrapped Bouquet sentiment in Pretty Peacock on a Shimmery White panel.  I added the bouquet in Gray Granite in the corner and colored it the same as I’d done on the front with my Mango Melody, So Saffron and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.  One of the colored Rhinestones finished it off.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Gray Granite mat and into my Pretty Peacock cardbase, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Wrapped Bouquet image in the corner on the front…

…and more of the Pretty Peacock 2019-2021 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Isn’t this Wrapped Bouquet stamp set and bundled Wrapped Flowers die set just so pretty and perfect for Spring?!  That’s a bouquet of flowers that anyone would love to receive!!

I hope you like!
